2 year update. I purchased my first firearm here recently and the process was pretty smooth. Ordered online for it to be shipped to store and went in to start background paperwork once I got the email notification for pickup. After the 10 day waiting period, the pickup process was easy. I think they tend to forget that there are two different signs.. one for starting paperwork, and the other for pickup. . Anyway, the associate that helped me was great and even helped me pick out some ammo as well. read more

Usually have good service. I usually do online ordering to avoid the long wait times at the gun counter. Well I ordered an optic that was in stock, was waiting for the email that it was ready for pick up. 5 hours later I call to confirm because I don't live in the Moreno Valley area and wanted to pick up. I guess I reminded them that they are supposed to be pulling online ordering as well , the guy says it is out of stock I just updated your order and we will reach out as soon as you can pick it up. 6 days later still no pick up date provided. Management has to implement accountability at that location. I should have chosen Murrieta instead. As today still shows in stock but except the one I bought I guess. read more

This place has one guy behind the counter who knows what he's doing. Everyone else is incompetent and having to call him to ask questions. I drove an hour and a half through traffic for this place to tell me the other person who told me what to bring in for my wife's background check was incorrect. Even when they knew they made the mistake they didn't offer a solution just immediately offered refund and a half ahh apology. Never coming back here again. read more

Really like this place. The staff is friendly, the prices are really competitive, and they have a huge selection. The biggest gripe is that they're always understaffed. The gun counter can get very backed up taking hours instead of minutes, but this is not atypical from a big box store. I far prefer this place to the competition for outdoors gear, too. Came in the morning to pick up my rifle because the girl said they don't do firearm pick ups past 7pm because they close at 8pm ok no big deal only when I got there before I had to go to work the manger was late to her job so I had to drive back empty handed came in after work and the girl with black hair and glasses didn't even say hello just asked for my id didn't say I word to me as she was doing my paperwork. I tried to tell her about the ammo I was looking at and she COMPLETELY IGNORED ME I'm never coming back here again. I'll happily be going to turner's for all my firearm needs. read more

The store looks clean and organized. I don't know about anything else but their service is really slow. I purchased my pistol online. The wait to get to talk to anyone is already over an hour, only one person ahead of me. When I get a chance to see my pistol, another 30-45 minutes with the DROS application. Getting my pistol ( actual pick-up ), took almost 2 hours with only 2 people ahead of me. What's up with the wait ? They need to hire more people in the back. So far, there are only two people working and they are really slow. They don't even acknowledge that you are there and they avoid eye contact. I will buy another pistol but not here anymore. I don't want to waste my time waiting for them to get to me. One customer per hour ? Come on. Are you kidding me ? read more

Absolutely terrible experience today. Went in at right about 5pm, stood in a line of 3 people to finally be helped at an hour and 20 min of waiting. The service, ya, no. Literally told a different pistol was far superior to an existing one I already own while also being told to order the one I came in to purchase online because they didn't have it in store. I could have stayed home and done that. What's worse, it would take over a week to arrive, then another 10 days of DROS wait, so almost 3 weeks of wait, not 10 days. Then as if that wasn't enough, he excused himself to go back to the other people and said if I had anymore shopping to do, feel free, to which I advised I needed ammo and other things, I asked if I had to wait in the other AMMO specific line since there was a guy standing there for a while, he said no he'd be with me. 20 more minutes elapsed, never even acknowledged I was still waiting. I'd had enough and left. I'll go to Turners and skip this joke of a store. Sad, my last 2 firearms were purchased at that location and the Corona one, not again. I'll call and cancel my Sportsmans CC as well, it'll never be used anyway. Every single person waiting was not happy and grumbling about the wait, so I'm not alone, and there were 6 people waiting after me. Hope corporate gets that place fixed. read more

It was a wonderful experience from start to end. As soon as I walked in and went to the regular checkout area, the gentlemen working there pointed me to the right direction in regards to my first ever firearm pickup which I placed online. The staff behind the counter at the firearm section was very knowledgeable, kind, friendly and very helpful, especially the person who helped me and guided me with my first ever firearm purchase, Jessie. She was great and super insightful and such a big help. I was very nervous and she walked me through everything, from getting my fsc, dros and demonstration of safe handling. I can't recommend this spot more if you want to make your first purchase or first step into getting a firearm. Many people tend to leave bad reviews when they have a minor inconvenience but so many people do not leave good reviews when they've been helped with above and beyond service. I hope people see this and get inspired for the latter to become the norm. read more

Brian and Jessie were so kind and helpful! It was a much better buying experience than I had at Turners and Bass Pro Shop. It looks like there is a lot of bad reviews on how long it takes to get help but thats literally how it is at all gun counters! Its expected to have a wait when buying but that's due how much paperwork you have to go through, thats not their fault. Without opening our cases and bags, the guy with the wannabe Tombstone mustache aka Wyatt Derp, tells us "Sportmans doesn't touch non-compliant pieced together rifles and firearms." Mentions those are illegal and tells us to go to Grizzlys down the street to transfer. Again,has not opened the cases and assume we are criminals or something based on the make and model of the firearms we told him? Both firearms were purchased and registered in CA. We went to Grizzlys and it was taken care of. That was a "tell us you don't want to do a transfer. ... Without telling us you don't want to do a transfer"momen. I did not expect to be made to feel like we were trying to do something illegal here. Even after clarifying that these were indeed ca compliant and registered, Wyatt Derp wouldn't have it. Their handgun selection was awful too, barely anything in stock worth looking at. EXTREMELY disappointed in the service I received (or didn't receive) in this store today. Let me start by saying that I live right down the street, and according to my Explorewards points have spent over $2,000 at this location. I went in today attempting to buy a new firearm (P365). I knew exactly what I wanted and had all my paperwork ready to go. I arrived to the store 30 minutes before closing. After looking at the gun and attempting to start a transaction, I was told they probably wouldn't be able to get to me today since they closed in 30 minutes. WHAT!?!? What kind of store won't ring you up after you're inside literally trying to buy merchandise. After speaking with 2 other employees, it was confirmed that they would not even attempt to START the transaction with me and I was turned away. On black Friday I had gone to Turner's to purchase a different firearm, and that store stayed 45 minutes PAST closing to make sure the transaction and paperwork all got processed. Today was the last day of a promotion that i'll now miss out on, and was the entire reason I was there to make a purchase in the first place. Even though I live less than 5 minutes away, i will NEVER shop at this location again. I would give 0 stars if I could, HIGHLY disappointing read more

I've been at this location at least 5 times. No one ever asks you if you need help. There's a lot of employees but they ignore you. If you are in line to see the guns/rifles they don't acknowledge you at all. Place is clean and that's about the only positive thing I have to say about the place. I understand it's a new store with short staff, I just dont recommend anyone step into this store to buy firearms unless your willing to wait 1-3 hours just to be spoken to. I went in for a pistol and waited 1 hour, then got skipped when it was my number. I don't blame the staff, and I really hope you guys can get a full team back there. Clean store and helpful employees. Of course the store is short staffed and can only do so much. New to the city and the next one isn't close enough to compete. The process is not quick, but think what state you live in and the time it takes to complete all backgrounds and gather all info needed from people who have never ran through this process. Most of these people are buying their first gun and have a tone of questions. Also, they just opened up and had their first big sale, of course the wait is going to be long. Enjoy going to turners in SB and tell me you won't miss this place. I've purchase multiple items already that required me to wait a significant amount of time and if you know the process then learn to wait. For the best experience, watch Gill and Adrian tag team that gun counter and still have a smile on their face. Take a snack, water and some headphones and wait like everyone else. This place is kinda new. I was first time gun buyer and a man named Ty Noble helped me out. He was VERY patient with me I asked A LOT of questions He helped out an answered all of them! Love coming here, have been at least once a week since opening day. We have a camping trip tonight and we're grabbing a couple last minute things. My young kids were very excited and told associates at all the stops we made this morning and most either ignored them all together or halfway acknowledged them. Our check out associate at SW was Chelsea (sorry if I spelled it wrong) and not only did she acknowledge the kids but asked questions, it made them even more excited. Every Sportsman's I've been to always has top notch staff but Chelsea took it to a higher level. Worst place to go buy a gun. The people at the gun counter are not competent at all. Go here if you want to wait hours to not be talked to greeted or your existence acknowledged. Never been to a Sportsmans Warehouse and was excited that there was now a location in my city, Moreno Valley. When I first visited the store on 12/21/23 I overheard an employee (with a distinct Kbar knife tattoo on his forearm) who wasn't wearing their green Sportsmans Warehouse vest or nametag, bragging to a customer about how he ripped off some yound kid who wanted to turn in his firearm on consignment giving him a very low amount. I didn't find this to be very professional. I found the gun I wanted and a few days later bought it online. A few days 12/30/23 after that I went in to the store to finish the paperwork. I waited about 2 hours only to discover the firearm they tried to give me was the display. This was not mentioned until I remarked on all the nicks and scratches. Then it was explained that it was the display. I asked for another one only to be told it was the last one. I was upset because I waited 2 hours, still had to complete the process which was going to take more time, then would have still had to wait 10 days before I could pick it up. Then I was told Id have to cancel my current order and place a new order and another firearm would arrive on 1/9/2024 but I wouldn't receive my refund right away, so essentially I would be out the money for 2 guns until I received the refund. I decided to cancel and wait because I noticed the Corona store had 1 in stock. As I was leaving I realized the employee helping me forgot to give me my ID back. It was in his pocket, annoying, but it was an honest mistake. He was very helpful and was actually wearing his work uniform. On my way out I asked the female employee at the register if I could speak to the store manager she said they didn't have one, which I thought was a lie because online it said the store managers name. She said her name was Soley and she was the manager of camping and fishing (she also wasn't wearing a vest or nametag). While I was explaining to her my complaint she didn't seem at all interested she kept turning her back to me and messing with the fishing poles that were against the wall almost seeming like she wanted to avoid the interaction, then she began reeling the fishing string in on one of the poles never really making eye contact with me, and essentially told me to just go to Corona. She acted as if Corona is around the corner from Moreno Valley or something which it is not. It would have probably took me an hour to get there and then I would have had to wait another hour or two in line again. I then called the Sportsmans Warehouse number I got online and spoke to Madeline who was very helpful in taking my complaint. Lastly as I was leaving the store a man was seen giving his number away (they ask customers to take a number as they wait to be helped) to a person entering the store saying forget it the wait is way to long, which I totally agree. Update: when picking up at Corona location waited 3 hours for pickup. Terrible. read more

Sportsman's has great staff, I was at the back of the store to just check out the Assault rifles, then I met a really nice co worker named Conner, he was really logical, careful & patient. The firearms he recommends are really good and told me what's legal and what's not with the accessories & weapons for beginners that are not familiar like myself. The prices are a such a great deal/affordable, Conner would be a real good guy to talk to about the firearms & what that he recommends. 10/10 read more

I went in to buy one rifle, and William showed me several other rifles. I ended up with one which was much better at the same price level. I actually must say drastically better, and I am so glad that he took the time to show me the differences so that I can choose the right rifle for my needs. William is also an expert on ammunition and answered all of my questions and Tommy things I didn't know after 25 years of experience through work. The store is clean and fully stocked and has lots of ammo. Well, I didn't work with any of the other employees I can highly recommend William for anything in the long rifle and ammo sections. their prices were competitive to the web and I have absolutely zero complaints and nothing but happiness having come here in person. read more

We went to this store today to purchase fishing supplies for a fishing trip with our grandchildren. My husband is very ill yet he wants to spend as much time as he can with the family. We selected the items we wanted and went to the check out desk where the cashier Priscilla was on the phone. We were the only customers in line. Priscilla continues the phone conversation for several minutes without acknowledging the customers waiting. After several minutes Priscilla says I'll be with you in a few minutes. The phone call continues for several more minutes,as we continue to wait to make our purchases. Shortly thereafter hunting assistant manager named Ty Noble comes to the check out counter to join the conversation with Priscilla and the person in the phone. After several minutes Ty Noble is finished assisting Priscilla with the phone conversation yet Priscilla is still on the telephone, I ask Ty Noble assistant manager in the hunting department who doesn't mind coming to assist Priscilla for an extended telephone conversation,can he ring up our purchases since Priscilla is consumed with a phone call, Ty Noble says NO he will not check us out although Ty Noble can leave his department to answer phone calls which is what Ty Noble assistant manager in hunting department did as he refuses to assist me with checking out so we can go home. We continue to be ignored by the staff Priscilla who remains on the phone for the duration of our time at the cash register, a third employee came out of a door behind the desk whom clearly overheard the conversation and wanted to take a look at the customers that were being ignored, yet this third employee doesn't offer to assist us either. Therefore we have three Sportsman WHSE Moreno Valley employees who are refusing to offer assistance customers for an extended period of time although they clearly are not busy. When these employees were done being disrespectful to my husband and I, we requested the corporate office contact info for Sportsman's WHSE because I feel the Corporate should know how customers of color are being treated by their employees. Especially when the store has placed a person in a management position that refuses to assist the customer yet will leave his department to assist with a phone call for several minutes as we wait to be rang up. As a first time customer I'm writing this review in hopes that if this continues to happen to other customers the company may want to make changes. The staffs behavior in this Moreno Valley store on Eucalyptus Ave. was completely disrespectful to the customer. read more
