It doesn't give me an option to go higher than 5 stars, because Dr. Broumand and the entire staff went above and beyond in every way imaginable. First of all, I metabolize all kinds of anesthesia and part of my dental problems started when I was only 17 and a dentist drilled into a nerve multiple times during a root canal. As I learned that I metabolized everything so abnormally, I developed a fear of the dentist and also being put to sleep or any numbing became a challenge. I was without teeth and had lost so much bone and density and dentures will not work as I have no bottom ridge and not enough bone to perform the standard implant surgery and since in my younger years being obese, I had gastric bypass and had maintained weight since then but with the bone loss I lost almost 70 lbs. and I did not have that to lose, getting down to 125 lbs. (I am 6 ft). This was a life saving procedure for me and with Osteoporosis, I had been told there was nothing that could be done for me. When I visited Dr. Sista in Houston at Dentiq, he told me about Dr. Broumand and he worked with him to set this up and make it happen. I had a very intensive surgery done that took over 10.5 hours and I went right to sleep and never had a problem with any of it, other than my back and neck problems causing the surgery to be ended before they mounted the teeth. Dr Broumand told my wife if I was up to it, they would finish on Saturday or Monday. He said he would call at 7 am to see. At 7am sharp he called, I said yes and he called his entire staff out on Saturday morning and they got right to work and finished the installation of my temporary teeth. Also my wife was trying to push me in the wheelchair, the anesthesiologist volunteered and took me back to the Hotel, pushing me all the way into our room and helping me get set up on the couch there. They are SUPER! They saw me again Monday morning before we flew back to Houston. I can't say it enough, they were above and beyond on everything they did. So nice, so helpful, so prompt, on time. They kept me comfortable the whole time including the weekend and that itself is a feat that is hard to accomplish. I can not say enough about the D.R.O.S.I. and Dr. Broumand. I have so many people to thank for making this happen because it has literally given me a new lease on life. At 63, and already having to retire early because of multi level Degenerative disk disease, and having a pain pump implanted into my body for a continual epidural since my bones would not fuse and all the titanium in my neck and everything else, I had gotten pretty down at the future. What I have now is Hope for the future and a better life. I will be a life long fan of Dr. Broumand and the D.R.O.S.I. in Phoenix and Dr, Sista and Dentiq in Houston. They have taken care of me, and gave me a future to look forward to and in a way that made my wife and feel like a King and Queen, with every single aspect of the experience with them more than we could even comprehend. And unfortunately, we have been at a lot of medical facilities and had numerous surgeries and procedures, so we had lot of experience to compare with and there is no comparison, they set the bar so high and exceeded everything we could have hoped for. My experience with Dr. Broumand at Desert Ridge Oral Surgery Institute was beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of. After decades of dental issues, dental trauma and fear over losing even more teeth, I was terrified of seeing anyone new. If you've had dental issues, you know how real that stress is. Our (shortened) story won't be the average, but it should be read. As it speaks volumes as to the care received at this office. My teenager who's very medically complex-with Heart, liver, kidney issues . Had 4 badly impacted wisdom teeth. Knowing she'd need cardiac anesthesia, and the procedure done at Phoenix Children's Hospital, I knew we were limited drastically from the hundreds (thousands? ) of oral surgeons in the Valley. After SEVERAL appointments with surgeons listed on the hospital website-who took her insurance, were qualified, were in fact permitted rights at the hospital, and worked on children her age. We were turned away repeatedly as they looked over my child's case. Not batting an eye that my child was in pain, and in tears. Only seeing her as a liability and a risk. Never offering any sort of help AT ALL. Leaving me desperate and fiercely determined to find her some much needed and deserved relief. We walked into Dr. Broumand's office. FINALLY, someone saw a child, in unnecessary pain, that he could HELP. Did he take her case? YES! Did his office fight to get the procedure covered (which wasn't easy)? YES! Did he jump through 100 hoops to get it done? YES! Plus, of the 10+ dental offices we had been to, his staff is undeniably the most friendly and personable. Absolutely the best care ever! I use to have perfect teeth.. then suddenly within a year my dental health took a turn for the worst. I felt hopeless embarrassed lost all my confidence.. I didnt know what to do. It was just luck that I found this amazing place ran by the most amazing person I have ever met. Someone who truly cares about his patients. Someone who didn't get annoyed with all my questions. I was not a candidate for typical all on x implants due to severe bone loss. Many dentists had pretty much told me that there isnt much they can do because of the bone loss. Not Dr. Vishy. Whether you have enough bone and need all on x or whether you have a similar situation as mine and are not a candidate for all on x, Dr. Vishy is a master at Zygomatic implants. Which is a procedure specifically for people who are not candidates for all on x. There are maybe only a hand full of dentists who are able to provide this procedure and Dr. Vishy is the master! He has given me my life back. I traveled from Minnesota to Arizona to see him and I am so glad I did. The most humble and amazing human being you will ever meet!! Whether you need Zygomatic implants or all on x or just even need a dentist, where ever you are in the country I suggest you go see him! He made such an impression on me that I made him a little gift, which is nothing compared to the gift he gave me. You had to extract several teeth and a portion of my jaw bone. You thought I would have to get radiation therapy around my Thyroid Gland and made me aware of the post operative treatment involved. The day we met you had an almost total body cast on from a very traumatic experience. I could not believe you could have such compassion for me while you appeared to be the one more deserving than myself. During the surgical procedure you biopsied the area numerous times in a four hour period until you felt confident that you had removed any and all cancer cells. I remember the day I returned to your office for a post operative appointment. I was in the examining room and could hear a joyful voice shouting in the corridor "where is that lucky woman?" You were so excited to get the pathology report and entered the room with the broadest of smiles!!! You announced that I had no trace of cancer cells and would not need any follow up treatment!!! It is now 8 years later and my dentist, Sandeep Patel examined me and said there were no visible pre-cancer cells. Dr. Patel and Oscar Morejon, my DMD are constantly consulting to keep each other abreast of my chronic Lichen Planus which appears to be pre-cancerous. It took me months to find an oral surgeon for an abscessed tooth that I have been dealing with since March. Nobody wants to have oral surgery in the middle of a pandemic and I have gotten mixed experiences and knowing that this is my only option was an extraction I diligently did my research and took my time finding the right person for the job. Dr B cleaned out my sinus cavity extracted the tooth did prF platelets put me under anesthesia and stitched up the area. When I had concerns I drove the 37 mi back to the office and he had no problem reassuring me that everything was healing fine. He answered my calls on weekends and called me back when I had concerns. This was not a run of the mill extraction and he had no problem putting me at ease and not making me feel ridiculous when I got scared and felt things might be going south. I made the absolute best choice choosing him as my oral surgeon. I know I will need him in the future as I have a lot of issues from a bunch of teeth that were mishandled back in 2007.although I would love to say I don't ever want to have to see him again I know there's a good chance I will have to but at least I will be in the best hands and the best of care. I am so happy that my dentist Dr Resnick referred me to him. I could not have had a better surgeon on my side. As a single mother of two, and the out-of-pocket cost that this was, I am happy to have spent it on somebody who was not only diligent safe and trustworthy but actually caring kind and empathetic to my situation and truly invested in my treatment. After going through heavy doses of radiation, I was left with some serious dental issues. I did my due diligence, visited ClearChoice and a couple of other providers but honestly, I felt like just another number being shuffled through the system. Then I had my last and best consultation at Dr. Broumand's office. Not only does he hold a dental degree, but also a medical degree (which feels like a pretty good combo when your mouth has been through a war zone). He even partnered directly with my oncologist, Dr. Hayden at Mayo Clinic. That collaboration alone gave me a level of confidence I hadn't felt before. Dr. Broumand was personable, curious, and actually listened. He took the time to hear my whole story radiation damage, jaw issues, the emotional toll. He even offered a real solution, not just a sales pitch. Over time, we've started calling him "Sunshine" partly because he has three degrees from Florida, and partly because he brings that same warmth and optimism into the room every time he walks in. His staff cackles everytime we call him that - plus they made the meme I attached as a photo. I have serious PTSD around anything medical involving my mouth. So if you're in a similar place physically or emotionally I hope this helps you feel a little less alone, and a little more hopeful, as you choose your next step. My husband was referred urgently today by another oral surgeon to an Endodontist in the office adjacent to Dr Broumand's oral surgery practice. He had very bad infection of his back molar that was causing it to be progressively difficult to swallow. He was in horrible pain! The Endodontist couldn't do anything with active infection and my husband could barely open his mouth. So the dentist went next door and asked Dr. Broumand if he would see my husband. He came to the Endodontist office and after quick exam due to limited access into my husband's mouth, Dr. B. said he could take care of him. So we walked around the corner to his office, he took oral CT scan and then, under anesthesia, drained the infection, gave him some IV antibiotics and removed the tooth. Mind you, by time we got registration paperwork done, it was 5:30 before they started surgery and their normal closing time is 5 pm. He stayed late to help my husband. All the necessary staff stayed to take care of us too! Fabulous customer service!! I can't thank this oral surgeon and his staff enough for staying late on a Friday night to take care of my husband! When I had my first consultation with Dr. Broumand about three years ago, I was at my whits-end resulting from 6 years of past dentists and surgeons faulting on my treatment, with 3 out of 4 of my previous surgeons/dentists that did not know what they were doing when it came too dealing with implants. He performed a life changing, Quad Zygoma implant procedure after I was turned down by many others who claim to be "doctors". I am 39 years old, and was diagnosed two years ago with a daunting End-Stage Maxillary Atrophy (complete upper jaw-bone loss). I was at a point in my life where I couldn't even wear a denture any longer because I had no "ridge" where bone usually is, in order for the denture to suction to the roof of my mouth. Over the years I have been referred to different oral surgeons and no one would take my case. Dr. Broumand is the only one that felt comfortable taking my case. Since day one his office staff and him personally has treated my family with respect and honesty. "You need to have a wisdom tooth extracted." That phrase alone evokes an almost primal fear that I d liken to hearing, "The court is ordering you to re-marry your ex-wife," or "The I.R.S. has decided to do a second audit on you." All nightmarish scenarios to be sure. I was no different. Within minutes however, I was comfortably seated in a procedure room, the staff were chatting away about everything and anything not related to the procedure, and when Dr. Broumand came in, we spoke briefly about what he was going to do, and then spent another twenty minutes speaking about our families. My point is, we all fear medical procedures. Dealing with a difficult disease I have a tendency to carefully research where I put my trust for my personal health care. I question everyone and everything. My research on Dr. Vishtasb Broumand showed me that he is an outstanding physician in his field and a pioneer in his research on osteonecrosis of the jaw, having the most experience than anyone else in Arizona at least. It was an honor meeting such a great doctor, who is an incredible human being as well. He appears to be not only very knowledgeable and intelligent doctor with a listening ear, but also very compassionate and caring, taking his time to help beyond any expectations. He gave me even a CT scan he did at his office - HE DID NOT HAD TO DO IT FOR THE PURPOSES OF MY VISIT - so I can show it to my regular dentist and save some money! This review is way overdue. I had major dental problems in my younger years and wound up with a full upper denture and a lower partial denture. I desperately wanted dental implants and had finally saved up what I thought would be enough for the implants. I went to the oral surgeon that my regular dentist recommended who told me that I would have to see another surgeon for bone grafts before I could have implants. These bone grafts were going to cost another $25,000 on top of the cost of the implants and there was no guarantee of final success. I was incredibly discouraged when a friend gave me Dr. Broumand's number. I scheduled an appointment even though I expected to be discouraged once more. Was I ever wrong! Dr. Broumand showed me that I was a candidate for Zygomatic implants and spent a great deal of time explaining the process and answering my questions. First off I want to take the time to thank Dr. Broumand and both his clinical and front desk staff for amazing service. They all go above and beyond in helping patients. My fear of dentist started at a very young age leaving me as an apprehensive adult. I heard about Dr. Broumand through several Facebook groups I belong to and he answered many of the questions I had. Knowing I was injured on the job as a police officer he agreed to evaluate me at no charge and offered me a slot in a class he does to train dentist. The patients only cost is the anesthesia. Thanks to genetics and an abusive marriage, my teeth were beyond repair and, unfortunately, due to bone loss, I wasn't a candidate for dentures.
