There was something VERY off with the chocolate buttercream. It was too sweet and not nearly chocolaty enough. The cake looked hideous, and the "writing" was awful. Not as advertised!! The cake looked beautiful, and I was genuinely happy with the decoration--that part was done really well. However, I'm giving it 2 stars because of the flavor and overall experience. I specifically ordered the Reese's Pieces option, and when we cut into the cake at the party, everyone was confused and disappointed. It didn't resemble what we expected at all. We were told over the phone that the filling would have Reese's Pieces, but there were maybe three pieces total in the entire cake. You were lucky if you even got one in your slice. The flavor was bland and honestly reminded me of a basic store-bought cake. Definitely not worth the $140 price tag. It was also my first time ordering from a bakery, and this experience really discouraged me from doing it again. This is a nice bakery to have local to me. I love that they're open until 7 in the evening, as many other bakeries close in the afternoon. The desserts here are unsurprisingly very sweet and heavy. Some are better than others. I would recommend skipping the dual cake/cheesecake slices and cupcakes. I was personally unimpressed by these and found them overpoweringly sweet and oily. The napoleon is my number one favorite. Napoleons from other bakeries always fall short to me compared to the ones sold at Sweetlife. The pastry is always crisp and fresh (the cream puffs as well), and the cream has this indescribably unique vanilla aroma. It is super good and perfect for sharing! The ratio of cream to pastry is personally too much for me however, so I usually like to eat the extra cream with something plain on the side. I also really like the cake slices. They're very fresh tasting and are available in some pretty unique flavors depending on the day you stop by. Definitely give Sweetlife a chance if you're in the area! read more

I pre-ordered 2-dozen Macarons on May 6th, 2025 and I was given by the owners sister two day old macarons from the shelf. I paid $75 for 24 dry, hard, mis-shapen, poorly decorated what they call macarons. I asked for a refund and she denied, saying these are what we sell. Please consider a Bakery in Redlands or surrounding areas before throwing away your hard earned money in this poorly operated establishment. For the price paid, this is an incredibly unprofessional and sloppy job. I put 50% down on a deposit, pre ordered, and was given macarons from off the shelf. Decided to try Sweet-life bakery because of their yelp pictures, they have so many detailed/beautiful cakes I was sure they'd make mine cake special. My daughter is really into Cocomelon (JJ is her favorite character) and her favorite is when "baby shark" comes on. I called the store on a Saturday morning to place the order and asked for Wednesday pickup. I explained that the cake was going to be for a 1-year old and I wanted it to be a "smash cake" for her. They told me their smallest size is a 6" round which was fine by me. I sent them an example of a baby shark cake I saw on their yelp that I liked along with a picture of JJ so that they knew which character I was talking about. Admittedly, I did not give them very specific instructions for the cake because I was so impressed by their yelp page that I thought no matter what they do, the cake will come out great. The instructions I did give was I wanted JJ's face to be the main attraction, I wanted to put sharks around the sides of the cake but I wanted all the sharks to be pink, I asked them to make the cake very girly with lots of pinks etc, finally I asked them to put my girls name on the cake. What I ended up getting was a basic cake with the exact picture of JJ that I sent as a reference printed out and it was sticking out of the top of the cake with a stick. The front had one shark printed with the same edible paper used for JJ. I felt that no effort was put into the cake at all. I paid $88 over the phone thinking it would compare to the other cakes on their yelp but instead they printed two pics and just stuck one on the side and put the other in with a stick. We discussed it, I expressed my feelings at pick up time and they said they can fix it. I told them I wanted JJs face drawn on the top of the cake, I came back and it was his full body again they tried to replicate the reference pic and he was unrecognizable. The drawing was really bad. My baby had no idea who was on her cake. Even her name was written in a place that could be easily missed. I couldn't let her use it as a smash cake due to the ingredients and choking hazards. I was really upset about this because her cake was supposed to be one of the main things. Everyone thought the same thing about the cake it was fairly embarrassing. The grocery store cocomelon cake was $36 but I turned it down because I thought coming here would be so special/customized. read more

Such a cute little bakery with so many yummy options! I came by after my sister made a cake order for my niece's birthday and while there I decided to try their other sweets. I saw they had a Cakeshake on their menu and I HAD to try it! I was so excited to try the cakeshake mostly because I was expecting a literal cake slice on top but instead for our visit, we were told we only had a cupcake option. I thought they'd match it with the shake flavor but not too sure what the cupcake flavor was. During our visit they only had a select few ice creams but pretty cool they offered Rocky Road for the shake; that's my favorite ice cream flavor. They put chocolate icing on the rim, and put whipped cream so it got pretty messy. We had to sit there and drink it for a bit (they had tables and chairs) before we drove off if not It would have been a mission. Despite that, the shake was good. I was VERY impressed with the Rainbow cake we had for my nieces birthday. It was soft, moist, and not overly sweet. The icing they use was really good too. Last minute needed a birthday cake stopped by, bought a tuxedo cake. It was delicious and not too sweet. Great customer service as well.

My daughter wanted a certain cake for her sweet 16. I was having trouble finding someone to create such cake, and then someone recommended Sweet Life bakery. I sent the woman and an email and she got back to me. I sent her a picture of the cake that I wanted. When we talked about flavor, I told her that I had seen that they also create cake cheesecakes and if it would be possible to make this design a red velvet cake cheesecake. She told me that unfortunately she couldn't do it with that cake because the cheesecake would show through the bottom I told her that we would scratch that idea and just make it a red velvet cake. But I made it quite clear that I wanted the design of the cake I sent her a pic of. I had to pick the cake up the day before her birthday because they weren't open on Sundays or Mondays. I also had to be at work. I live and work in Moreno Valley and this bakery is in Grand terrace. When I get there to pick up the cake, she shows me something that I can't identify. When I asked her what it was she said it was a red velvet cheesecake. I told her I wanted the cake in the picture and that we decided he was just going to be red velvet. She kept telling me that she understood that we were making a cheesecake. Every time I said something that's how she responded. I understood we were making a cheesecake. First of all, it was an ugly cheesecake. I don't even know what she put on top as a topper something which I never seen on anything that was red velvet. The reason that I was so upset, was because she seemed very unapologetic about the whole situation. She even responded with well this is the cake I made so...... I basically feel like it was either take the cake or not she didn't care either way. Luckily my daughter wasn't having a party or the party would have been ruined. She said it would take 5 to 7 days for my money to be refunded to me. Luckily, the money I spent on the cake wasn't the only money that I had to spend for cake, because then I wouldn't have been able to get her anything at all. I will never use that baby ever again in life, and I suggest if you do, you be very cautious about what she understands. read more

It was a cookies and cream flavor and the price was great for the size and quality of the cake itself. This is not a Stater Bros. bakery, and I'd much rather spend a little more to support local small business. Their cookies and concha's are also divine! They have plenary of other baked good items for you to choose from and the staff is always friendly. I was hoping to be able to choose from the ones I saw online but the worker informed me that only certain of those cakes are made each day and they're sold at a first come, first serve basis. The worker was very helpful and told me to call early the next day and try to secure a cake (since the only ones left that day were cute pink cakes with sprinkles, and I needed a cake for a very adult, male lol) I called early the next day and was informed that a Tuxedo cake was available from their "standard daily cakes" which was perfect! ( I will say ONE snag is the OPTIONAL free "birthday plaque". Pretty much hand write with what looks like a black marker on a small round white plaque. Unfortunately it just didn't match the "classy-ness" of the cake so I asked them to remove it once I got to the store--which the worker did expertly and make it look like the plaque was never there!) The workers were very helpful and worked with my time schedule to make sure I got the cake on time. The cake looked beautiful and tasted amazing! Sad to say I was disappointed by my experience ordering a cake for my wife's birthday. I had ordered a custom cake that was Funfetti but with all chocolate buttercream. The cake had chocolate buttercream on the outside but not the inside (some other kind of frosting). The decorations are very nice and beautiful, but overall the cake didn't come out like I needed it to. The custom cake order was very expensive, it's a special occasion to get a birthday cake and to have it not fully expected is hard for the price. read more

I am so excited that a bakery finally opened in Grand Terrace! I have been eagerly awaiting their opening. I have been here a couple of times now. The first time I came here, I got a few cake pops. I also recently ordered a birthday cake for my husband here. The bakery is small, but very cute and kept very clean. I have always been immediately greeted and the staff are very friendly. The cake pops were great! They were super moist and not overly sweet. When I came in to order the cake, the baker was very nice and accommodating. I mentioned to her that I was interested in a guava cake and while I went with a different flavor instead, she seemed open and flexible to trying new things. For my husband's birthday, I ordered a chocolate marble cake with chocolate frosting and a raspberry filling. I thought the cake was reasonable--$28 for a 3-layer 6 inch cake. The cake was quite good! It was also decorated beautifully. It was moist, not overly sweet and the frosting and raspberry filling were really tasty. My only suggestion would be to perhaps add more of the raspberry filling because there wasn't much in there. Overall I was very happy with the cake though and I would definitely order another cake from here again. Not to mention, when I ordered the cake, they were giving our samples of their churro cake which I tried and it was simply delicious :) Overall, very clean/cute bakery, friendly staff, fair prices, and yummy treats! read more

I ordered a custom cake from here for my sons 100th day celebration. I've never ordered a custom cake before and I was super excited to finally have one! We are local so we decided we wanted to help the local mom-and-pop shops (especially since we're all trying to recover from the pandemic). For a small 6" cake with buttercream frosting, Bulgarian cream with white cake, and some design, it was $58. Upon pick up, I was so happy! It was perfect and exactly how I wanted it! So thank you for a beautiful cake! Unfortunately, once we cut the cake, it fell apart. Upon inspection of the cake, we noticed that they don't cut off the top part of the breading so that it could be evenly stacked. We had cut the cake in half, so half of it fell off while the top part of the other half slid off. I went in person to tell them what happened, and apparently, "you're not supposed to cut the cake in half otherwise it'll split like an orange". Also, they always stack their cakes this way and they don't cut off the top to make a stable layer cake. So beware. Don't cut your cake in half. At least I gave a local shop a try. I had high hopes with all their good reviews. I tried their other desserts which were good, so 2 stars for that and the beautiful design. -3 stars for the unstable cake. You'll see in my picture the uneven layering of the cake, and how they used buttercream to hold it together. read more

Absolutely love this bakery. Just ordered a cake from them for my sons first communion. All the staff is very welcoming and professional, and informative. I ordered my cake and cookies a week before the event which was great because most places require 2-3 weeks in advance. I got a churro cake and it was absolutely delicious at first I was worried we wouldn't like it but it was so delicious not too sweet not too plain just perfect. Went on a whim, just an hour before Sweetlife closed. It was our 1st time, also. I think we stood in front of the display case drooling on the glass for at least 10 mins, and we asked a million questions. The lady behind the counter was very friendly, even though you could tell she hoped we'd make our decision a bit quicker. Lol! We ended up ordering our own version of a sampler: carrotcake cheesecake, coconut macaroons, Million$ Bar, Lemon bar, chocolate cake with strawberry topping, and lemon raspberry cake. We missed out on the German chocolate cupcakes because the gentleman who arrived after is spied them before we did and quickly claimed them (No judgement! I'd have done the same. Haha!). We skipped the barista bar this time, but their coffee selections looked comparable to most independent coffee shops. We'll certainly be back there again, one to stalk the German choc cupcakes, and second to order more of the items we sampled. All were delicious, soft and moist, and fresh. The standouts were the carrotcake cheesecake and the lemon raspberry cake. Btw, their formal cakes on display were beautiful, too! If the formal wedding/party/etc cakes are all as moistfully delicious as the ones we tried, they would be worth a buy. read more

Been here several times with my husband. We sit and talk there for about an hour every other week. It is very quiet, private and quaint. The owner seems very nice, and the items we've tried have been consistently good so far. Iced coffee - very reasonably priced, like 1.75 or something, and it's huge. That cup of iced coffee literally gave me enough energy to clean the entire house and then some, haha. Macarons, probably the best I've ever had and I love macarons. Found this place after a bowl of Ramen from Kaz Ramen which is across the street. The young man who worked at the front counter said they have been open since December and I definitely think it's one of the best bakeries in the IE. We tried their brownie, and their cake shakes there but took home their opera cake, their napoleon and other goodies as everything was delicious. I haven't tried the cupcakes yet so I can't compare them to other IE cupcake places but their brownie was way way way better than the one I recently bought at Sugarbee in Redlands. Their cake shakes are way way better than Mug Shakes in Rancho and their other Pastries blow every other place I have been to out of the water (sorry all the cute coffee/pastry places in Rancho). Very beautiful cake and delicious! I would order from them again, but one hesitation I have is packaging. They did not have a cover for me for the cake (this is pretty much how they handed it to me, just taped the sides because they don't have a box that fits their cakes), and the sides got smushed while I drove back. Came in today very excited to purchase a chocolate milkshake. I was told that they do seasonal flavors and that they only had cotton candy and bubble gum flavored ice cream.
