We rented jet skis prices around $170 per hour. We came in person without reservation on a Saturday noon and there were multiple jet skis available for rental. The staff is extremely helpful and hands on with their teachings, especially for my nervous self as a first timer. We got to jet skis prices around through a portion of the lake. read more

Rented a Sea Doo from them for an hour. Pricing was about the same as anywhere else on the lake. Customer service was good, and the freedom they give you is a little more open than other places (how far out you can go). If you're coming here, I'd advise to watch their instructional video first to save 10 minutes. read more

THE BEST!!! They were so nice and helpful! Very reasonably priced compared to other places i called. I only hate that the restroom is soooo far lol But they have a beautiful dock where my friend and son waited while we took turns riding the sea doo. I highly recommend. I went on a Wednesday so it wasn't packed so i did get lots of attention from the staff. I think her name was Betty. read more

We were here a few days ago. The service was amazing from scheduling to educating us on the water sports. We had young children with us and we definitely felt safe with our guide/captain Cole (?) I think that was his name, the curly hair dude. He was attentive, made sure everyone was comfortable, and very patient. Thank you for such great service and the team for accommodating when we had to reschedule the time slot. We will book again next time we're in big bear! Hopefully, my kids will be more willing to do the water sports next time around! Highly recommend! read more

Had an amazing experience--Mike was awesome! He made the ride super fun and gave me a good scare yelling "Hit the brakes!" (Spoiler: there aren't any--hilarious!). I really appreciate that kind of humor. The jet skis felt extremely safe, and even as a first-timer, I was comfortable right away thanks to Mike's clear and thorough instructions. Rented two Sea-Doos for the five of us. We split up three and two. The youngest was 12 and oldest 76. It was the first time for most. The sea doos have geo-location devices that slow the sea-doos when they are too close together and when at the "out of boundary" area. I think that's a good thing to prevent or minimize any safety issues. The staff was very friendly encouraging. The safety video was extremely clear and the staff quickly reviewed the really important points. read more

Came here on a weekend trip with my boyfriend and we ditched our kayak plans the minute we saw Designated Wakesports's jet ski rentals !! We walked in without a reservation just to see and lucked out because someone gave up theirs. Waited 45 minutes ish before one opened up though, so I suggest booking ahead of time so you secure a slot and don't gamble like we did !! :-) My first time on a lake and a jet ski was a BLAST! Friendly staff, nice waverunners, easy educational prep process. Would definitely come again. Note: Waverunners had gps that force reduced speed to 5mph within certain distance of shore or the other waverunner, seemed like a helpful safety feature. read more

This is our 3rd time using this company. Last 2 years, Ryan was our driver. We will be requesting him again the next time as well. My kids did tubing last 2 times. But wanted to try wakeboarding. Ryan suggested wake surfing, as neither child had done anything other than tubing before. They LOVED it. They both got up after a few tries. He was patient and gave great instructions. read more

Friendly and helpful, but all of the Seadooshave tracking GPS and you cannot ride within 200 feet of any of your friends or family because it turns the motor down to 5 mph, disappointing and we we did not have full use of the lake read more

First time here. Came first weekend in Aug 2020 with over 200,00 visitors and ALL rentals booked! Even a month in advance for some. Designated Watersports is ahead of the pack with business gained by word of mouth. This is the only rental on the lake that is first come first served. Staff here are SUPER upbeat, pleasant and offer awesome customer service! Communication was beyond EXCELLENT! I have to give props to Myrie (I think that's how you spell it) who was the face and voice of Designated Watersports when we went and totally set the tone and made the rest of our day. We had a "nice" two hours on the lake because we refused to let the problems ruin our day. When we returned the boat we mentioned our issues. He couldn't have cared less. Barely looked up from his phone. If you rent from them, speak up for yourself before they stick you with this vessel! I have some great photos of all of this stuff but can't figure out how to post them here.

We went tubing down 4 times and the excitement was short lived and got boring for us adults fairly quick. Overall, if you're looking for something fun to do for the kids. This place was decent. The kids really enjoyed it, but after a while it got boring.

The new covered area is now home to 4 permanent pickleball courts which makes for an amazing space for youth who may not have their own nets yet and for anyone to come play in the shade. Yucaipa Pickleball Club reserves these courts for club play through the city. Club hours are generally in the mornings and the 4th Saturday of the month. Overall the cable system works great. The operator is helpful, and it is a lot of fun. The problem I have (and you will too), is the way the owner runs it. You pay by the hour. The amount of actual time you get on the cable (to ski) depends on how many people are using it. You could have 60 minutes of ski time ... or 2 minutes. Same price. They stuck me out on the cables with 7 other people (only one person at a time can use cable), and by the time the hour was over, I only had a couple minutes of time to ski. Then they said the hour is over, time to go. When I asked the owner if there was a minimum time garantee of actual ski time, he said "Your group should just be more efficient changing riders" ... !!!!???? WHAT? It was not "my group" ... it was his other customers. He was BLAMING me. Basically you are penalized if he sells more spots. Then he blaims you when his customers take too long to switch riders. ALSO, almost everyone rented their "package" which includes the Wakeboard. The problem is they have little working inventory so everyone shared the same wakeboard. This means it takes an extra 4-5 minutes to switch people ... which deducts from your hour. Basically the cable system is great, but if there is ANYONE ELSE USING IT, walk away!! You should only go here if it is completely empty, in off hours. Otherwise you will sit and wait on the hot dock for your small turn, and get very little ski time. Until there is different management or a change of owner, only use this place if you are the only customer. It is VERY POORLY RUN. read more

The guys here are soooo awesome. Have used them a few times. We weren't able to give them our business this time around because they were fully booked and they still gave great customer service. Pulled up with a pontoon loaded with kids and they helped us get the pontoon pulled in. Gave us some lessons on how to drive the pontoon and let me call around for another place that might be able to rent us a boat to inner tube and jet skiis for our big group. Sadly that other place, North Shores/Holloway was terrible. Said they had a boat ready to go and once got there, they did not, but then sent us to their sister company North Shore and when got there ... still no boat and driver. Told us they had 3 to 4 seater jet ski and they did not. Spent a small fortune with that other company and they treated us so poorly. Said they got us confused with another group but was unwilling to give us a discount of any sort or even an extra 15 minutes to compensate for us sitting in the heat with kids while they tried to get a driver. In the meantime, Designated is calling us back to make sure we found someone and seeing what they can do to maybe get another driver in to help. Such great guys. Can't believe how good they were to us. Hope this review brings them even more business over the others there. They deserve it. read more

Captain Anthony greeted us with a warm smile and immediately put our nervous daughter at ease. He took the time to explain the basics of tubing and knee-boarding, ensuring that everyone understood the safety procedures and felt comfortable before hitting the water. Throughout the entire two-hour session, Captain Anthony's coaching skills were remarkable. He knew exactly how to encourage our 7-year-old daughter and build her confidence. His calm and reassuring presence helped her conquer her initial jitters, and by the end of the session, she was beaming with excitement and asking if we could stay longer. We had 8 people on one of the water tubing boats and the kids had a blast for 30 minutes. Unfortunately their boat lost transmission and Ryan, our captain, kept his composure and tried to fix the boat in the middle of the lake. He was calm the entire time. We had to be pulled in by the harbor patrol and it was a journey back to the dock. The staff all were very professional even though their boat was out of commission. The owner, Desi, was incredible and worked with us on renting jet skis the next day to make up for the 1.5 hours of tubing we lost. Even though our tubing fun ended, we had a blast on the jet skis the following morning. The entire staff handled an unfortunate situation very well and very professional. Next time we are in Big Bear, we will only use Designated Wakesports! The way the situation was handled was great and friendly. Thanks for a fun jet ski ride and experience!!! read more

I was in Big Bear a couple of weeks ago with my family and I wanted to go jetskiing. I talked to all the marinas in Big Bear and their service was subpar at best. I got rude people who were no help at all. But when I called Designated Wakesports and talked to Carly she was absolutely the most friendly warm hearted person to talk to. I strictly chose this marina over one I had been to before just because of Carly. She was extremely professional and open. Registration only took like 10-ish minutes. Went out on a boat twice. Had such a good time tubing the first day the kids and I went back for a second and added an additional hour. Carly did an amazing job coordinating and communicating with us, and she is always just a good time to be around. Brian was our boat captain the first day, and really showed the kids a good time. The second day we went out with Cali (Mike) and tried wakeboarding also. He was very patient, and worked with the kids instructing them on how to get up on the board. Our group of 6 (4 -18 yr olds, 2 -62 yr olds)had a great time on the lake tubing. The speed boat was immaculate and well maintained. We had the option of also wake boarding but decided to spend all of our time tubing so everyone had their fill of fun. The water temperature was a refreshing 75 degrees. Surprisingly not too cold at all. Our skipper Brian was the best. He made sure we were all comfortable in the water and felt safe. It was a 5 Star experience for sure. Just rented a jet ski from them for an hour and had so much fun! Everyone was super chill. They were very informative about the rules of the lake, so we could have fun without getting hurt or getting a ticket. Originally I thought we'd be put longer. An hour goes by really fast, but it's also really tiring. They also have a boat with a driver to rent so you can wake board or intertube with friends. It was also very affordable. Definitely recommend this place for jetski rentals!! It's first come first serve, so we had to wait about 25 mins for a jetski, but we enjoyed chatting with the adorable redhead during that time. We got in touch with the guy who's name was being used to run the scam - he's really close with and previously worked with the people that work at the marina. He confirmed that this company had been sold, and it turns out they weren't taking reservations. The marina is also investigating what's going on. Someone is using the guy's name, Adam, to answer the phone and using a google powered online booking system under this company's name to collect the fee and then doesn't show up, disconnects the phone line, etc. We let our bank know, now the original Adam knows, and the marina does too. Original: ITS A SCAM. We called, told to book online so we did. $300 for a private charter later, we showed up 15 minutes early and the marina said they hadn't seen the guy that runs this in over a week - hadn't even seen his truck at the dock at all today. We're alerting our bank, but beware - this isn't a real company listing. Phone number no longer works, it gives a busy signal that we showed to the marina employees who were just as confused as us. We're alerting our bank and flagging this account.
