Dairy Creme is a Grand Haven boardwalk institution. I've been going here with my parents since at least 2004, maybe earlier, and now I go with friends when I'm in the area. They have a large menu but I'll tell you what to order: the turtle sundae. Caramelly, chocolate-y, and delicious. About $4 for a small which is rather large, too. It's located on the boardwalk in Chinook Pier, I believe, but on the side facing the lake (not the side facing the road). Check it out for some tasty treats! They have food like hot dogs, etc. as well.

Turtle Sundae. A must!

How is this not a 5 star location? HAVE YOU HAD THEIR TURTLE SUNDAE? Apparently not. Folks, get there and get there now. It is so tasty. There is an abundance of warm caramel and hot fudge, the pecans are crunch and sweet, and the whipped cream is the perfect topping. This place is a must have when you're in Grand Haven. A perfect treat to grab while you watch the musical fountain!

Still delicious and still good service…read more This past week, I went with the two eggs, which comes with diced redskin potatoes and choice of bread - I had the biscuit this time. The potatoes are so yum. This time instead of adding on the blueberry almond oatmeal, I went with the Oatcakes (pancakes made from oatmeal) which had blueberries inside. Split two cakes with my wife - enjoyed them and the cinnamon butter on top is delicious. She liked the Heartland and the kids went with French Toast plus turkey sausage.

I am just so disappointed in the evolution of Morning Star Cafe. Truly, it could be so great with…read morebetter management and staff. The waits are incredibly long. We even ate before we went so we wouldn't get hangry, but even from the wait of being seated to the time the kitchen finally makes your plate of food, my children were almost in tears because their tummies hurt. My daughter literally only ordered yogurt and fruit. She was the LAST one served. Please train servers to get children's food out quick (for everyone's sanity). When asked how our meal was, I finally did mention that this will be our last time patronizing this establishment. Clearly they are too busy to craft a joyful and memorable experience. It's better if we find a new spot. My previous review still stands. Go if you want a good breakfast, but be prepared to wait awhile and pay a premium for it.

Yummy! Yummy! The Unicorn Tavern delivers on all fronts: creatively cozy, delicious food, and…read morewelcoming staff. I love how this area is decorated with old doors dividing the booths. The indoor/ outdoor space blends together in the warmer months with cool hangout spaces and game areas. This place is truly a work of art. Drink lists abound, but because it was lunchtime we stuck to food. We were not disappointed. Everything was well conceived and delicious. I can't wait to come back and try the bone bread next time, stew and scrumptious sounding salads. Today we had the kids smash burger, Brussels burger with frites and fried haddock and frites with a delicious coleslaw. The best part? Different sauces to choose to dip the fries in. The curry ketchup was the best (special shout out for *actually* cooking the curry into the ketchup) as it did not taste of raw curry. They definitely don't cut corners here. We noticed, and we appreciated it. We will be back.

Yes, they have a small parking lot, and don't fret if you have the park on the street like we did, as we were seating promptly and it didn't feel too crowded. Since we were seated at high tops near the bar, the bar tender was our waitress, and she is literally the nicest, good energy, engaging human ever! She also whips up the custom, creative mimosa recipes, kudos to her for her awesomeness! I ordered the Shakshuka, flavorful, delicious, would order again. Even as a non-vegan, it was satisfying and would recommend to everyone. Husband had the 1964 Worlds Fair Waffle, and it was tiny. Not what you envision when you think of Belgian waffles. He also ordered the Belgian Forest Bacon, again VERY small portion, so much so that at the end of the meal, he had to order a side of the Smashed Maple Sausage. Both our drinks (I had the mimosa) were fantastic and worth ordering, loved the glassware! Aside from the small portions of waffle, bacon, and sausage, the cheerful vibes here are contagious, and I'd dine here again in a heartbeat!
