The black Expedition was beautiful, clean and the infant car seat was so helpful. Thanks for working with us on pickup locations.

I am writing this review specifically in hopes that Enterprise Corporate, the District Manager, or the Regional Manager sees it and investigates what happened. My cousin drove a one-way Enterprise rental to this Destin location. When she returned the vehicle, she specifically explained that she would need to rent a vehicle from this same location to drive back home. Before leaving, she made sure to confirm that there would be no issue with her doing so. She spoke directly with Boyd, who assured her that EVERYTHING WAS FINE and that she was GOOD TO GO. We relied on that information. When we arrived on the day she was supposed to pick up the rental to return home, suddenly what Boyd had told her was no longer the case. And this is where my issue goes far beyond a simple misunderstanding. Ashley's handling of the situation was completely unacceptable. Once it became clear that my cousin was now at risk of being stranded in Destin, hundreds of miles from home, because she relied on information given to her by an Enterprise employee, I specifically asked Ashley to contact the District Manager or Regional Manager so that we could escalate the situation and see if someone with additional authority could help us find a solution. Ashley refused. Not only was there no meaningful attempt to resolve the situation, there was no empathy, no urgency, and seemingly no concern whatsoever that Enterprise was leaving a customer stranded in an unfamiliar city after she had specifically taken the responsible step of confirming everything BEFORE making her plans. We weren't asking Enterprise to fix a problem we created. We were asking Enterprise to stand behind information provided by their own employee. If Boyd gave incorrect information, that is an internal Enterprise issue. A customer should not bear the consequences of an employee providing inaccurate information -- particularly after the customer specifically asked for confirmation. And when a customer asks for the matter to be escalated because the branch-level response is not resolving the situation, refusing to even contact or involve district or regional management is unacceptable customer service. Mistakes happen. Miscommunication happens. But what a company does once it realizes its customer relied on that misinformation says everything about its commitment to customer service. There was an opportunity here for Enterprise to say, "Our employee told you this, you relied on it, and now you're stranded. Let us see what we can do." Instead, we received essentially: That's your problem. I sincerely hope Enterprise Corporate, the District Manager, and the Regional Manager responsible for this Destin location review this incident, speak with Boyd regarding exactly what my cousin was told when she returned her one-way rental, and review Ashley's refusal to escalate the matter when I specifically requested management involvement. A customer should never be left stranded hundreds of miles from home because they relied on information provided by an Enterprise employee -- and then be denied the opportunity to escalate the situation when that information turns out to be wrong. Enterprise Corporate, I would appreciate a response and an explanation as to how this is considered acceptable customer service.

Only 1 employee barely assisting anyone & everyone is being told they have to wait. No idea when we would be assisted! Just left and walked down the road to Enterprise where we are getting a car immediately. Don't know how this place can stay in business!!! Was just told that Enterprise gets several walk ins every day from Hertz because the service is so bad.....

I recently experienced an absolutely terrible experience with the Hertz brand. I'm hoping to…read moredocument it here in order to assist others in potentially avoiding the debacle that I experienced today, dealing with this unprofessional organization I also want to mention that I do NOT like posting negative reviews for businesses as a rule, unless the experience approaches a level of unprofessionalism that goes above and beyond what any customer should experience. This experience met and exceeded that level of unprofessionalism. I was basically searching for a rental car from Hertz on what would be considered a busy Tuesday after the holiday. I navigate to the website and select a vehicle, reserve the vehicle and receive a confirmation # from the website. Absolutely no booking or scheduling error, just a reminder that I would receive texts from Hertz if there were any updates or changes that needed to be communicated. I'm texted with the confirmation number and instructed to have this number available when I get to the Emerald Coast office. My uber arrives and drives me promptly to the Hertz office on Emerald Coast Hwy. As I enter the office and begin to approach the one employee working the desk, he asks me for my information, and I proceed to give him that information. The employee then proceeds to tell me that everything is booked and that he will put me on a waiting list. I explain to him that I booked this thru Hertz corporate, not a 3rd party site like Priceline or Expedia. I'm mentioning this as considering my confirmation number originated from Hertz, I'm thinking this won't be an issue. I was wrong on that front... Even when I call customer service. It's just a debacle thru and thru. I explain my issue to this gentleman and he mentions that he believes he can fix this by either escalating to someone within Hertz, or he can have a car brought from another site/company(I really didn't ask for more specific on this - I'm not sure how it would be accomplished because we never made it that far). The agent puts me on hold, and this is where it gets incredibly frustrating. The Hertz customer service agent contacts none other than the Emerald Coast Hertz office. He's connected with the manager, who is in the back of the office complex. The manager hasn't come out to speak with me at any point, but as I am literally waiting due to being put on hold, I hear the manager say from the back of the complex(out of site), "just tell him we're out of vehicles..". I hear that statement and like clockwork the customer service agent returns(I am now no longer on hold), and he informs me that he has to send me to customer service and the escalation department. The 800 number he gives me is the reservation line for Hertz.. I am now out the $25 dollars for the Uber, along with 45 minutes to an hour dealing with this nonsense. I've been customer facing for many years and couldn't fathom actually treating a customer this way. After searching in desperation for any alternative, as I am stranded and also admittedly frustrated, as I am now at the Hertz office and they are basically doing nothing to even resolve the issue(the manager never came to the front of the store to even explain how this happens or if there were any options available to me). "I searched for other car rental services near me". There's a return on the search that mentions that there is an Enterprise Rental/Leasing, 0.3 mi. away. I perform the same actions that I did with Hertz in scheduling the vehicle via the web(from my phone this time). At the end of that process, Enterprise sends me a text with a confirmation # to give to their staff when I arrive. I walk the .3 miles to the Enterprise Leasing and Rental offices, walk in - and when prompted, proceeded to give them my confirmation number. The Enterprise agent takes that information and proceeded to confirm my identity via asking for my drivers license. All of this took no longer than 10 minutes and the Enterprise team basically has me in the car I requested within 15 minutes of me walking thru their door. I can't speak to why this particular Hertz location failed on so many levels, but I would say that based on my experience with this particular Hertz office, you might want to consider looking at some of the other local options - that is if you want to save yourself a significant amount of time and frustration.

I've been traveling the world for business since about 1980, taking an average of about 25 trips…read moreper year. I almost always need a rental car, whenever and wherever I go. I've rented cars in about a dozen different countries, and in probably 50 or more cities in the US over that period. I've seen what I consider to be good rental agencies, and a lot of marginal outfits...and worse. As a resident of Northwest Florida it's really nice to be able to say that I've found the best car rental location I've ever used, right here in the Niceville/Fort Walton Beach area. I've rented cars and vans from Advantage Rent-A-Car at the VPS airport over the past year. And I remember thinking to myself what a great experience it was, the first time I did business with them, and in every succeeding experience I've had with them. The customer service at the counter has been fantastic. The ladies who work there are always very friendly and helpful, they always offer me options that allow me to limit my costs while getting the best vehicle I can for the money I spent. Every time I've rented a vehicle from Advantage the cars and vans have been in top condition, and with low mileage. As someone who spends thousands of dollars a year on rental cars it's important to me to get good value and service. The Advance Rent-A-Car office at Northwest Florida Regional Airport is the friendliest, most professional business of it's kind I've ever had the pleasure to spend money with, and they've convinced me to look for Advantage offices wherever I travel. I wish I could find that kind of service and attitude at every airport and rent-a-car agency I use. ***** - Five Stars...absolutely top-notch!
