    Roasted Romaine Salad.

We had wonderful service from Ashley! The food was delicious and we enjoyed sitting on the patio. Hats off to Denny and Gage for the great Roasted Romaine Salad, Ribeye Pork Chops, Crème Brûlée.

This restaurant was within walking distance of our hotel, so it qualified as a dinner contender. It was also the only restaurant within walking distance of our hotel, so that made the decision simple. We were told to choose any seat. The bar was full. First table was bussed, but not cleaned, second table the seat stuck out into the doorway that leads from the entrance into the dining room and the table appears to be bolted to the wall so we can't fix that. Third table was the charm. Once we got ourselves situated menus and water were brought. Wrapped flatware is on the table. After some conversation (beers on draft, etc.) we placed a drink order. I ordered a vodka soda with a top shelf liquor because I have many food sensitivities and the cheap stuff makes me flush. The drink was very strong and based on my reaction, made with their well vodka. Our waitress was excellent. Friendly, kept an eye on us, made suggestions. The food was good. The Reuben was just what you would expect. No twist, just a solid Reuben. The fish tacos description says they are spicy. I found them to be sweet. They are tasty. Nice combination of textures and flavors. My Ceaser salad had too much dressing for my taste. Although the flavor of the dressing was good the greens had wilted before I could finish. I must remember to request 'lightly dressed'. Located on a busy road, plenty of parking available. The interior is very nice and they offer outdoor seating on the deck.

Steak was prepared perfectly. Right amount of fat and salt. Reheated well. Asparagus was tasty. I liked the ginger in the rice. Thank you for the birthday dessert! Service - great Ambiance - ate outside on a beautiful warm evening. Unassuming, laid back place. Had a great experience, would return.

This place is right across the street from the Hampton Inn, so an easy walk to get some food. The building very clean, well lit, and well decorated. I had the fish tacos and a salad. Excellent flavor and very filling! The service was top notch as well. If I'm ever here in Cortez I'll definitely go back.

    Caesar salad with added chicken

Great service, great prices, and great food. We sat on the patio and they had comfy rocking chairs. We got the Anasazi burger and a Caesar salad with chicken and it was sooo good! The chicken was cooked so perfectly I wish I lived close to go back more often. For dessert some ice cream and a brown butter cake (a must try for those with a sweet tooth).

Best steak I've ever had! My entire family enjoyed their meal! If you are passing through this is a must!

This place is expensive and the food sucks. I had the salmon and it was dry and underwhelming. Not impressed at all.

It's 0759 on Sunday night. You close at 0900 pm. Why are your doors locked? Your staff is inside. You're closed? Won't come back, ever.

So fun and friendly they moonlight as professional best friends. The pineapple salsa hit like a tropical vacation I didn't know I needed. Nachos were great -- no notes. The pulled pork was so flavorful it made me question my plain-chicken era. The brisket? Fork-optional tender. And the mac and cheese was so creamy it deserves its own zip code. But the real villain? The Chubby Cow Taco. I don't know what sorcery lives inside that thing, but it now haunts my dreams in the best possible way. 5/5 stars. Will return. Possibly tonight.

Then I ordered the brisket grilled cheese loving every bite. The BBQ sauce is sweet and right up my alley. Our server was attentive to refilling drinks. The food was brought out hot. The baked beans had pineapple in it which added a new (not sure I liked it) flavor. Also had the sweet potato fries and loved dipping in the BBQ. Small dining area and if it's a pretty day there is seating outside.

Both ladies were excellent, fun and very very welcoming. Nicest people we have met thus far driving from Nevada. Always smiling, not hanging over you while you eat, and extremely polite. The food was absolutely incredible. Over a week traveling with numerous stops, La Casita De Cortez absolutely comes out on top easily. Homemade food with passion behind it and generous portions. Everything was cooked to perfection and tasted incredible. The drinks were also impeccable with a decent variety of margaritas and others. Stop here if you can and enjoy every second of it! The good things were the marinated fajita meat and fresh corn tortillas. Unfortunately the onions and peppers were charred and burnt black which meant the meat was way overcooked The outdoor dining area was nice but it was too cold for our parents so we sat inside. They didn't offer green chile salsa which is what our mom really wanted. Our server Elizabeth was very nice and seemed too busy but was kind to fulfill our repeated requests. Their portions of sour cream and side dishes to accompany the fajitas were skimpy. We had to always ask for more fearing additional charge after charge, but happily that didn't happen. Overall it was okay. I doubt I'd return.

We walked in and were immediately greeted by one of the bartenders and told to sit wherever we liked. We found a nice booth off to the side of the bar area. Our server Patrick stopped by the booth and pointed us to the food menu in the chalkboard. We also had another server but I didn't catch her name. They were both very friendly and attentive. I ordered the special for the day. A green chili Rueben & fries. Wow, this sandwich was so delicious! What a creative combination of flavors. Even the slaw in the Rueben included the green chilis.
