This was our first time here. We were on the hunt for a birthday gift for our girl. We had initially wanted to give her a necklace from Tiffany's. She didn't care for the necklaces we picked out so we decided to visit several jewelers here at the Galleria. She wanted a gold necklace with a diamond. DeVons was our fourth stop, we were almost ready to purchase on our third stop. After coming here and looking over their inventory, we chose DeVons! Sam, was our salesman, he was so knowledgeable, he was very helpful in finding the right necklace she wanted. My daughter wanted a necklace that was shorter in length and although the other jewelers would've charged us, DeVons didn't. Plus, we got a bigger diamond and thicker gold necklace compared to the other places. After they altered the length, it was Perfect! It's a big year for my wife and I, as we both turn 40 and celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary. I've always secretly wanted a Rolex, even though I felt a little (lot?) over-the-top admitting it. To me, it was like driving a Lamborghini -- sure it would be great, but who can afford that?! Anyway, when I finally worked up the courage to try for the Rolex, I was surprised to see zero watches available. Turns out, that's been the case for years but I had no idea because I'd been going through my Apple watches and hadn't thought much about actually stepping up to luxury mode. In my mind, if you want a watch or other item, you just roll into the store and get it. Not so with Rolex. I was feeling pretty bummed that I finally figured out what I wanted, but it looked like it would be impossible to get it for what could be a very long time (I know, first-world problems). Still, I told my wife that I met a great guy named Dave at DeVons and we had a lot in common. My wife went into the store the next day and came back saying she also talked to Dave and that he was just as I described. A couple days later I bought her a necklace that Dave (with the great help from Randy) helped me pick out. I was going to dinner with my wife and wanted to give her the necklace when our youngest kid couldn't rip it off her neck. To my astonishment, she hid a gift-wrapped box in her purse as well. I opened it and saw the most amazing watch I could imagine smiling up at me. I haven't taken it off of my wrist since that night except to sleep. I know it sounds superficial, but it feels so good to have this watch. As I reach the "back 9" of my life, I can wear what someday one of my sons will wear and hopefully think about his dad with good memories. I went to the store and it seemed like he briefed the salesperson on my impending visit. They were very helpful with getting an understanding of the style and budget I was looking for and recommended a great selection for me. They offered free gift wrapping, which was stunning, complete with a fancy wire supported ribbon...better than anything I could've done myself. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. They are also a Rolex AD and I put my name on the list for a GMT-Master II BLRO knowing how hard they are to get. My wife and I stayed in contact with Matt who was open and honest with us about the process. The Staff as well as the manager Mathew, need to be a lot more genuine and pleasant. I bought my first Tudor watch at Devon's two years ago from Mathew which was an OK experience. Two years later, I walk into the store and the manager Mathew doesn't even recognize me or greet me even though he's seen me standing there waiting... Another salesman Tony, was taking his time (at least 15 mins) getting my watch from the back room which was back from the service center. From the moment I walked in, no greeting from anyone (it was busy but, it's easy to just look up and acknowledge someone) and even walking towards the back counter area a girl and Tony were sitting there and didn't say a word or even look up at me. After I gave Tony my paperwork, it took him at least 15 mins or more to get my watch?! Still, no smile or thank you for waiting... After I received my watch Tony said, "Ok, That's it" I looked at him thinking, are you even going to offer me a bag or do I have to carry this watch box in my hand around the mall?!... Tony then said, do you want a bag? To which I said, Yes. This jewelry store needs to teach it's staff basic manners and to treat each customer with kindness and respect. Although, it was not purchased through DeVons (it was a Rolex from the 80s) he was willing to look at the watch and help with the sizing as I said before. After Matt helped with the sizing, we had a genuine conversation about the current state of the luxury watch market. I brought a Rolex in to get serviced and picked up a Tudor while I was there. Tony took great care of me and didn't pressure me at all. The store was clean and I had my kids with me so the staff gave them cookies, lolipos and juices to keep them happy. I would like to give a happy customer's shoutout to the DeVons Jewelry store in the Roseville Galleria and Steven Gallegos especially. This summer my husband asked, "Wouldn't I like to have a new ring?" "Totally, a huge Yes!" Followed by.....thank you XOXO. We traveled allot looking many places for the perfect anniversary ring including the well known advertising jewelry stores, big box department stores, and some smaller independent jewelry stores to see what was out there. We are long time DeVons customers having gotten my diamond and gold nugget "going steady" ring from their Sunrise Mall store in 1979, and my wedding ring from their Arden Fair location in 1990 and miscellaneous other pieces along the way. True to form I found the perfect anniversary ring there, again! We met Steven Gallegos at DeVons and he is great at listening which is important. We brought the two prior rings in for "servicing". Re-antique filling for the nugget ring, and re-alignment and soldering of the engagement and wedding rings that had been an issue for over 30 years when they were first combined. Both of these issues, Steven took care of under warranty! As for the new anniversary ring, it was too large and the jeweler could not downsize it because of its characteristics. So Steven went back to the creator to get one made in the correct size. Since the ring was being made, my husband also inquired about enlarging the center stone. Steven and staff found the right diamond to make the new ring perfect. All told I think it was 5 weeks before I took home my beautiful anniversary ring. We made a number of visits to DeVons and everyone there was very helpful and just lovely to discuss gems and settings with. Steven is great to work with. If he had any questions he conferred with other DeVons staff to get other expert opinions. We really liked all the staff. We especially enjoyed being able to speak with their skilled jeweler, and the customer service from all the staff was top notch. This experience made for a very happy anniversary memory. Tony is awesome. Always wanted a nice watch so went in last year to inquire and to at least try on a Rolex. When I first went there, there wasn't any watches in the displays but he would go through the catalogue and just chat about the selection they carried. I would always stop by when I was at the mall and when they finally got some display models he would let me try on as many as I wanted. Probably one of benefits of having kids and going early to the mall. And well right before my 40th bday he gave me an awesome bday gift.
