For my first review of this new year (I know I'm late X_x), I'd like to express my adoration for Stacey! I know she's changed locations to a plaza near IKEA now, but she's still got the magic touch when it comes to styling my hair! I actually prefer her new location because the experience just makes it all about me! LOL. Sorry, but my introverted personality's awkwardly grown to the point I have a smaller threshold to socialize with people outside of my social circle XD Again, this makes it all the better. I had such an amazing first appointment at this salon with the ever talented Francheska! The ambience of the salon is so relaxing and smells so clean, and all of the staff was so pleasant and friendly. Francheska really took the time to listen to my hair requests and then educated me on how to better manage my curly hair which no other stylist has ever done for me in the past. I initially sent out an information request email, and Stacey immediately got back to me. From the beginning, Stacey was very friendly and thorough with her response. I initially met with Monica for a pre-wedding haircut. She did an amazing job with my layers and my hair grew out nicely for my wedding. On the day of my wedding, Monica did my hair and Stacey did my make-up. Monica was very patient with me in placing my hairpiece and when it got to my make-up, this is when my wedding jitters hit me. I was once a huge fan of this place. They completely messed up my hair on my last visit. I came in with virgin roots and grey ends. It had been at least two years since my hair was touched with chemicals. I came in requesting grey hair. I told her that if my hair wasn't blonde enough for the grey hair color I would be more than happy to just leave there as a blonde and come back in some months time to get my hair to the appropriate level of blonde before applying the grey dye. They insisted I was ready for the grey dye. Since my hair dresser had other clients come in, they had their receptionist, who is certified to do hair, finish my appointment. After being there a grand total of 6 hours, I left there with green blue hair, no hair cut and severe depression from the drastic change. I came in the next day and had expressed my concerns. The owner was too busy to see me in person so she had to call me back later that day. She did get back to me in an hour but as I tried to explain my concerns I felt as if she became defensive and continued to argue with me that I had already came in with "compromised hair" and that they did the best they could. She wouldn't let me speak and assumed that I wanted to come in for another chemical process when really all I wanted her to do was wash out the blue. They are nice overall and have good products but this was an awful experience. Turning my hair this unwanted color was traumatizing and the owner lacked any empathy for my experience. I told her I still wanted to have length to my hair, but still cutting off all the dead hairs, man. She's one of the only ones I have ever encountered who would say they would leave length and actually LEAVE LENGTH! And i love it. She was so nice, down to earth, understanding and very focused. While being the salon for 2 hours, I also observed the other workers and they did fantastic jobs on hair color, hair cuts, and being very proactive with their clients. I am very impressed with this place. And while making a reservation, they ask if you are allergic to any essential oils. Way to give a heads up. Love this place! Will definitely come back! If I could give -0 stars I would. WORST hair color ever! First of all I went in showing exactly the color I wanted and said I didn't want a deep root. I was thinking my whole head would be the same color. Nope! My own hair root level is about a 7 and ends are lighter. I ended up with a color that was 3 levels darker on my roots and a toner on my ends that looked awful. My hair hasn't been colored for a very long time and you could see the jagged grow out. It looked dreadful! Not only is the color light years away from my request, it looks like you know what on my head. Didn't even come close to matching. My boyfriend could have done a better job. I decide to come home and take it out. I can usually take out color easily. Not with this stuff. It's glued to your hair. I did Malibu CPR which always give me great success without damage even with reds. Nope. I had to resort to a bleach cap much to my dismay. Barely touched it! What in holy heck is in this God awful stuff?! I am still in the process of figuring out how to get this garbage out of my hair. I didn't want to bleach my own hair but it looks like now I have to. So not only do I need to strip my hair which was unnecessary before I went in to this salon, I also dished out $100 for this nightmare. Save your hard earned money and go somewhere else. I will take the chemicals, at least then they are easier to control and can come out when needed. Never EVER again!! Oh FYI. When you check out you are hit up with a page to give a review. Sort of puts you on the spot in the moment so perhaps that's why they have so many 5 star reviews. Personally I don't see what all the rave is about. read more

I have followed Jamie from the beginning! She was originally at Platinum Entourage and has just moved over to the new salon. I was hesitant about the organic part since most products I use are the complete opposite but needless to say Jam is amazing and I had to try it out. Not only did I spend less money but my color has never looked better!!! (I posted photos) The color system she used has made my hair look like blonde candy. I hadn't gotten my hair done in awhile and it was looking dark so I asked her to lighten up the ends while making it so my grow in wasn't too noticeable. I can't get enough of it!! Also purchased two products. One was a leave in spray which seems to be helping my hair grow and this bees wax serum for the wet and wavy look. I'm totally hooked on the serum- I get great curls and it controls my hair without being sticky or crunchy! This salon did not have any smell of nail polish and has a clean and sophisticated atmosphere. It took every measure for both customers and staff to avoid Covid-19. Francheska did shampoo and haircut. I would give her 4.5 stars. She has very positive energy and vibe. Her shampoo was great; she put a good amount of pressure on my scalp. I have been going to this salon since it opened. The prices are comparable to other salons which is surprising given the organic nature that their business is based on. You think organic, you think $$$. The colors last just as long as the chemical based dyes, without the odor or toxicity, and the air dryers actually purify the air! A few months ago I decided to cut my locks and just didn't have a clue what to do. Stacey, who BTW is amazing (I followed her over from a previous salon) gave me ideas and suggestions which helped me make the final decision. I have been in for a couple of trims since and every time she makes sure to ask me how I have been liking the cut, if I have had any issues with styling, and every time she is able to tweek it just enough to make it even more perfect. I always recommend this salon for hair and makeup and I love bragging about my stylist when I get complimented on my new cut. I have never had so many compliments on my hair. I was happy they could fit me in on a sameday appointment. When I had arrived to Detox salon it smelled so fresh and it was really bright and clean inside. Angelina was my stylist and she was really great. She made me feel comfortable and she helped me with some suggestions about how I should cut my hair based on how I told her what I would like. She recommended products that would be good for my hair but didn't make me feel like I had to buy them which was really nice, no pressure at all. Went in for a root touch up. No wait, easy location, salon was very well decorated and staff was friendly. Loved my stylist. So good so far for a first time client. Told stylist that my beaded weft was getting pulled up in a few days. My stylist noticed they weren't tight and kind of messed up and "offered" to fix them. I thought she just meant she would touch up a few, which I told her, but she did the whole head which I did not ask for. I didn't want to be charged for an extra service so I figured I was clear I was getting them done in a few days. After she began tightening my whole head for 30+ minutes I figured I would be getting charged. No biggie. Can't be more expensive than the other place, I figured. But... I was wrong. Shocker. She charged me to tighten my extensions more than my prior appointment was. I was surprised she charged me at all when she "offered to help me out" when I didn't tell her to do more than a few little adjustments and didn't tell me she was going to charge me. Whatever. I paid $180 for my root touch up, tip, and tightening (this was with 20%). I had good service. I didn't mind. BUT literally no less than a day later, my extensions and beads (much lighter than my color) had been poking out very noticeably. And my weft became falling apart!! COMPLETELY coming undone. So I called back to have them fixed and she told me she only tightened "a few" and that she would have to charge me again for tightening them (!!!!!!!!). I was a first time client, tipped generously, and she was saying she didn't tighten my whole head? I paid for a service that was clearly faulty and the salon did not want to compensate for it. Completely blown away by this. Never going back to this salon, and beware. read more

Found out about Detox Salon through Best of Las Vegas! Initially I was only looking at BOLV to find out who won the food categories until I casually clicked on the Health/Beauty section and found Detox Salon! I checked out their website and found out their hair color uses no ammonia, formaldehyde and other nasties! This stood out to me because I had a very bad reaction to drugstore hairdye years ago that left one of my ears and the back of my scalp peeling and red! I also have dandruff on top of that so all of this leaves me careful about each product I use on my hair. Went in to have partial highlights that was only 2-3 shades lighter than my black hair which Chris did a great job on! About 2 days later however, I suddenly had the desire to go lighter. Made an appointment with Chris the following week and he helped me get there by applying ombre highlights throughout that varied from blonde to light brown. Since then I've gotten so many compliments from family and friends that it still hasn't sunk in! Its a testament to his work and I'm grateful he also recommended me hair products that address my issues while leaving my hair in great shape!
