I have been a customer of Jay Roberts for about 15 years. I have purchased watches and jewelry for my wife as well as using their service department many times for watch issues. Last month, I was given a 60th birthday present from my children who live in New York. It was another Tag watch that they knew that I had my eye on. I needed the watch bracelet sized and called Jay Roberts for their cost. Knowing that I would have to pay for this since I do not get up to New York very often, I was floored by the Jay Roberts woman that answered the phone told me. Without asking my name or asking if I was a customer of theirs, I was told that if the watch was a brand that they did not carry, the cost would be $25. If the watch WAS a brand that they carried, the cost would be $50. This was basically a penalty for not purchasing the watch from them. I was floored and just hung up. Although I did expect to pay for this, having to pay a surcharge because the merchant was angry because I purchased elsewhere is unacceptable. Do they charge a surcharge for jewelry repairs if the item was purchased elsewhere? I did take the watch across the street to Bernie Robbins. They were happy to size the band for me, and did not charge for the sizing. While waiting there for them to remove the link, I purchased a small gift for my wife. Not only did Jay Roberts lose any future business from me, they turned me on to another jeweler that knew about customer service. Shame on you Jay Roberts! read more

They have a wide variety of selections but everything is top quality. I bought an engagement ring, three wedding bands, earrings, necklaces, and I have never had an issue with them. When I bought my wife's engagement ring they spent about 10 hours...over multiple visits...helping me select the diamond, choosing the right style, and patiently educating me on everything. I went to Jay Roberts to replace a battery in a Movado men's watch.. A salesman wearing a Breitling watch and a lot of jewelry said he could replace it while I waited.. He replaced the battery, I paid him and left. Ten minutes later I noticed the watch had stopped.. I returned to the store and he replaced it again saying the other new battery was bad.. Same thing happened again, the watch stopped.. I once again returned and gave him the watch.. He came back out and told me the movement was bad and needed work.. I left with the watch and a week later I went to another jeweler in Moorestown Mall and explained what Jay Roberts said to me.. I picked up the watch 45 minutes later and she said the watch was 100% and Jay Roberts installed the battery wrong.. Been patronizing Jay Roberts Jewelers for a few years now and am always pleased. I'm a watch collector and they carry some very good lines and generally have a very good selection of each. Omega, Panerai, Breitling, IWC, Cartier, and some others. Last visit I was looking to see how a new Cartier diver looked on my wrist and they had every single style of that watch in stock, on display including a new blue faced ceramic model that I'd only seen previously in magazines. Also, while I don't know a lot about women's jewelry I am familiar with many of the brands they carry. Selection sure seems to be huge, rows and rows of display cases. The last few times I've been in the store I've been waited on by Andy. Good guy, definitely knowledgable about watches, also helped steer me in the right direction for anniversary gift for my wife. Went to the store shopping for a 20th anniversary engagement ring "upgrade." Found a beautiful setting. The diamond selection they showed me wasn't to my liking, so I told them I'd think about it. Came back a few days later ready to purchase the ring, but the setting wasn't in the case and they couldn't find it for several minutes. They didn't like that I had gone ahead and purchased my own diamond for the ring, and asked me to give them a chance to be competitive with the diamond I had bought (after saying that I hadn't told them my true budget when I came in initially, which was not true). Since the diamond I had purchased hadn't arrived yet, I said sure. Came back this Saturday with my diamond, again ready to purchase. Again, they couldn't find the setting, and after 5 minutes of looking for it, they showed me the comparable diamonds. They were lovely, but they couldn't match what I had. Then they "found" what they said was my setting -- only it was not the same one at all! They were all set to order me the totally wrong ring! We had to convince them we were right about it (we had written down all the information). So they started searching again and I told them I'd come back. At that point I had honestly had enough -- I don't like the idea that things disappear from a jewelry store -- are they so disorganized that they lose $2200+ items all the time? Do they not care enough about customer service to keep a note to themselves about where they put things? I then went across the street to Bernie Robbins and had an excellent discussion with their salesperson Ellen. While I was there I did get a voicemail from Jay Roberts saying they had found the setting....but too little too late. I tried to call their store Saturday night to leave a message letting them know I'd purchased another ring -- but NONE of their phone numbers works properly. Every number listed sends you to this automated message that won't allow you to leave a voicemail....it's not even a "You have reached Jay Roberts jewelers..." type message. Well hopefully this review will find them and they will "get the message." read more

This also included financing, insurance, and lots of guidance. Britney was great- she was assertive but also was patient with me and my unique requests. The place is very nice inside and also has a great collection of stones in all shapes; they even offered to bring in some additional ones in for me. I like too the combination of staff that was available- they each contributed bits and pieces which ultimately helped with my evaluation & decision. Everyone there seemed to be on "my team" which I really liked too. Especially during a stressful time. Ironically the stressful time was really anything but. my cost also was competitive - especially with other area jewelers and I believe that I got a very good deal. The staff helped me established the price range I was comfortable with initially and Jay Roberts respected it the whole time-they didn't try to push me into the next price level at all. Rather worked with me on where or how I could save $. My price was especially good given all my customizations and designs. The ring looks amazing and literally gets compliments from a really diverse group of folks - young women w/ Starbucks cups in LuLuLemon gear, to Septa workers, waiters and waitresses, Peers, Grandparents, etc. it also really helped set the tone for our engagement period and upcoming wedding.
