I went in today, on a Saturday to size a very special ring that belonged to my father before he passed. Everyone told me it couldn't be sized because of the design but I heard DeSimone Jewelers could do anything. From the moment I walked in, I felt like I was a part of their family. so warm and welcoming and... the best part was that they sized my dad's ring to perfection! (and the price was great!) I worked with Lou who was amazing and had the best time talking to everyone there reminiscing about the 80's nightlife and "back in the day...". this was such a great experience, I highly recommend them because of the quality of their work and because they are such great people! Took items here in December, one to be repaired and one to be used to make a ring that was of sentimental value to my wife. Knowing it was a busy time of year, we weren't in a rush to get it done, we didn't hear anything from Will until February with some ideas on the ring design and no word on a necklace repair that they sell in their store. My wife says the designs look great, dont hear from them for another 6 weeks when I call and Will tells us he was waiting for us to approve the design, we did, whats the price going to be? We originally were expecting to spend 6-700 dollars, and brought in scrap gold to help defray the cost. Oh, your looking at $2000 to get this done, and we're waiting for an approval to start any of the work. So nothing has been done? No, sir, sorry we have been extremely busy here. Needless to say, we are extremely disappointed with the lack of communication and the lack of effort that we received from this store. I went back to get all the items from the store today and not so much as an apology from the owner, who saw the clerk hand me back the items. You will work with a super friendly, honest, extremely knowledgeable, absolutely no pressure sales staff (Will or Lou). You will hand select your diamond and help design a one of a kind mounting. That's it, it's done! Whew..... Now that wasn't so bad. Your ring will be made within a few weeks or so. Your purchase includes an appraisal upon delivery. The guys at Desimone are a class act. With a lot of shady people on jewelers row, these guys are people you can truly put your faith in and trust. I first called Desimone to schedule an appointment with my girlfriend (now finance) to look at some rings and get a feel for what she liked. On the phone, Will asked me about what I was interested in and my prospective price range so he could pull out some things for me before we got there. When we arrived, the experience was totally different than anything I had so far experienced while shopping for rings. There wasn't any fancy signs or crazy diamond lights in the store and it was 100% of a different feel than your cookie-cutter commercial jewelers stores. These guys don't use fancy diamond lights to make their pieces look good, their craftsmanship does that. Anyway, Will and the guys there not only walked us through different designs and diamonds, but EDUCATED us on the whole diamond buying process. I mean a legit lesson that probably spanned over and hour about everything you need to know about diamonds and making an educated purchase. By the time I walked out, I felt like an informed consumer. When I got home, I fact checked everything he said to me and he was 100% truthful and correct. The guys then hand designed a custom ring and setting for me according to what I asked for, and the outcome was better than I could have imagined. The ring was beautiful, and it was exactly what my fiancé wanted. I would recommend these guys to anyone looking for an engagement ring, or any type of jewelry piece. While I was in there, I heard many customers come in saying they were from all over the country, but they made sure they stopped by Desimone whenever they were in the area. These guys are professional, honest, and all around great people.
