I have also purchased their lip balm, which is amazing in keeping my lips moist. The other day I stopped by their shop in Newburyport to replenish my oils. Since I absolutely love their shop, I always browse their new products. I ended up purchasing "Soothe," a cream, recommended for the aftercare of mosquito bites. I was skeptical, as I had tried many creams to stop the itch and to cool the feeling of fire ants crawling all over my forearm, which was the effect I experienced after a mosquito bit me last summer. My arm itched and broke out every night for months afterwards. To my surprise, Soothe stopped the itch and breakouts immediately after using it. Now my skin has been restored to its normal condition. (It felt like paper after the bite.) I am so grateful. I thought I would never find a solution. I went back the next day to let them know the cream worked amazingly well and to pick up their other seasonal cream, Cedar, which has also helped to restore the skin on my forearm. No issues, just feeling like my skin is getting what it needs. I am still working through my stash (must finish the soap I use first). I can speak for the face moisturizer (feels so good at night)- I can smell the smallest hint of lemon, the body (nice easy yummy oil) (next time I will try the unscented and maybe the baby products to compare, although I may not want to give up my lavender scent), the hand cream (so rich. so rich), the smell of the soaps and the hair oil (only one scent, a light orange blossom smell). I am also a sensitive person, smell is important to me. All are natural and balanced for me. I have curly hair and have been using it daily. I do not think I have any frizz on my bangs! The bar soaps smell like heaven. All are fabulous. Lavender is my go to, so this is much of the smells that I chose. But, I trust the others to be just as pleasing. The staff is wonderful, the space is adorable (Magical if you are in the area) but you do not need to go there. They ship for a low charge. I have been searching for the right body oil and moisturizers for years. I have oils with amethyst in the bottles, lavender seeds, etc. I will pick up these these products at farmer's markets, Etsy, little shops... I think I am done searching! This is a high-end children's store where you pay good money for items. I live out of state and was visiting my inlaws who live in town, so store credit is of little use to me. I purchased a pair of mittens that didn't end up working for my little one, went to return them not even 24 hours later, THEN was informed of the return policy. They have lost any future business i would have given them along with my local family's. The upside of this shop is that their selection of goods is adorable and of good quality. It's not somewhere I would go for an entire wardrobe but I consistently buy gifts here. But it's their customer service that really gets me. The staff here is so incredibly helpful. One staffer here not only measured shoes for me while we were on the phone to make sure I was buying the right size, but she also texted me pictures of everything they had in stock in the size I needed. They never try to swindle or oversell. They will pull apart every shirt in that store for you to try on if you asked them to with a smile. These folks are professional. Is it different than the old "John Farley's", yes of course it is, it's under new ownership. I had not been shopping at J.F. for an incredibly long time, so I was not a yeas-long customer before they closed as many were, but I've had really great experiences at both. J.F. was a bit larger, and seemed to concentrate more on tailored suits and tuxedos than off-the-rack sport wear, outer, and casual, but Farley's still does tailored suits and still uses some of the same manufacturers. This means that if I need to replace a pair of pants on my charcoal suit which I bought at J.F. four or five years ago, I can. they have a lot of variety and carry a wide range of sizes across all of their brands, and they know which brands run small and which run large and will tell you! I'm a big, somewhat strangely proportioned dude, and yet just about every time I go here I manage to find something that I can wear comfortably. I remember on time we were talking about different manufacturers sizing and to prove the point they had me try on a Peter Millar XXL shirt and a Rodd & Gunn XXL. Millar fits me quite well, still a tad snug in the shoulders but fine. The Rodd and Gunn however wouldn't even come close to buttoning, there was about a 3 inch gap between the buttons and the holes! They predicted as much. So if you have a question about a brand, they will know the answer. They also carry 34 Heritage jeans, which are one of the only brand of jeans I wear for general use. The bottom line is that this is a top notch shop with top notch employees. It may not be quite as formal as J.F. and the below reviewer's situation is unfortunate, but when a business closes, gift certificates are no longer valid. It's a risk one takes with buying/giving them. If J.F. had sold the gift certificates after they had planned to close, they should have informed the person buying them that they needed to be used by a certain date and wrote that on the certificate. You can't really expect a store to give away free merchandise because someone sat on a gift for a long time or the former store failed to inform the purchaser of a potential close. I also know for a fact that John Farley informed people of their closing far in advance because every time iId go in to buy something for months before closing I was reminded at check-out.
