I primarily worked with Dominic (who was awesome!) during the ordering process. Not only were my questions answered, but Meta PCs was flexible on how I could pay for my beast of a machine. Unfortunately, the machine was shipped just in time to run into some dicey weather, so it arrived a wee bit frozen (I got the water-cooled option) and some minor leakage due to the machine being tilted a little bit too far. Alen took my call and was super supportive while we waited for the machine to thaw and dry out. I was also helped out by Will and Luis during my time of need! And I was a bit needy. Honestly, the whole team was super supportive. They communicated via chat, text, phone, and mail. Basically, matching whatever method I was using at that moment. I'm glad to report that it has defrosted and it is a thing of beauty. I couldn't be happier!

Problems can happen with any company, what matters is how they're handled. MetaPC earned my respect by standing behind their product and their customer. I called PCHelpForce when my video card went out a couple weeks ago. (Found the company here on…read moreyelp.) I made the appointment for Saturday morning on their website (love when I can do that). Their technician Bill arrived a bit early (the booking tool said the window was one or two hours before or after appointment time). Bill was friendly and efficient. He gave me my options, we agreed on a plan, and off he went with my computer, promising to return the next day (Sunday). Return he did, on time and with a smile on his face. He got everything back up and running and I was good to go. Unfortunately, my hard drive started going out (multiple BSOD issues). Without hesitation I contacted Bill. He immediately setup time the next morning. Once again he arrived on time, ran some diagnostics and confirmed the hard drive was on its last leg. We agreed upon a plan (which included an external hard drive for backup) and off he went, again promising to return the next day. Which he did, on time, and with a smile. He had replaced the hard drive, transferred all my data (documents, photos, etc.), updated all my drivers, and reinstalled most of my software (all except my videogames). This was the first time I had ever called a professional to work on my computer (I usually ask my tech savvy friends, but it had started to feel like I was taking advantage of the friendships). I'm glad I called PCHelpForce. They definitely exceeded my expectations.

Service was good, but price was both too high and misrepresented…read more Update: The store contacted me and refunded the amount that was misrepresented. Their customer service was quality throughout the process. I think the price was slightly too high, but not a major problem if fairly represented. I recently took an old laptop in from a deceased family member. As a computer scientist, I'm perfectly capable of getting the data off myself, but didn't want to spend the time on it. Data Doctors took a $60 deposit to assess, then called me to let me know it would be $140. I don't agree that the $140 is a fair price, but the sunk cost made it unappealing to go elsewhere, so I went ahead. Upon retrieving the data, they let me know the total cost was $200, that the $140 did not include the deposit figure. This was not communicated to me until time of purchase. The service was timely and as described, but the price was both unfair and misrepresented. I would advise anyone concerned about the cost of service to steer clear. Data retrieval services are priced at either $100 or $200 from them, but it appears that no realistic case would ever result in the $100 cost.

I changed my mind and asked for a refund of the initial fee. The guy was extremely rude and yelled at me on the phone, telling me never to come back to Data Doctors! I didn't curse at him or yell at him. In hindsight, maybe I should have just let it go. But I didn't think I deserved to be yelled at. I understand that people work hard for their income, but there was a better way to handle this than yelling at the customer and telling them that they were not welcomed back as customers. And of course, I will honor that and not come back. Also, I have been a customer in the past and have always been very happy with their service. i guess things have changed with customer service.
