I need to check my RAM 2500. It showed engine lights and codes and it ran rough and loud. Towed it over with AAA in no time. They ran a diagnostic. 179 $. A little spendy and it is not credited towards the bill, which I was not so happy about. But, they found what the problem was the same day and called before digging deeper into the engine. It was a bigger problem than expected and none of the 3 technician I spoke with before mentioned that the noise could come from there. I gave the ok to fix it. What is not great is that of that over 700 $ was labor! 200 $ or so in parts and then I was charged 25 $ for shop supplies ( that I found ridiculous). But, I guess that is what is done today. The problem was fixed and a smaller issue taken care off by the GM who was not only friendly but seemed more than experienced. 75 $ AAA discount was applied as posted on AAA website. My truck is running and I am ready for a longer road trip and feel confident it will be running well. Very friendly service, clean shop all the way. Labor costs are high. I think they are not justifiable. But compared to dealerships like Firkins or Gettel, shops like Begley are a bargain ( compared to those). Thing is, there is nothing you can do about that. I will take my business to this shop from here on because the way the staff took care of my things and the GM Jason did excellent customer service. With a 3 year labor warranty I feel pretty good about riding my car through the states. Oh, and I certainly will bring my oil change to them :). read more

I had the TPMS light flash on while traveling through Bradenton. I stopped at Begley's, and they treated me like a longtime customer and friend. Their service was prompt and professional. Within 20 minutes of my arrival, they located the puncture in a tire that caused the warning light to appear. They promptly sealed the leak and checked the pressures in all the other tires. In my opinion, the charge for this service was considerably less than what was appropriate. If you live in or visit the Bradenton/Sarasota Anna Maria Island area and you need new tires or tire repair, They are the folks to see! If I were in Tampa or St Pete and the car was safe to make the drive, I would cross the Bay Bridge for their help! read more

AMAZING! I'd been putting air in my tire daily because I was afraid to trust a mechanic to look at it, but finally, I had no choice. My nephew LOVES buying his bait at Begley's, and he told me to try there, they appeared to have an actual repair shop and he didn't think it ever closed. I thought my nephew was crazy, but I called and got the friendliest voice who told me to drop by at my convenience and they would help me. Sure, I thought, help me to buy new tires.....UGH! I finally worked up the courage to stop there, and as I pulled up wondering where to park, Morgan came out and cheerfully asked how he could help me. When I told him about my tire, he said not to worry, give him a few minutes. He jacked up the car before i could get out of it, checked all 4 tires, made sure they were all at the correct pressure, then went to work to find the problem. He not only didn't stop when he didn't see the nail at first, he kept on until he found the nail, plugged the tire, then fixed my windshield wiper cleaner hose. I was back on the road with my car completely fixed in less than 30 minutes and for less than $20! His manager even stood behind him as he offered to fix the windshield thing! This is the place to go when you don't know where to go! Morgan is awesome, but his manager seems like the fella who keeps everything running smoothly! Good Old Fashioned Service, Trust and Value! Stay away! Moving to Fl, I was looking for a good car service shop in my new neighborhood. Made an appointment to replace a light bulb in one of the head lights of my car and for an oil change. Dropped car off at the appointed day and time and picked it up 1.5 hours later. The light bulb was not changed, and I was told they forgot it, but gave mea "recommended services estimate to be done ", costing around $1,100. I have my car regular serviced and up to date and I know what has to be done and what is recommended by the manufacturer! When asked about the light bulb, he said he would have one for me by 2 PM the same day. I sad I would be back by 4PM to have the light bulb replaced. At 4:05PM I was told that he got the wrong light bulb. He apologized again and said they are so busy.... I wasted several hours to get a simple scheduled repair done and it was not done. I felt that I was lied to and the whole additional estimates of work to be done was a way to get money out of me. I will never go back to this station for any service, repair or to get gas!!! read more

Owner beware!!!! This review is for 5818 Manatee Ave W. Begleys (Westbay) auto repair. This place is a complete rip-off to seniors and women. My 89-year-old mother took her car in for a broken trunk latch on her Hyundai elantra. Pete told her that it would take 2 hours to replace this part and cost $340. They had to order the part from Hyundai. I checked into this and found out that the genuine OEM Hyundai part was only $30 from Amazon. I also did my own research and found out that the latch only has two bolts in it very easily accessible and a wire on each side that just detached. It would take around 15 to 20 minutes to replace this. Once I got the part from Amazon I replaced it myself in about 15 to 20 minutes. It was very easy to do and the cost was $30 for the part. Begley automotive is a complete rip-off. Do not go there. read more

LEAST PROFESSIONAL SCAM ARTISTS Gas pump sensor was broken and spilled about 4 gallons of gas all over the ground and on my car. Went in the shell and asked for assistance and a refund for the wasted fuel. A guy from Begley came over and told me to "get the f*** out of his store" and when I told him it was inappropriate to use that language with a customer he lifted his arm to throw a punch. Talk about anger issue problems. NEVER GO HERE. read more

New to Florida from NY and needed an auto mechanic with a great reputation--competence, integrity, reliability and a business that's fair and reasonable. The majority of reviews were fairly good so I took a chance. Happy to say I found the right place at the first visit. My phone conversation to book the appointment gave me a warm feeling to begin with. It continued in person with the staff who was quite professional and accommodating. Great customer service. I needed not to have feared being unpleasantly shocked. When I received my bill, I was blown away at the price for work completed...plus what the mechanic deemed necessary. Took our truck in for new motor and transmission, cost us over $13,000.00, transmission has never been right. Taken it back several times over transmission they began blowing us off so now we have a truck sitting in the driveway with a pool of transmission fluid under it. read more

I DO NOT RECCOMEND THIS COMPANY!!! My belt broke while I was driving with my two little kids (new born and 17mon). I hardly moved wheels so I stopped on first gas station where Begley car repair was. I asked for help as kids were very afraid and cried. I had to leave the car there until I will get permission from my husband to fix it. Lady, the manager (Julia) was very very nasty to me and yelling at me and threatened to tow the car. She told me that it will be 150dolars to fix car. But next day she send email with bill almost 1500dollars to make car run. She couldn't justify the repairs to my husband and he had the car towed to the dealership to be fixed and they fixed all car for 350dollars. Fortunately we didn't get scammed by them, but again I will not recommend doing business with them! read more

Halloween morning I realized the Alternator on my 2003 Odyssey was bad. Being newer to the Bradenton/Sarasota area I didn't know what to do. I called the area Honda dealership and received an incredibly high quote and a very ambiguous time frame for when they could get this job done. They also could not provide a loaner car and said they would need to dig into the problem (meaning look for more to sell!) I created a post on a neighborhood sharing forum asking for referrals for a reliable service station. I was passed the name of Begley Auto Repair from another one of their happy customers. I'm so happy I gave them a call! - I was helped by very courteous people - They confirmed they could get a part for me that day within minutes - The price quote was a fraction of the dealership quote - They were able to refer a tow service who was prompt and reliable - I was called and told when the work was done - The work was done on time, for the exact amount quoted! To any and all women I ask you to steer clear of this place! Begley Automotive is very much stuck in the 50's with its treatment of women, both to customers and their own employees. Hash words, backhanded remarks, and outright insults will head your way if you dare comment on their very ludicrous up charges and lies. To them you know nothing and will go out of their way to demand your "husband" take charge and authorize the unnecessary repair to your car. Begley Automotive is no stranger to discriminating minorities either. Anyone who doesn't look caucasian may as well be talking to a wall because here you won't be worth their time. On multiple occasions they've ignored or down right refused to assist individuals of color. As no their staff also reflects a lack of diversity. Needed 4 new tires. Made appt, tires at shop day before appt. Told me would take 2 hrs to put tires on and do alignment. Decided to wait in area. Even with multiple calls asking when it would be ready took them 6 hrs and 30 minutes to get it done before I got my car. My time is important! I will not be back. read more

I took my car in for engine problems. Had an estimate of about $1100. After almost two weeks to do the repairs I was told were needed, they tell me the engine needs to be replaced. It only cost me $1500 to find that out. When I dropped the car off it was running horribly but at least it could be moved, when I picked it up the engine stalls as soon as it's put in gear. Maybe they should have done a more thorough inspection before doing $1500 in repairs that accomplished absolutely nothing. Can't even begin to properly describe how disgusted I am over this. Take your business somewhere else. Me, I'm filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. read more

Noticed that my tire was low on the back right of my truck so I pulled around the back of the Shell station because I have my own digital tire inflator I just need to hook it up to an air hose , when the manager walked out of the bay I asked him if I could use his air hose he said absolutely not I have to go around to the front and that I was blocking his Bays , the cars in this Bay were being worked on they were going nowhere and then next 30 seconds , l said I just have to fill one tire I have my own inflator , he told me again to go around the front , I went around to the front and they have their own tire inflator permanently attached to the hose but no tire pressure gauge , my guage is built into my digital inflator , this is the second time this man has been very rude to me , I went down to the other Begley shell were they're very polite and happy to help me out read more

Took my Sons Ford truck in for transmission repair and to change out the two front tires with tires we brought it in. After picking up the truck later that evening a front tire blew. Looking at it you could see that the two tires were too big and rubbed against the wheel well. We also noticed that the tires they removed which were the better of the four tires they kept. And left the Bald tires on the rear of the truck. When we called to let them know what happens they stated we did what you told us to do. There was absolutely no concern for the safety of anybody! They knew the tires were too big they knew the tires were going to rub they never bothered calling to say they were too big or educating us that there was an issue. They collect their money and could've cared less about our Son or Grandchildren that were in the vehicle when the front tire blew. NEVER do business with a company that does not care about its customers!! read more

Fair warning....they have 3 stations 2 Shell and one Sunoco on Manatee. Between mechanics leaving and not knowing what they were doing my car was moved between the three garages over SIX (6) months. Worse they broke my radio, dented the door and the owner did not have the courtesy reply to my email even though he said he welcomed customer comments.
