Very clean, nice amenities. Sites are a little small but we appreciate the full hookup. WiFi is not strong enough to use Roku which was a bummer. It rained most of our weekend but I would give them another go if we were in the area. Don't know if they own the go carts etc but bummed we couldn't trade out our tickets when all outdoor activities were closed due to rain. My wife is a travel Nurse so a lot of times our reservations have to be last minute and we can struggle to find a place to setup, especially since we are around for 8-14 weeks. Harbor town initially didn't have any spots available (long term already there are allowed to renew their time if needed) but put us on a waiting list. I have never received a call back for a wait list, but I have now. Not only did they call with a cancellation that was last minute, but they also were super nice and made me feel like it was gonna be an awesome place. Well let me tell you, the down sides first. Yes there are train tracks nearby. NOT right next to the camp ground like the exaggerated other reviews. It's about 1/2-3/4 mile down the road. Yup you can also hear the train in the evenings at times. We may be a heavy sleeper because it's never been an issue for us. The other down side is.... Yeahhhh the sites are kinda close together but it's still not bad. There is still room for a picnic table and personal camp chairs and a fire pit. Oh yeah, the bathrooms still don't have very good ventilation so it's pretty hot in there when you take a shower. That is pretty sucky. I definitely recommend they get the fans mounted in there like the truck stop showers at Loves. Would make all the difference. The positive?!?! SUPER friendly staff. I had shoulder surgery and they VOLUNTEERED to help me out move some stuff around on my site. This was the dude picking up trash that morning. Main office is a bunch of sweet ladies that are fun to talk to, and the whole place is super clean. Traffic flow is smooth and easy to follow. Plenty of parking and you can even use the go cart place as over flow if needed. If we ever end up back in this area I will easily be calling Harbortown for a reservation, even if I have to show up with a bribe. :D read more

On my annual summer vacation trip in my Motorhome from Georgia. This year I am alone with my 11 year old grandson following my wife's untimely death during Hurricane Urma last September 11th. We have been on the road for 38 days since we left Georgia. I made reservations early for many sites including the one at this campground. I will say that it is one of the nicer campgrounds we have visited on this trip. However since I am alone I made careful plans to get a pull through site for my 44 foot Motorhome since there is only my 11 year old grandson to help me. Well this is the problem. I pulled into the site which is very nice, but there is no way any Motorhome could pull through it opens out into the end of a circle curve and I will have to back out. I went to the office and asked for help explaining my situation, the young lady on duty knowledges that they shouldn't put that large a rig on the site. I asked for assistance in backing out. It is a holiday week and the sites behind me are full and it will be difficult. She stated that is is the policy of the campground not to assist campers. So I am on my on. I leave in the morning and will update this post when I get to my next campground. Never ever use this campground until you drive over an look at the site they place you on A pull through may not be a pull through. read more

Harbortown RV Resort - Not a pull through for a 44 foot Motorhome - RV Parks Near Me - Monroe, Michigan

Advertises full hookups but less than half are. We came for an extended stay and although there were many empty full hookups we could not get one. We even said we would be willing to switch sites as needed to get a full hookup but they said none available. The showers are good sized and laided out well, but they don't have an exhaust fan so it is dripping wet and sauna like. Not acceptable. Very unpleasant to shower. Today a Sunday, we saw someone spraying the empty sites, when we asked if it was safe for our dogs they said no one should be in the empty lots. What are they spraying with? Is it safe? Very clean, large RV park is quite peaceful & relaxing. Spaces are large so you are not on top of your neighbors. Activities planned on weekends, and the staff is very friendly. read more

If I could score it lower I would! Never been treated so poorly in my life! 12 years I've been going there and for the 1st time this past weekend I had an issue. The managers rudeness was only topped by Dave the owner s rudeness. I wanted to speak to him about his power tripping manager but instead he raised his voice and told me I can get a refund. For the money, you get a nice value. It is a resort, NOT a state park, so yes, it's pricier. But, you have an extremely clean and well-maintained facility, with professional and friendly staff. The bath/shower rooms are impeccable, the water in the pool is crystal clear, the store is well-stocked and reasonably priced, considering it is a resort. There are picnic tables with grills, fire pits at every site, multiple sites with 50 amp service for large machines. We have a 41 foot motorcoach, and found it very easy to maneuver through this campground. Lots of things for children to do and young adults. You are a half a block away from go carts and a really nice putt putt course. And you are less than 10 minutes from Monroe, Michigan, with all of the amenities for shopping that you could need. This is our second stay, and we'll be back. read more

Seasonals have the run of the place and can do no wrong. Can't have rugs outside your rv cuz you might kill their clover. Bring a beer Cousy to hide your beer at the pool. No refunds no matter what. Trains, do ya like trains.. then you won't mind the train tracks 10 feet off their property line. We came in on a Friday and no exaggeration a train came through every 35-45 minutes. They didn't come through as frequent on Saturday. Put put golf was good, go carts were good, arcade was good. read more

Thank you to the front staff for helping us with our wood burning situation. We come here often and have always had great times making memories. If you want to come with your camper, build a fire and make Smores, and have cocktails and beers, then this is the perfect spot. I made a reservation at Harbortown, because my Parent's an I camped there for years. I had to call back within 10 minutes and they charged me a 10.00 cancellation fee. They claim that is there policy. Well it is my policy not to get ripped off by greedy merchants. I will never call for another reservation. On top that it took them two days to process the refund to my credit card shorting me the 10.00 and according the person that make the reservation and cancellation there would only be a charge if it was within 48 hours of the planned trip. I called 9/27/2016 cancelled 9/27/16 and the trip was planned for 9/30/2016. I am so upset with this campground for this practice. I called to discuss the charge today and spoke with Rachel and she was extremely rude. She kept saying I was threating her. She is unbelievable. She had no right to speak to me the way she did and to claim I was threatening her for asking for my money back is way over the top. I called back and I asked to speak to the manager and she again kept saying I was threatening her. I ask her how I was threatening her and she said, because you are asking to speak to the owner now. Well that is what you do when there is a problem with a policy and an employee. She kept telling me the customer is not always right. I can't believe a campground employee would take such an attitude. My Parent's spent tons of money at this campground over the years with taking their grandchildren there and my Dad just pass away this summer so we really wanted to go and enjoy the memories with our kids, but not a chance now. Our 3rd visit, one was in the winter. Year around campground, Very well maintained and you pay for it! Clean & big bath houses, swimming pool, Weekend activities for kids. Pet friendly, concrete leveled sites. Some trees, but doesn't help with shade. NO REFUNDS for any reason! We stayed in winter, After a month, I paid for the next week up front and the next day due to extreme cold our camper had to be turned in for repairs. NO refund, the manager just stared at me when I asked. even had to pay $20 electric we owed, he refused to use the weekly amt I paid toward it. NOT contractor friendly. They will let you pay prorated by the day, but if you have to leave early you will not get any of it back. The rates went up again this year. Yes, it is very nice, they can afford to keep it that way with no refunds no matter what situation (unless kicked out, according to another yelp review). This time we needed a monthly site but one wasn't available, so we paid for 2 weeks. After 2 days on our weekly site, the Manager called and said she has a monthly site available, but when asked if our payment for 2 weeks would apply, she called back with the answer of NO. So we couldn't have it. That makes no sense, all we should have to do is pay the difference. Not sure if it's greed, laziness or don't know how to use a computer to transfer site money or send refund. Ugh. Luckily we found a contractor friendly site and won't have to go back to Harbortown. And at a cheaper rate we can afford to do the extras there. The staff are nice and friendly. (NOT the man that runs the place) read more

Wish i could give no stars - I highly recommend you do not stay here. We checked in Aug 9 2014 with a 40-ft motorhome, a day early for a reserved week stay. The train horn in the middle of the night woke us several times. When we asked for a refund to leave a few days early due to lots of kid noise, too-tight spaces and the loud train noise, the desk clerk refused a full refund saying they wouldn't have any business if they let everyone do that. She did offer to let us check out immediately with half of the week's payment refunded. In other words, they want you to pay for 4 days but stay only one. Manager was "busy counting money" and wouldn't speak to me. Very disappointed in the lack of customer service. Sites are only 10 ft wide and very close to each other. We will never return. read more

Terrible Experience. The campground is poorly managed and charge customers for every little thing. By the time you are done paying all the extras you could have stayed in a five star hotel. The owner Dave and and his manager Rachel ride around on their golf carts and yell at the kids for playing and anything else they see fit. When you check in you are given a map of the campground along with 15 separate sheets of rules and things that you are not allowed to do. If you want a relaxing fun camping trip...you won't get it here. read more

We have stayed there many times. It is a very clean and accommodating park. Office staff have been very nice and helpful. We also have a 40ft with a 12ft trailer and never had a problem with the sites. They do have larger sites that you can ask for. The restrooms, pool are very clean. As for the trains they never have bothered us and that's were we recommend to stay in the back (240-249). read more

Very disappointed!!! Will not go back!!! Paid $156.00 for a 3 night stay in early April 2014 with limited facilities open. After chatting with a couple in the site next to us and them staying just one night, he commented to me he paid only $30.00 for one night. When pulling out I stopped in the office and confronted the owner (Dave) about my charges and told him of my findings of the couple only being charged $30.00. When asking his girl working the counter, she admitted to giving the couple a site for $30.00, not because he had A Good Sam's discount or any other discount, but after he demanded the price of $52.00 was to high and he would only pay $30.00 to stay the one night. No adjustment was recommended on the part of park owner Dave to me, so beware of this parks discriminating manner. read more

My friends and I recently stayed at Harbortown. We are seasoned campers and always have a pleasant experience camping. This campground is poorly run and the management staff need to learn people skills. We understand that there are other campers. It was not even quiet time yet and the manager came by and yelled at us to turn the radio down and be quiet. We are all very reasonable people. You do not need to treat us like children. We then were accused of having fireworks. The golf cart ran over a snap pop that was in the road from neighbor children playing with them earlier. Again management over reacted and sent us a nasty poorly written letter with misspelled words that we were not allowed to return. Really? It would have been professional to come and speak with us to get the whole story. Do they realize that 6 other campsites were on the same site? Where is their letter? We will not return and will not recommend to friends. We will continue to visit campgrounds that are well run and where the management staff are friendly and courteous and not yelling at campers. I would NOTrecommend this campground to anyone due to the rudeness of the staff. They depend on us to run their business! We are seasoned campers and understand that we are not the only campers in the campground. It was not even quiet time yet and we were told very rudely to turn down the radio and to quiet down. All the staff had to do was just remind us that in a few minutes it would be time to quiet down. Instead rudely told us that we were not the only campers in the campground that there were 250 other sites to think about. We did comply with his rude request. Then a short time later staff was riding around checking on things and rode by the campsite again. After passing the campsite, again, we heard a loud pop. Earlier children had been playing with poppers. The golf cart must have ran over one. The staff came back and accused us of throwing fireworks at him and that he was calling the cops. We are grown responsible adults who do know better. Instead of coming and asking about what went on our friends whose campsite we were at received a very rude, poorly written letter banning them!!!!!!! Why did they receive a letter when there were other people there!!! Never will go back and will not recommend this campground to anyone. read more

We stayed at Harbor Town RV in 2006 and was very nice. We stayed here this past July 4th, for a week and they only had activities for the kid on Friday and Saturday nothing during the week. Kinda boring. The park was only full on the weekend and a ghost town during the week. This is summer and I thought this place would be packed but I think there under new management. They also charge extra for everything Pull through sites, Holidays, Tents on your site for kids to sleep in, Additional Cars, Golf Carts, and Guest/Visitor. The Café is only open when they want to work it seems like the café was closed at 4:30 on the 4th of July really. The bath house was not that clean as our previous trip. The washer had some kind of green mold growing inside the washer. The Manager seemed kinda mad all the time I don't know his name but very grumpy and not people friendly. The trees are finally growing but placed in the wrong place on site the big rigs have a hard time getting in and out without scratching there Rig seen 4 have a problem the same problem. The money you pay to stay here you could stay at other places for about 40% cheaper kinda overpriced for what you get. read more
