I reserved a spot on the AHA website (it was not located in this place's website for some reason) and then called to confirm my seat. The instructor asked if I could actually join a class THAT day which was awesome because I needed it ASAP. I give 4 stars because the building is down some creepy road that was super hard to find, I kept U-turning down van buren because there is no road sign to mark it. On the phone her accent made me think she said it was behind a "castle" but after I did a circle I realized it's behind a "car shop". The building looked super creepy from the outside and I had no idea where to park cause there was a bunch of closed fences, but I called the instructor and she reassured me she was on her way to open it up. So once i got past all the creepy building stuff and the 30min late start, Dr. Edith Amadi was a GREAT teacher. Like since my teacher in high school I have never seen someone care so much about CPR. She has been a nurse for a really long time and emphasized how important it is that we care about doing it right so that we don't kill someone on accident (like make sure their pulse is actually gone before doing CPR). She made sure she explained every part thoroughly and watched us to see that we actually were practicing the CPR correctly (in the past I have seen other instructors not care AT all about if you actually learned it). I learned the information so well that I only missed 1 question on the exam. I feel much more prepared to do do CPR now than I have after any other classes in the past. Wow wow wow! And it wasn't boring, thank you for not making it boring! I know they have CNA classes and are working on an LPN program as well. Let me start off by advising anyone considering the 5 week course to not underestimate the challenge. The EMT scope of practice may not seem very large, but the amount of knowledge you need to learn is vast. The course requires a 1500+ page textbook and you WILL need to learn the entirety of that book in the four weeks of lecture you have at your disposal. It's tough. Our class of nearly 50 had less than 20 graduates. You need to have a good work ethic, pay attention in class, and quite frankly being a good test taker will take you far. With all this being said, our instructor Crystal did a phenomenal job and prepared us better than I believe anyone else could have with the amount of material we needed to learn in the amount of time we needed to learn it. Combining a wealth of real world experience with an extremely impressive/comprehensive knowledge of all things EMS/Anatomy/Physiology Crystal did an exemplary job of teaching us what we needed to learn and preparing us for the NREMT after. I am grateful for the instruction I received and the experience as a whole.

She was an amazing instructor who gives memorization tips and realistic scenarios that require this knowledge. Lock in and read the dang textbook. Just read it, front to back. They literally make questions copy and pasted from the book, so having it in your memory, even if you skimmed through it, will help you. Lecture slides are a rvw for you after reading the chapters; do not rely on them. And please, don't clown around. You will make amazing friends and meet great people, so don't ruin the environment by clowning around and upsetting the instructors. 80% is required in the class to even SIT for the final, so take those exams srsly and memorize the terms and procedures.

My instructors were very kind and great at teaching the curriculum and I'm very pleased with the knowledge I've left with. The only issue that keeps me from giving them 5 stars is the fact that their financial aid representatives are a nightmare to get into contact with. I used my GI Bill to go to school, and for some reason they just forgot to submit my enrollment to the VA for two whole months. I had to talk to three people just to get in contact with the department head and remind them to submit the paperwork so I could get my housing allowance for the month and pay my rent. 1/5 experience on that end.

The reason for my review is because this is a new school, and WOW! They strive to get you to pass their tests, they motivate you, the new instructor is so amazing, and the school directors go out of their way to provide you snacks, refreshments, and they are very loving people, this is my 2nd week at this career college. The instructor is Ms. Dee, she motivates us and provides us with so much knowledge of becoming a cna, preparing us for the state exam, during theory she strives to make us successful and she teaches above and beyond, she is very kind and I am very fortunate to be in this school. We have a lunchroom and their are free snacks, water, coffee, doughnuts, etc.. for us to have during our break. This class is so cool and I am very confident that I will easily pass the state exam! They do guarantee you a job at a local nursing home and if you sign a contract to work for the nursing facility that you attend for clinicals, they have promised to reimburse you 1000-1500$ + all other benefits + your salary. This place is definitely in it for the money. They can't get new equipment but they can splurge on giving back to the students instead.
