My son and I were looking for a new park and I had found Desert Sky Park online. We were having breakfast nearby and wanted to try a new park. It was very busy upon arrival because they have a field where there were a few different games as well as practices happening. There is also a birthday party happening at the park. We did the full loop around the lake. There were ducks, baby ducks, also a few gentlemen were sailing tiny little sailboats, which was cool to witness. It was beautiful weather so we enjoyed our walk and then my son got to play in the park for quite a bit. It was very busy, but there was a lot to do. I would say probably more to do for older kids than younger. There is a nice bathroom there as well and I was surprised at how clean it was. Parking was readily available in the lot. I would definitely come back here. Anytime I can get near a body of water is good for me!

Desert Sky isn't just a regular park - it's a cool park! Boasting plenty of field space, the park also includes playground equipment, and a fitness course that'll give anyone from an avid rock climber to an American ninja warrior a run for their money. Opened on Nov 6, Phase I of the park is already buzzing with families. The website claims there are 11 ramadas and when we visited, there were several groups hosting birthday parties nearby the fitness playground. Surrounding everything is a 3.5 acre lake, which makes the whole area feel quite expansive. We spent most of our time on the fitness course, which has several obstacles ranging from simple monkey bars to fairly sophisticated climbing towers. Some of the course is truly intended for adults and will seriously challenge you! The location is great for East Valley residents, since the park entrance is off the 202/Power Road, in between Williams Field and Pecos Roads. As I mentioned, this is only Phase I, so it's really just getting started. When fully built out, Desert Sky is going to sport 16 multi-use fields. Get ready for more fun, Gilbert!

It's great for older kids and adults, but not really a playground more of an obstacle course.
