It was a tiny little pin that broke and needed to be welded together or full band replacement. He ended up smashing the area where it flexed allowing it not to flex anymore and it was a little crooked going over the wrist, it wouldn't reach around properly. He charged me 20- then told me he would replace the band, he used an older, ugly band that didn't match my sons previous and called it a day. When I drove off I put the band on the seat and the pin and band fell off, he didn't even use the right pin. I had to drive to a new location in Roseville to fix my son's watch, at least the second charge was only 10.. but, come on now..

I've been bringing my watches to Scott Doan and have had a good experience with him over the years…read more One day when I went by his business in the County Club Mall I noticed that he had screws for eyeglasses in a small bin along with the bins he had for the various watch parts. I asked him if he could replace a missing screw in one of my pair of glasses. He said he could. He wanted $3 to remove one screw from from the glasses, and another $3 to install another screw that matched it. He suddenly became very defiant, and appeared angry for some reason. I take it that he is out of his area of expertise working on eyeglasses. He fixed the glasses so they would work. When I got home I noticed that my glasses kept tightening up on the side that he put the "matched" screw in. I got out my eyeglass screwdriver which is a single blade type for my glasses to loosen the screw that he put in some so that it wouldn't bind. The "matched" screw that Mr Doan put in had a phillips head! The screw he put in did have the correct pitch thread, and that was it. The screw he put in was very tight, and was way too long. I couldn't loosen the screw he put in, so I had the throw the glasses away. I do realize that Mr Doan the owner, specializes in watch repair, cleaning, replacing the battery, and watch band sales/replacement. It is best for him to stick to watch repair. Mr Doan accepts cash ONLY, gives NO receipt. All sales are FINAL. If you don't mind paying cash, and don't need a receipt, See Mr Doan. Forget having him work on on your eyeglasses, I did.

Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing and honestly confusing. I came in with my newborn son and my mom, and after waiting a few minutes without being acknowledged we walked up to the front desk to ask for help. A staff member assisted us and showed a few bands. When I found one I liked, I asked if it could be made in yellow gold. She said she would check with the vendor and offered to clean my engagement ring so I could look at the bands with my clean ring. After a few minutes, she returned with my ring, and when I asked to try on another band, she told us she was now helping someone else and couldn't assist us further.This was surprising since she had been helping us the entire time up to that point. I was ready to move forward with purchasing a ring but never received an answer about pricing and was told no when I asked to see another option. Overall, a very disappointing experience.

I just relocated to the Sacramento area and since my wife and I have no previous relationships here…read more(buisness or personal) we are in the process of finding a new everything - (dentist, mechanic, dry cleaners etc...) and since we don't know anyone that can give us any recommendations, we are on our own and forced with doing the old trial and error method. This is what I have to say about my experiance at Ray's. Now I know this isn't a deal breaker and its kind of small, but its nice when you are actually welcomed when you walk in the door, I find most places don't even care enough to acknowldedge your there, let alone be able to help you with your problem. I felt very welcomed here from the start and can see they are happy I am there too. They had the right batteries in stock for my watches, then showed me a huge selection of replacement leather bands that I needed, even knew why my Eco Drive watch was no longer charging and were able to repair it right there in house (no wating to send it back to the manufactuer). By the way they were going to do the work right then if I had some time to wait, which usually never happens when I go somewhere no matter if the place is busy or not. I know I am being long winded but its so nice to finally get someone that knows what they are doing and can actually help me, when you are relocating 3000 miles from one coast to the other you end of doing a lot of buisness transactions. Many places stood out but not for the reasons you want. Ray's made an impression on me, and family owned places like this are becoming harder and harder to find, with so many people choosing cheap prices in exchange for absouletly the worst or non exsitent customer service, forget about quality. Ray's is a welcome relief from the way people are use to being treated.....and by the way Ray's prices were the same as the big box stores. They made an effort to remember who I was, that I just moved here and started a new job. If you want to feel like your business, time (pun intended) and money are appreciated and tired of being treated like you are interupting their personal call or text message. Then give Ray's a chance to earn your buisness, you will definatly feel like your needs are being met and you might even leave with a smile.
