I took two rings in for resizing and repair. The owner seemed especially annoyed with me. I later read Google and Yelp reviews for his shop and found that this behavior is common. I went in a few weeks later to pick up my finished items. He again seemed irritated with my presence. He stated the total cost in one digit figures then dashed away to run my card. I quickly realized that this was considerably more than I had expected. To verify, I restated the price he was saying in the actual dollar amount. If that's the price, that's the price and I'll pay it. However, his response and explanation was beyond rude. When asked to sign my receipt, I noticed that the price he'd just stated had increased. I questioned this. Again his response was unnecessarily curt, informing me that there is always an upcharge when using a credit card. I'm sure there's probably some sort of sign in his shop nailed to the wall amongst all the other signs that states this. I signed the receipt and informed him that I would not be doing business with him again. His response, "Good!! Have a nice day!" I told him, "This is why you get bad reviews." He arrogantly responded, "Yes, I know! Thank you!" I'm still reeling over being treated in such a disrespectful manner. If you are new to our sweet community, please know this is not the norm for Temple's small business owners. Side note: He did a really great job on my rings. If you don't mind being treated badly and paying an unforeseen amount, this is your place. read more

Very knowledgeable and professional. They typically do repairs quickly and you can trust them. Family owned and operated, which you just don't see much these days. Would highly recommend them for all of your jewelry needs. They have beautiful pieces, custom jewelry, and can do repairs on just about anything. If I could give this place NO stars I would !! The guy with the beard that was working there was a complete jerk!! My husband and I are in the market to have a ring made. So instead of going to a large chain jewelry shop we agreed to give our business to a small business. Excitedly we found this place... BIG MISTAKE!!! The guy was soooo incredibly rude and dismissive to my husband and I . When I asked a simple question that he didn't have an answer for he just flipped out- He wasn't normal. If he is what this small business represents this place needs to be CLOSED DOWN!!!! This place is a wicked evil place! DONT GO HERE!! I could not agree more with the other unhappy customers. I was not treated nicely at all but that turned out to be a blessing in disguise. I went across the street to Lacovista's and was treated extremely well and couldn't be more pleased. So, the hateful store owner who insinuated that it was my fault that I was looking for assistance with different options And He had no interest in providing any assistance. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! In February I dropped off a necklace to be fixed. He said it will be done quickly in the next couple of days and will call when it's ready. About 2 weeks went by I never got a call back so I called them and was told they couldn't get ahold of me. I stopped in to pick it up but forgot my ticket in a different purse. So I left to grab the ticket and returned within 15min. The old man there was flat out rude and started to raise his voice at me when I questioned them for not receiving a call that the necklace was ready. They claimed they called me but couldn't leave a message. I told them I use my phone for work and receives calls all the time so I'm not sure why theirs didn't go through. I had them call my cell phone while I was in the shop and it went through and I answered. I showed it to them and the old man got defensive and walked away. The lady that was there apologized for what happened but the old repair man was just flat out nasty. I noticed on the ticket if your jewelry doesn't get picked up in certain time frame I think 60-90 days they get to keep it. So Go elsewhere if you want your jewelry repaired once again STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! read more

Very bad experience. My wives ring lost the main stone out of it so I went in a couple weeks ago to Devereaux Jewelers to get a estimate to have the diamond replaced. He quoted me a price on a stone including labor that I was afraid would be to small for the ring. I asked how much for a stone twice the size and he said twice the price. I decided to go for the larger stone. He told me he would call me when it was ready I. A week to ten days. I was over in that area today and I hadn't heard back so I stopped in. Well it was ready. Not only was it twice the price but also another 30% on top of the quote. I questioned him on it and he got defensive and confrontational. I asked him to do what was the right thing. He kept denying what we agreed on. He was getting loud and demeaning so I paid his rip off price. Warning stay away from this dishonest individual. read more

I get compliments on my ring EVERYDAY!! I am the EXTREMELY happy owner of a Deveraux original. My now husband went to Deveraux's for my engagement ring and we had my band made from there to perfectly match it. I wanted something unique and vintage/antique styled, Robert helped my husband create a ring far better than what I could have imagined. The center stone is an Aquamarine, Robert got 3 different stones for my husband to choose from, (different qualities and sizes to give a range of price to choose from). My husband started the process in early December of 2013. The shop was quite busy since it was Christmas time, but Robert stayed in touch with my husband as he searched for the perfect centerstone. When he proposed, I literally was speechless at the beauty of this ring! We ordered my husband's wedding band through Deveraux's as well. We have appraisals for all 3 pieces. It may be "pricey" but you most definitely get your money's worth in customer service, satisfaction and in great quality! Robert was GREAT to work with and we are customers FOR LIFE! read more

I took an expensive (omega) watch in the store several years ago for repair. After a month or so they said they were waiting on parts. One of the pins in my watch kept coming out so I took it in. Not 100% sure of which one it was, told him what was happening and which one I thought it was and he ended up changing out a different one. Asked to check the battery since the last time I was there (3-4 years ago) was told my watch had 2 batteries, 1 for the time and another for the date. Opened watch and was told it only had 1, did not replace..total almost $20. Wore my watch and notice pin was still coming out. Took it in and was told, he had replaced a different one so he replaced it, another $14 just saying "replaced another pin". Will not go again. read more

I have been a customer at this business since they opened. I have purchased rings here and had maintenance and repair work done here and really liked the owner. I always felt like I could trust them and get a solid deal. A little pricey, but get what you pay for, right? I was married and have been a widow for 9 years. It has been a hard road raising a child alone and have found someone I would like to remarry. Decided this would be the place to get our wedding rings. As an after thought, I asked if he would trade in my previous set of rings because it was just too painful to wear the old ones and needed to start fresh with new husband. He said "SURE!" He told me he would have to keep them over night to clean so he could see exactly the value to give me a fair price and he would "call me tomorrow". Did not get a call all day and after work I decided to go ahead and give him a call and was kind of excited about getting new rings that were going to cost about 2000.00 We had paid $2500 for my previous set and it was total 1/2 carat of diamonds and 14K gold. New ring was 1/4 carat and only 10k gold. I felt it would be close to the same price...even trade or I might owe him a little because he has to make money to stay in business. He said "I'll give $150". At first I was confused, thought...wow! He's gonna give me rings AND $150....NO...$150 towards the purchase. I told him I didn't understand why so little, he said "its used, it's not worth anything. All I can do is take diamonds out and scrap the gold" I said "well, we paid like $2500" ...his response was "well, I don't know why you paid so much because gold wasn't worth near what it is now" SO, you insult me with $150 low ball, then further the insult with "oh, your jewelry was never worth anything to begin with" ...top that off with, when I arrive to pick my ring up, he stands there like he hasn't just spoke with me and doesn't know who I am or why I was there and waits for me to pull out my claim ticket to give me my ring. SMH. I am SO disappointed. Needless to say, my wedding rings will be purchased elsewhere. read more

My mother passed away and I wanted to get some advise on her diamond and gold jewelry. I wanted to get some pieces appraised and some put into new mountings. I should not have walked into this place. I have never been treated so rude anywhere and I am pretty sure he was the owner. Before I even showed him anything he snipped out $55 per piece. At that point I knew he did not want to be bothered. Keep in mind there is no one else in the store. I then just asked how long would it take you for one ring in particular. He very rudely said "at least three or four days probably more, it's Christmas" I really had not thought about that and I guess he was busy although nobody else was in the place. Whatever, he could have handled this so much better but instead wanted to be an asshole. Good for him, glad he has so much money and business he can be an asshole. But I would save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere unless you like assholes. read more
