Waited over 5 weeks for a simple purse handle repair. After calling, I was told it would be ready the next day. When I arrived, the owner couldn't find it, then pulled it from a bin buried under shoes--misshapen--and the repair hadn't even been started. I had the most poor customer service experience from David! I had brought a pair of shoes 6 weeks ago( 5/21) I called last week 6/19 asking about my shoes that needed new heels, he had no idea about my shoes. He told me he would call me the next day to confirm completion. 6/24 I called today to see if they were done, he again had no idea of my shoes. I am moving of out state & need the shoes, he was very rude & stated he was short staffed& if I quit talking to him he could back to work & fix my shoes. I stated that he was rude & should not take out he anger in customers. He continued to be rude, After my phone I went to the shop & picked up my shoe. I took my shoes & left. As the owner, David does not deserve to treat customers rudely. I will not support his business. I am a nurse & I would never ever treat a person so disrespectfully stressed or not. NEVER AGAIN!' I have been going to this cobbler shop for years. As they are now clearly under new ownership. I took a pair of new sandals that the leather elastic had torn and left them. They said it might take time to find the same matching color leather. He had another pair with the same issue.. 6 months it took them to get the leather.. fine it was winter I went to pick them after they had called to say they were ready. Unfortunately It was almost 45 days later. When I asked for the shoes he said the order had been zeroed out and my shoes were donated. He took 6 months to fix them.. needless to say they were brand new shoes. He had many shoes in brown boxes and bins in the front of his store and looked like a hot mess! I asked if they were donating all of those shoes as well, he said he would like me to leave as we were done here and he did not want my business. NEVER AGAIN! read more

As a follow up I returned to possibly have same boots resoled and Dave argued with me about my honest review I left saying he had loads of work and 2 weeks to do a 15 minute repair was necessary. Understand that totally. But he argued with me about his staff incompetence calling me saying my boots were ready but in fact were not and then hurriedly finished them . Any business owner that argues with a potential new business customer doesn't have the right mind set and is wrong period. That's bad for business. I am glad I left my review and I will gladly take my loyal and continued business to the boot connection or elsewhere . The owners here brag about how great they are and knowledgeable but anyone that does that is using that as a sales gimmick . Being competent in your work and treating your customer with a friendly attitude even if you disagree with them is a better way to retain business. read more

I brought my daughter's favorite dress boots to Deux Soles. They were in pretty bad shape, she had worn them down past the rubber heels and some of the leather on the heel was frayed. Dave did an amazing job restoring and polishing them. My daughter was very happy they looked almost new! The service was great and the price was reasonable! We have been going to this cobbler shop for 30+ years when it was under different ownership. I am very happy that we still have a great cobbler shop in the neighborhood! read more

My mom brought in her leather boots for repair, that she purchased while traveling. They lost her boots and put off discussing the issue with her for 4 months. Finally he told her that he would shop around and pick her out a pair of boots of his choosing. That is unacceptable, and when she stated that she pick out her own pair and provide a receipt he would not agree. He then demanded a receipt before doing anything else. At one point, he tried to give me someone else boots. Such a joke!! read more

I told him no thanks- I would rather pick out my own pair and he can reimburse me. He did not agree and demanded that I show him a receipt for my boots -which are several years old- how absurd! I dropped off a pair of boots in December. They said they wouldn't be able to get to them until after Christmas; I told them no problem. In February I called and was told they would be started soon. In April I called and was told mine were next in line. End of June I stop in and my boots were still not even started, so I took them back. No explanation or even an apology was offered, she just handed my boots to me. read more

New owner apparently. Some stitching came loose on a pair of casual leather shoes. Stitched loose section down with white thread on brown shoes and then marred the finish by polishing the stitching brown. Also *very* sloppily stitched down the other side, without being asked, to reinforce it (apparently). Same stupid white thread polished to brown, marring the finish on the other side. Gave my monk straps a decent polish, though complained about being asked to do it. Not a great experience. Won't be returning. read more

The owners of this shop are the most wonderful people in the world! I was across the street at my Ted's Tailor (also, a wonderful man and very talented tailor) and I had asked him if he could repair the zipper on a clutch. Ted said he was worried he might ruin the stitching and told me to see if Cobbler Corner could fix it. I walked over thinking they most likely couldn't. My 94 year old grandmother purchased this clutch during WWII and told me I could have it as my something "old" for my wedding, but the zipper would need to be fixed. I explained to the two owners why this was so important to me, and the gentleman came out, looked at the clutch, took a tool to it for a couple seconds and handed the clutch back to me. I said, "I guess no luck, huh?" He told me to try and zip it . I did, and I almost shed a tear of pure joy and gratitude. I cannot say enough wonderful words about this establishment. I will be lifelong patron after today. read more

My boots are back!! The owner was very knowledgeable and did a fantastic job bringing my favorite boots back from the brink of death. Completely new - and upgraded! - soles and repairs to the inside as well. I'll definitely be back. This place is a total find! Nice couple that owns it. I brought a purse in to fix the handle and a grommet on my husbands boot needed replacing. Both things were finished earlier than the date they said they would be. The women at the front desk suggested a leather polish that has restored my purse to the day I bought it. They had to open my husbands leather boot to replace the grommet. An easy fix would be to go through the leather and inside fabric...they took the time to open, replace it and sew it back together. Have a feeling there aren't many stores around like this. I will be taking any fix to them from now on! read more

The customer service here is amazing. I took a wallet that was unusable in for a repair and they took it apart and searched everywhere for a zipper to replace it but could not find one. Because he had taken the zipper out he felt he had ruined the wallet. He apologized when we went to pick up the old wallet and had purchased a brand new wallet of the same Fossil brand and exact same style. I would take anything and everything from shoes to purses to this place to repair. You rarely see this caliber of service and customer care. read more
