How you could not give this company a 5 star rating is beyond me. Thanksgiving morning our gas stove stopped working. I forgot to check my tank for propane. I called in a panic due to the fact we had 25 guest coming for dinner. I reached a real human being!!!!! Not a machine or a guy from India. Who would of thought when making a phone call in the 21st century you would talk to a human. By 9:00 am Thanksgiving morning my tank was full and all ended well. read more

I let my gas run out through my own fault and called them on a weekend. They got right back to me and delivered the gas the next day. They even set up regular delivery so I would never run out again. Affordable too. read more

I recently took a 20# tank to be filled. Guys fill it up charge me 20.00 and now my grill does not work. Took it in and he checks it out by connecting an adapter to the outlet and lets out a little gas. Says it should be fine. So I take it back home and get the same results. Mind you, I have another bottle and tested the grill with it and it works just fine so I know its not the grill. So I go back up there for some sort of resolution. They say they will give me the gas at 1/2 price if I buy another tank. I'm not against buying a tank but this is no resolution. I would have gladly bought the tank with a free fill-up, but they refused. Not a way to run a business. Now lets just do the math here, I pay for a fill-up, they mess up the valve in some way and now they want me to pay for another tank AND half of the gas in the new bottle. So I am basically paying for a new bottle and a tank and a half. I would not recommend this company to anyone!!! read more

Worst service ever! I called, got an appointment and gave my credit card info over the phone. On today's appointment, The driver went to my neighbors house, filled their tanks and left! As the day passed and I waited, I did even call Detweilers to ask when the truck would be coming. I was told they made sure the driver had my order. Once I realized what had happened I called and I was told, "too bad, the guy made a mistake, oh well too bad for you we can't send anyone now." I was offered nothing! Not, we will come on Tuesday, not next time we come it is on us, nothing! My neighbors didn't even want propane, they now have 2 full tanks for free but I get nothing, not even a priority visit or another solution, nothing. What a bad way to treat a new customer, the company really does not care at all. I am thankful that a neighbor lent me a tank for the weekend. Please do not just give this Company your credit card information until you are sure they actually showed up and did the job. read more

They continue to bill me for tank rental, even though they have provided no evidence that they own the tank buried on my property. The continue to demand that I sign a contract to pay rent on the tank even though there is no rent specified in the contract. SHADY! Stay away! read more

We decided to add propane service to the house, I called around and made appt for estimates. Melissa from there office really nice and professional, set up Jeff to come out. Jeff came to house, explained every aspect of to plan, cost, permitting. In addition help guide me in gas appliance and log sets. I went and visited there facility to see some products they had displayed, again everyone really great. I'm moving forward with plans, will give more reviews. read more

These guys were our installers for Jessup's appliances where we purchased our new stove. The guy that came was friendly got right to work. He was nice enough to work with us in shuffling dogs around. When he shut off the ga to install the stove he accidentally shut off the pilot on the gas water heater. When my wife and I had a hard time getting it re-lit we called the Detweiller's emergency number in desperation. The guy on the phone apologized and then got right to talking us through the steps until he figured out what we were doing wrong. He told us a few tips about setting the temperature for efficiency and let us go. Jessup's and Detweiller's together was a great experience. I feel like my money was well spent. I buy propane for my RV and BBQ tank. Last year, it cost $2.50 per gallon for 5 gallons or more. This time, July 7, 2018 I bought 8 gallons for a price of $3.63 per gallon. That is a 65% increase! Consumer price inflation for fuel was "only" 21.8 percent May 2017 to May 2018. Go figure. read more

Stopped by to have two small propane tanks inspected and filled. Sign on building says honk horn, so I honked. Waited 5 minutes and then went into the office and was told to wait outside that someone would be there to help shortly. Waited another 15 minutes and while there were employees out in their shop working on trucks, no one showed up to assist me. Went back into the office and was told, "well he must be on lunch". Obviously, I left and went to Bradenton Propane and they assisted me quickly. Will never go back to these guys and will recommend Bradenton Propane instead. read more

My wife and I purchased our home in Sarasota in January of 2018. It is a beautiful home, in Palm Aire, with a pool and spa. Unfortunately, there was no pool heater. So, we purchased a gas heater which should be more economical than others, electric, etc. It has taken 3 months to get the heater and gas line installed. I was told, by Detweiler, that when the gas meter was put in they would be here the next day to hook up the heater to the gas line. The contact person is also very difficult to reach. I left messages 3 times and was told he was with a customer or on the phone and he would call me when he finished. That didn't happen as I never heard from him until the next day. I guess I am to much "old school." When I tell someone something, I do exactly what I told them I would do. I expect the same from others. The meter was put in Wed. (3 months waiting) but now Detweiler said it would be a 10 days before they could hook up the heater. My big mistake was paying for everything before the job was completed. I feel I have been moved down the work list to the bottom. I am very disappointed with the lack of customer service. I have always been told that when a business gets paid they are not in as big a hurry to complete the work. That seems to be very true here. read more
