Too expensive, too crowded and you have to pay for everything here. Ridiculous. They have us packed in here like sardines. Feel like they just want money. Not very enjoyable. First and last time here

    Our camp site.

My rating is based on the amenities that I used, which weren't many. Memorial weekend isn't probably the best weekend to try a new park. Well, not exactly new but we haven't been here for many years when I was a different name. The park is clean, the sites on the small size, many smaller trees make getting into some of the site's difficult. Out site, 56, is fairly flat. It would have been impossible to use the fire pit as it's 6 feet outside our camper door. We ended up putting the table over it so that we didn't accidentally step in it. We might have been 20 feet from our neighbors camper, and where they needed to some into our site to drain their tanks every morning. Thankfully he was savvy enough to wait until breakfast was over. There seems to be a lack of courtesy among campers any more, cutting through sites, loud music, barking dogs, and the ()$&(:: electric car the raced up and down the road for hours. The quick hours were respected and for as many people that were here, the night was quiet. It's close to home, and a quick getaway for us. We are undecided on whether we will be back.

The super nice water attractions. Too bad they're so expensive and so often closed!

Detroit/Ann Arbor KOA If you're a regular camper at KOA parks,  you've probably come to expect a certain degree of quality: cleanliness,  friendly staff,  activities for the kids, you know what I'm taking about.  Well,  this KOA offers all of these things BUT the manner in which they're presented is the issue. They have a lovely clean beach that leads to a pretty lake with a waterslide and water "obstacle course". If your child simply wants to play in the water,  it's clean, relatively shallow and a really easy way to keep an eye on your toddler.  However,  they'll probably want to use the biggest attraction the park has to offer: a water slide and a swim course. To do that,  you must buy wrist bands that cost $10 PER CHILD PER DAY. (Do the math: 2 kids, 4 day stay (over the weekend) would add another $80 to your cost. (That also includes the jumping pillow which has been FREE at every other KOA we've visited. A jumping pillow ONLY pass is $6 per child per day an a tiny 9 hole putt-putt course is free.) The management has found several ways to take a lot of the fun our of what could be great times.  EVERYONE. has to wear a camp-loaned life preserver- even adults- and are supervised by YOUNG people  who have been deemed experienced life guards. (They appear to be 16, tops) People who use the water slide are also expected to wear preservers, but one "life guard" watched how quickly each person went down and got out of the way, so there was no need for the preservers. Makes it much more fun.  (And since parents are required to sign waivers on the way in, where is the problem?) When making my reservation I tried to get a waterfront site, paid the lock in charge of $30 for one of those prime sites and was told afterward that all waterfront and other desirable sites were booked so we'd been locked in to the site (144) we were originally assigned and didn't want.  The streets are all  gravel (large and sharp) and dirt, but we didn't experience the dust that others referred to. The gravel makes it tough for bike riders and  not conducive to little bare feet.  The sites here are VERY small. Putting our awning out would have put us nearly onto our neighbors site.  This might not have been a huge problem though since our neighbors were obviously seasonal residents along with many others here and didn't show up all weekend.  We tried to purchase milk at the camp store  and was told that they didn't carry it because it just sold out too fast (I'm no marketing genius,  but isn't that the whole idea of supply and demand?) Also the store closed before 5 on Sunday and had no firewood available for purchase. They weren't just closed- their firewood shed was completely empty.  Like it or not,  a campground with a large resident population is not as welcoming to transients as other campgrounds catering to people whose loyalty they are trying to earn.  The games and activities are the bare minimum.  Bingo winners were lucky to get a Hershey bar or a small tube of gum balls. Larger prizes , like "s'mores kits" were reserved for "adults." The organized community fire and dance party music Friday and karaoke Saturday night both ended around 10, but some of the revelers decided to continue their party until after two.   Having these two activities next to each other at the same time pretty much negated the concept of sitting around the "community" fire, conversing with fellow campers and potential new friends.  The music was EXTREMELY LOUD for the small group and space. The mini golf was free and new and odd. They had a great deal of space and used very little of it to develop a course that was...different. It really could have been larger and more interesting.  The jumping pillow was ruined by a woman without much sense of what many kids like to do for fun.  "No jumping on the side,  No somersaults, No sand. No "king of the castle", etc. I was expecting to hear "No soup for you!" (Seinfeld reference) Apparently, jumping straight up and down was acceptable I understand that the owners are trying to make improvements,  but far too much  satisfaction for current customers is being cast by the wayside.   Oh, in case I haven't mentioned it, the water attractions close at 7 on Friday and Saturday and weren't open at ALL on Sunday despite a rainy morning that turned nice by noon. The water attractions aren't available at all Monday through Thursday.  I'd have to do another drive thru in the future before bringing my grandkids back.  Hopefully this place will get some tips from  MANY KOA'S that are well worth the drive.

Only good thing is the lake and slide for kids ! Rude people ! Asked for a lake front site and was told they didn't have one for only two nights and there where 5 sites on water never used while there . When I entered I was reprimanded for taking my two small dogs in the office which we always do at KOA's . No cable either and our water was out for an hour first night . Drive past this one !!!!

While saying in the Ann Arbor if Michigan we picked this park because of proximity to our kid apartment. The park was clean, on Ford Lake and had a lot of thing for kids and families to do. The people were very pleasant and the park employees looked out for the campers. The only thing that needs to make it a higher rating is the roads and the sites. They need to invest in some gravel for the roads and the sites. Other than that it was great.

Lively campground with nice staff, beautiful views of the lake. Downside is they squish in to many sites, wish ours was bigger, stepped out of our travel trailer and almost fell over next sites sewer hose. Push out was almost against a group of small trees. Could not use awning, which would have been nice to keep ants from falling out of trees on to me! But this was camping not glamping, at this place anyway.

First off, I don't believe this campsite / RV Park is affiliated with KOA any more. It's a nice little get away, and the city annemities are very close by, but there isn't a heck of a lot of children to do. Sure, they have a small putt putt course that they charge $2 a person. They also have the bag toss game, but require a $20 deposit to use the bags. This past weekend, they're were NO activities for children to do, nor adults. No bingo, nothing... They have a mile long nature trail that is a nice little walk around the lake at this location. It's close by to our home, and a nice weekend get away from life in general..

Don't plan on riding the slide!! They mak every excuse not to let anyone go down. It's the big selling point, but the lady up there will make every excuse not to let them down $20 an hour down the drain! Wish I had that job!! This lot is full of ants and ant hills. I do not recommend

Large roots, our whole camp site was like this.

We were very disappointed in this campground, it is very run down and not taken care of. Our campsite was so dangerous to walk around in, the tree roots were a huge tripping hazard, along with a large hole that I tripped in. The beach is run down, no sand, just old dirt. The slide was shut down because of Covid, and so wad everything else. That's just an excuse, we drove to a park nearby so the kids could play. If you're just looking to camp, with no extras. You would be fine. The store only had a few items, not even ice cream. In my opinion it looks as if they are going to close down.

Don't forget to pack your bottled water and bug spray during the spring/summer months, and be sure to wear appropriate footwear for current hiking conditions. Several of the more rugged nature trails are NOT stroller-friendly, due to narrowing of trails and steep, rocky train in various areas, making tripping/falls a very serious hazard, as there is a steep drop off on either side of the trail in certain areas. If you have small children or are pushing a stroller, I suggest staying on paved paths that run the length of the park, situated between the main roadway and the woods. My family has personally encountered whole families of deer at this park, owls, eagles, coyote, and numerous species of birds and butterflies (particularly during summer months). This park features tons of play areas for the kids, with a new, large, modern Space-themed playscape meant to entertain kids of all ages and abilities. Tennis/racquet ball/pickleball and basketball courts available on a first-come first-serve basis. Numerous covered pavilions with grills for family cookouts, available for rent during summer months. Modern restrooms scattered throughout park. The park also features a water park, open during summer months for an additional charge (Turtle Cove Family Aquatic Center), featuring a lazy river, large splash pad with dumping bucket, water slides, and zero-entry pools feat bubblers/spray features for the little ones. For about $50 (local residents), you can purchase an annual pass for the park itself (not including water park access, which must be purchased on top of general park entry fees). This park is gorgeous particularly during autumn months (my personal favorite time to visit), due to the abundance of trees and the colorful changing leaves visible in every direction. A great place to take family photos, with stunning natural backdrop! During the summer months it's common to spot fisherman on the pier within the park, on the banks of the lovely Huron River. A great place for families to unplug and enjoy some physical activity, in a large, picturesque park that never feels crowded regardless of how many people are there! 5 stars!

I live really close to the Vets Park pool but I think Fuller Park's may be my new spot. First off, it's HUGE. I think maybe the biggest public outdoor pool in Ann Arbor? They have several lanes for laps, a deep end for swimming, and a shallower end for kids. They also have a separate waterslide tucked in the back (although it doesn't empty into a pool). While Vet's Park is better for the really little ones (they have more of a toddler pool with overhead sprinklers and such) Fuller is better for older folks. In fact, the last 10 minutes of every hour is "Adult swim." Anyone under 18 has to get out of the pool so the adults can have a bit of a peaceful float for 10 glorious minutes. It's not just great for swimming either. It's wonderful for relaxing as well. They have LOTS of lounge chairs and pergolas to keep you semi shaded. I spent several fantastic hours here this past weekend cooling off in the water for a bit and then heading back to my chair to dry off and read a book. It was lovely. If you're feeling peckish they have a few vending machines for beverages and snacks. They have a couple of ice cream novelty machines too. Oh, and they have a few picnic tables and areas for parties. $5 a day for adults, $4 for kids and seniors. They have resident yearly passes ($140 for adults or $265 for familes) or punch passes (10 punches for $40 or 20 punches for $80) if you don't think you'd use the yearly pass often enough for make it worth your while. The pool is pristine, the locker rooms are also clean, and it's just so spacious and great. I really genuinely love it there and can't wait for my next visit!
