Was great but it is long closed. Ellen will still do some in house catering if she's available and you ask nicely!

And the neighborhood is urban commercial/industrial 2 if I'm right, ya know, not yuppie stuff - so very organic small maritime city with many layers of history: Franco-Ottowah, Mid-Atlantic swarthy Irish/Mediterranean/Balkan, Great Migration Success Story, and your unique Netherlandy people too. All hungry and at the mercy of the big orders of the day! That's a good small business for you. Four stars to make it clear you can park in the gravel "employee" lot if you're poor at streetwise parking. Easy fix and it's a 5-er! Evan Kearney (ÓCaernaigh)

Normally I get a sheet cake, but they didn't have any, so they told me they were giving me a 7 inch round When I picked it up, it was in a sealed box, so I didn't discover until I got home that the cake had a hard chocolate coating rather than just the plain buttercream frosting I had expected. When I called the store simply to understand what had happened, the woman I spoke with was argumentative and dismissive. She repeatedly told me that that cake "always comes that way" and that I "should have known." I explained that I had never received it that way before and had every reason to believe I was ordering the same traditional cake with buttercream frosting that I had purchased previously since that's what I had asked for in my phone conversation to order the cake. What was most disappointing was the complete lack of courtesy. I wasn't asking for a refund or anything for free--I simply wanted to understand why I had received something different from what I thought I had ordered. A simple, "I'm sorry there was a misunderstanding," would have been more than sufficient. Instead, what should have been a very simple conversation became unnecessarily unpleasant. The cake was disappointing, but the customer service was far worse.

The dining area is lovely-framed art work, elegant tabletop lighting and enough space between tables so neighboring conversations stay where they belong-at that table. Superb service from a young lady who attends U of M. Enjoyed a glass of beautiful cava before tucking into Duck Confit. It was served with roasted small golden potatoes and salad topped with picked onions. For dessert, we split their delicious carrot cake. It's evident that all food is scratch made. Cake had crushed pineapple and no nuts (important for those who are sensitive). Hope to return when we are back in the Saugatauk area later this summer.

Grand Finale started off as a cafe and bistro and then started offering dinner service 3 years ago…read more The menu is well thought out, and has a good offering for the French theme they're going for. They have a wide selection of cocktails and a unique Chartreuse offering. We had a feature goat cheese and mushroom dip, a petite Caesar salad, a pork tenderloin, and beef brisket bourguignon. The dip was very cheesy and had no visible mushroom (or mushroom flavor for that matter), so was essentially a goat/parm/cream cheese dip with caramelized onions. Both of our mains were poorly cooked. The pork tenderloin was overdone, dry, with an undetectable coffee crust. The blueberry BBQ sauce was all blueberry. The beef brisket was tough and once you swallowed the sauce that it was slathered in was incredibly dry. The veggies it was served with were undercooked and included the chewy stems of mushrooms (also undercooked). Despite all of this, it is a cute spot and service is kind but they are understaffed.
