While visiting Cortez we ate at this restaurant. The food was pretty good however, the service was horrible. I can understand that when it's busy things take time. While our group was having a great time laughing and reflecting on our drive from Phoenix we observed two of the waitresses and a customer sitting at the bar state "I'm sorry those people are being so loud, they shouldn't be here much longer". The two within our party who observed this comment were shocked!! We hope they did not make those comments based on our skin color, we are Native American. From our observation, the demeanor of the wait staff changed as they noticed we heard what they said. We will not be coming back to this establishment as we make this trip to Cortez yearly. read more

i ordered a bowl of Posole. My partner had a BBQ rib and cream brûlée. They were all very good. I did not expect it was so easy to get a good meal in this little town. We were staying at the Holiday Express next door. After a day of driving and sight seeing, it was so easy to just walk over to have such good meal. My wife and I had dinner here this evening. We were staying at the Hampton Inn and walked next door to this restaurant We don't have big appetites so we ordered the BBQ ribs and a bowl of the White bean chili and a bottle of Chateau St. Michelle Chardonnay. The bowl of chili was more like a tureen full of chili. The slab of ribs came with mashed potatoes and roasted Brussels sprouts. There was no salt or pepper on the table so I asked for some. Well, I tasted the chili and it was perfect, no need for salt or pepper. The ribs were amazing. I don't order ribs often, but these were delicious. We devoured the ribs and couldn't come close to eating all the chili, which we took with us back to the hotel. Service was excellent and prices very reasonable read more

Walked here from our hotel next door and gave this place a shot. The spinach artichoke dip was good! We also tried tacos and ribs. The ribs had a lot of sauce all over them but they were good. We chose to sit outside as the weather was gorgeous and wound up with a lot of flies around, kind of ruined our experience. If we were in town again we'd return for sure. read more

I have to admit I wasn't expecting much. The atmosphere isn't great. However, the wait staff was friendly and attentive. I ordered an amazing steak! A ribeye with an herb butter cooked perfectly on the outdoor grill. I also ordered a wedge salad and it was remarkably awesome with a creamy blue cheese dressing. We ordered a tasty appetizer - grilled shishito peppers. Everything was fantastic!!! Maybe we just ordered three perfect dishes. So if you go order the same thing!!! This was a great meal! read more

The game hens were fantastic. All very fresh and grilled perfectly. Great COVID care with clean environment, safe bathrooms (lots of stalls block to keep distance) and a wonderful Patio. The inside dinning was even spaces well with lots of open air flow. read more

It's a great place and great food but it's hard to get in to eat most of the time. We have gone there the last 4 times and we had to wait over 30-40 minutes because they are short handed. A lot of open tables and they could seat people to at least have a drink and wait but they make people wait in the hallway instead. Food and service is good but we won't wait when there's tables available. Also I've tried to speak with the manager many times and never got a response or even an email. Not much on customer service there especially since we go there often and still not acknowledge as a regular customer. Would be nice to get the manager to acknowledge us and talk to us or for the server to know us. read more

Passing through and this was recommended by the employees at Hampden Inn. I believe this was just about a flawless visit. I had the Porta Bella sandwich! Delicious! Others in the group has fish tacos, burgers, and quesadilla! All delicious. 2 reasons for the missing star... 1-we asked to order a to go at the end. One waitress told us they were no longer doing to go orders....we ended up ordering from our waitress then just asking for a box. 2- adding the tip of 18 percent for our family of 6. Now over the course of our 8 day road trip this is the first place to add in gratuity. I get why but I have to be honest. If your doing that then no use in me adding additional gratuity. I have been averaging between 20-25 percent based off service. That's just who I am...however I get offended when it's already added. I feel the gamble is you get for sure -8 percent but in this case you lost between 2-7 percent. For me it probably would've fell around 22 percent. But having a server in our family I get why, I just refuse to play that game. Other than that highly recommend eating here as all the food we had was delicious! read more

Fabulous find! We were staying at a hotel close by and wanted something close and easy this did not disappoint. We ordered our food to go and it was ready in less than 10 mins. The food was delicious hot and fresh. We had the pasole so yummy the Korean tacos with chips and salsa and the pulled pork sandwich. All three meals were full of flavor. They do practice covid safety which very few places in Cortez seem to do which made us feel more comfortable. Our only critique is that they don't serve alcohol to go and with the state allowing that right now why not do it read more

The restaurant was right next-door to the hotel and we were given a discount coupon so we figured we might as well try it because we were exhausted from traveling. Frankly I wish we did venture into town. The only good thing about it is we were able to walk there. The food was very average and I think I'm being kind saying that we got the tomato bisque soup and it was really salty yes a large portion but not very good. We also got beer which was fine and the main was OK but again nothing special and for the price it was not cheap food was just very average. So if you're in Cortez and you're looking for good food I would skip this place even with the hotel discount read more

My mouth is still watering. Fabulous food and service at very reasonable prices. Our server, Jaime, was attentive and sweet. We started delicious drinks, I had Carly's special (amaretto & OJ) with a cup of the tomato bisque soup, amazing! We split the house side salad - very deluxe with fresh blueberries, roasted walnuts, Parmesan cheese and house buttermilk tarragon dressing. I had the portabella sandwich with grilled asparagus, my friend had grilled salmon - both were great! We boxed 1/2 and topped it off with mini desserts - creme brûlée & s'more in a bowl - oh so good! The service was also really good, and we had multiple people checking on us. The food was okay. I had the Caesar Salad, and while it was good it wasn't great. Just a very run of the mill salad. This place was a gem! We really enjoyed the food, the service was wonderful and the COVID precautions were superior! We tried two soups: Posala and Sanbrosa chili, Both delicious! We also had burgers and the Rueben. I would definitely recommend everything, especially the soups! The servers both nights we went were friendly and very helpful. We love how all the help did all the jobs, the servers also were working as hostesses and bartenders and the bartender was also serving. This place was so awesome! My friends and I have been on a long road trip and honestly didn't think we'd find much in Cortez! But this place was delicious with amazing staff! I've never eaten here before and decided to try it out. When you go out to eat part of the experience is the food of course. There is also the atmosphere along with food presentation. I would have to say there isn't much atmosphere and the presentation was plain. The photographs on the walls were beautiful, but other than that it was blah. We started out with the spinach artichoke dip appetizer. The dip itself tasted good but the tortilla chips were plain and a lot of the chips were broken and were in small pieces. I ordered the rooster burger and my daughter ordered the fish tacos. The burger was okay, nothing special. The fries appeared to have been deep fried then put in an oven and broiled to get them a little more crispy. I had a couple bites of the fish tacos. They were okay and didn't have much flavor to it. Our server was nice but didn't really engage with us. I did notice the cook that was grilling the food outside had a blue tank top while he was cooking.
