Wow, really? I have to say, I was totally bummed out by my visit to the Wayne County fair. I've never been to a county fair, but I've driven past many, and I've known lots of County Fair-type folks who love them. And so here is what I envisioned (Oh, wait, their WEBSITE helped me envision this, too!): Lots of rides... think Long Island church festival quality Lots of games Lots of food Lots of people Lots of stuff to do and see Instead, what I got were a few rickety rides, a few games, I don't know if I saw much food other than the obligatory white metal box selling funnel cake, cotton candy, etc. There weren't many people or much to see or do. That being said, we did have some fun. I am prone to motion sickness and so rides aren't my thing but I've always wanted to go on a real ferris wheel. By real I mean: not a kiddie one and not one like at Navy Pier in Chicago while where it's tall it goes so slowly you're not sure you're moving. The Wayne County Fair did offer a Ferris Wheel, but it was sketchily old and had these white metal mesh wing-type things that prevented a good view or pictures. The fact that it was only us and two other people on our go-round was a little disconcerting, too. I don't know... at least I went on my first real Ferris Wheel, right? I was hoping for a Tilt-A-Whirl... another right I've been wanting to try out (the first time I was 4 and I cried the whole time because I felt so ill) but they didn't have one. I love the Tea Cups (at Disney) so we tried the Tornado, which is essentially eight arms holding eight pods of four seats that go around, up and down in a set motion and have a spinny thing. The mix of up down, around was enough. I didn't need spin. I could see this being a little boring for someone who DOESN"T get motion sick. For the ride afficionado, the Wayne County Fair doesn't seem to offer much. They had contests, crafts and a Mary Kay table (don't ask me, I'm just reporting) but we didn't check out that stuff. Over on the track there was a dirt bike show going on that looked pretty cool. Luckily it was only $2 to park and the rides took 3 or 4 tix each (dollar each) because the fair was, at best, disappointing. They need to consider making it bigger and better in order to stimulate Wayne County's miserable economy. read more

Don't make a reservation and then test positive for Covid because you will NOT get a refund. I made a deposit of almost $200 and they would not refund my money. I had Covid! This was something I could not control. They were rude and not understanding. I guess I should have just showed up there and exposed workers and campers. ‍ If you are considering this place ...don't. There are plenty other places in the area that have so much more to offer. read more

I think there may have been more food trucks than rides, but I did walk away with a pretty good corn dog. Plus, I won a little stuffed toucan. Who wouldn't like that? read more

Today's review is not favorable as I have stayed here before, but each time there has been a flaw - generally in the electricity. In the positive side, the staff is very nice, but it's an older park. Sites are very narrow and short. On this visit there has been a water problem. I'm being charged the weekly rate ( only here for 5 nights), and there is no water. I can empty my tanks at the dump station - but not rinse out my hoses - that's not a healthy option, so no dumping for now. Fortunately, my surge protector caught that I had bad electro at my assigned site, so I had to use a different site. Am told they may have water issue resolved this week, but I leave on Thursday and no work is going on. I will stay here again as it's the closest park to family and local attractions. Am very dissatisfied with the fact that the electrical issue had been ongoing since I first stayed here in 2005. (This is my 4th RV stay) read more

Wish I could give it no stars! The employees were rude and unhelpful. I wish I knew their names because the older woman with salt and pepper hair was the worse. I understand each campground has their own way of doing things, but when you tell a customer you can't do something can you do it with some empathy for the customer? "No, I'm sorry we only take cash." Or "I wish I could help you but we're out of firewood." These phrases work alot better than the condescending, snotty NO you're good at. read more

We went camping in late September and ended up here since the other local campground was full. I found it to be quiet and the grounds to be well taken care of. There were not many amenities but they did have a garden on the property that we were able to pick peppers from. The staff was very nice and quick to help. I would definitely recommend this location. read more

Do NOT use the dining hall at this place. The people that operate were very rude and border line racist. We completely cleaned top to bottom after our party and they told us it wasn't good enough. Then they gave us a hard time because we were cleaning up better and it took us past our time limit. The 2 ladies working that night (8-23-2014) were very rude to my children as well and unprofessional in general. So unless these are the qualities you look for in a banquent hall be my guest. Otherwise look someplace else. It's not worth the trouble. Even the Belleville Police that were called in thought those ladies were wasting their time. read more

RUDE, POOR COMMUNICATION AND MEAN STAFF! My wife and I attended Michigan Pagan Festival this past weekend. We were all set up to get electric for the three day festival. The electric never worked and when I went to tell the staff, they immediately pointed their fingers at me and said it was our fault. They said we were suppose to turn on the breaker and they never said anything about this to us when we got there. Their communication is horrible. And the staff are VERY RUDE! I couldn't believe how rude they were to us when we just told them the situation and the problem. It was as if they were annoyed we even walked in there to tell them. I asked a few other campers if they were having issues with electric as well and quite a few said they were. One of the ladies said I should not try to get my money back for the electric fee because she tried and the staff also said it was her fault for not turning on something she didn't know about turning on. POOR COMMUNICATION!! I wanted my money back for the extra electric fee only but they refused and said it was my fault. If you don't communicate with your campers, then how do they know their are extra things to do to turn on the electric? In fact, I think this was all a lie because we have camped their before, and never had to turn anything on. Just plug in our hardware and that was it. The staff were rude and we felt very unwelcome by them. They were nice when I paid, but that turned the second they had their money. We were also rained out, but that wasn't there fault although having camp sites on higher ground would help with rain and flooding. They suck and I'll never go there again. I'm going to also report them to the credit bureau and find out who their owner is and complain. They should not treat their paying customers so cruelly. read more
