I had the oatmeal here and it was very tasty! My mom had the breakfast sandwich and I took a bite and it was also very good. We shared a pastry, I don't remember what it was but all in all my experience here was good. What was especially impressive was the service - super friendly and helpful. Multiple Australians working here with adorable accents!

I know where I going for lunch when I was planning My Day in the Hamliton/Dundas Area. I always want visit the actual Detour Coffee Roastery in Burlington but never got a chance. But coming here seems to be better as I can drink the coffee and eat their food too! The patio area is so calm and peaceful. And if you are not a coffee drinker, there are a lot of other options including Ontario wines and beers and even house made Sour Cherry Pop and even Nickel Brook's Root Beer! We ended up ordering: Cappuccino ($3.33) and Iced Americano ($3) Reuben Sandwich ($11.95) The ultimate: Detour Smoked Meat + Bubbie's Sauerkraut, Melted Swiss Cheese and House Made Russian Dressing Rueben sandwich was amazing good. The meat was smoked perfectly. I really like their concept of locally sourced and house made ingredients! Detour Cafe is a great spot for lunch or just enjoy all their espresso and other drinks they offers. Now how I wish I have something like this in my neighbourhood....

Detour underwent a major reno in February. I think the place looks brighter!

Coffee and Food are of good quality, a little overpriced though. Working hours need to be extended too.

Best coffee in the country, food is great but a touch overpriced. Love the direction it is going, highly recommend for a flat white!

Fantastic coffee and food. I wish it was a bit more spacious because it's always really busy and packed.

My friend and I got the Rose Garden tower and my daughter got the Peony (kid) tower. My daughter got a lemonade with her tower and it was very cute. She loved the food and the tea set. The scones with the clotted cream and jam was really good. Soft on the inside and has a nice crust to it. The other selections were great and the brownies were rich. You need to pay for admission into the garden though, even if you have reservations at the tea house. It's off season right now, as we booked to go when Bloomland In Oz (floral showcase) was already finishing up. The Turner Pavilion was easy to walk to - there is a pathway and tunnel you across through the garden. The tea house is absolutely gorgeous. It's a beautiful space with lots of sunlight. My friend and I ordered the Rose Garden Tower set and chose two different Sloan teas to try. Everything was perfectly divided, delicious and filling. I highly recommend this tea house! It would be beautiful in the summertime when everything is fully in bloom.

There is also a bubble tea menu which I hope to explore the next time I'm up this way. We ordered "a brownie thing" on a signature buttermilk waffle with vanilla ice cream. (They also offer green tea and charcoal ice cream flavors). As you can see in the photo, the waffle was a decent size and was enough to share (if that's what you so choose to do). The customer service was pretty good, the aroma of the fresh waffles was amazing and the interior was stylish and welcoming. I highly recommend!

There were maybe 2-3 other tables that were taken. It does seem like a really nice place to study. The place is clean, with soft lighting, and lots of outlets! We ordered a Belgian waffle, with soft serve ice cream, & the mango cheesecake as topping. The total came to $15 which was a little surprising. The food took a little longer than expected. But it came out looking great. The swirl was sesame & vanilla which had hints of both flavors; subtle and not too sweet but it was a little icey rather than creamy. The waffle was fluffy. I did not like the mango or the cheesecake as they tasted somewhat stale. Overall, I think for $15 it was pricey and I would prefer heading to Toronto for a egg waffle for $3 instead.

Entry is a single door with a ramp on the inside. Servers were quick to seat my friend and I. Service was polite and timely. We both ordered our own "Teenage Feast" which included Two eggs prepared to your taste, thick cut bacon, sausage, choice of toast, served with dutch mini pancakes, butter parsley home fries / salad or half & half. I opted for scrambled eggs, home fries, and rye (they also had sourdough as an option!) The meal was very filling, could definitely be shared between two peckish people or saved as left overs for later. Meal has a blend of sweet and savoury, leaning more on the sweet side. The sausage is sweeter than others (I enjoy this but I know it's not for everyone. The Dutch pancakes are so cute and little, coated in icing sugar, and served with maple syrup on the side to dip. For drinks I ordered the Maple Foam Cold Brew. Make sure to stir/not put your straw at the bottom of the drink or you'll get a hit of maple! Once it's stirred it tastes great. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu (I'm eyeing the coffee flights)!
