I have always favored small businesses but these guys are the cream of the crop. From their newly furnished and clean store, to their amazing customer service everything was perfect. My most recent trip was today, 12/27/2023, left a lasting impression that will likely leave me forever favoring Desperate Measures as my first option for my tactical needs. After a horrific experience resulting in multiple delays at a different store and the cancelling of my order (Sportsman's Warehouse). I came into Desperate Measures to be met by Mark who helped save the day and allowed me to treat myself for Christmas. I entered with the sole intent of purchasing a CZ 75 SP-01. After conversing with a great and knowledge man like Mark I ended up purchasing 2 more firearms in addition to the CZ , a Mossberg 500 and a Savage Arms Apex Hunter. I also purchased ammo. Even with 300 Win Mag being tough to find anywhere Desperate Measures was able to find the ammo and order it for me allowing me to end my search for the ammo. At no point did I feel pressured to buy anything, the hospitality was on point and these guys and gals knowledge of their profession was exceptional. I have been buying guns and ammo for almost 30 years and thought I had found the store that would be getting all my business. Unfortunately that is not case. I have been charged more in fees for some item that at other shops and had hidden fees charged that other shops never charge me. I ama senior citized, 84 yrs old my wife is 15 yrs younger. I am a USAF vet, raised on an Ohio farm and I was always around guns. We bought two handguns from David at the San Bernadino gun show. He and his wife Erin and the staff were always courteous and professional as we asked questions, filled out paperwork and they explained the California gun purchase process. Months later, I wanted to make an exchange from a magazine to a revolver, and Daved handled everything quickly to my satisfaction. First experience last experience, asked a question about why a certain firearm that i bought new a few months ago was on the LEO wall, only for the guy to go back and forth with my about how its not on roster and that I must've bought it a different way than I did. when I can name At least 3 other stores that i can go buy one brand new as an average joe. left a bad taste in my mouth that makes these folks seem really holier than thou. So no thanks, take your money elsewhere. Way to treat a customer Lol. read more

A well stocked gun store with many accessories to choose from. As far as a knowledge base, you're better off going to warrior one. My experience with Desperate Measures was not great. I stopped by on my way home just to check them out and was pleasantly surprised with their inventory. Even purchased a small gun safe to upgrade the one l currently own as their price was very affordable. The salesman offered many options to include gunsmith services. I brought in my AR15 to have a gunsmith look at it and was immediately told it wasn't California compliant (it is). The grip seemed to give them confusion. Whereas the DOJ offers very little in guidance the CA statue is very clear that the grip cannot have a thumb and forefinger touch below the action of the rifle. Mine most certainly did not. Further, the grip was clearly marketed as CA compliant, cleared by RSO and carefully checked at all the local gun ranges in Riverside for compliance. If you've been to the gun ranges you understand. Desperate measures had some kid working the register/computer arguing it's validity despite the information he was given. Ultimately desperate measures declined to service the weapon as it exceeded their comfort level citing some garbage about "if DOJ came in to inspect them" yada yada yada while it's certainly their right to refuse service I'll take my services elsewhere. read more
