I have brought my dog here twice and am absolutely thrilled with the service. The prices are very reasonable and they provide an array of services, including applying the flea/ tick medication. They are also excellent with my rambunctious Chihuahua/terrier mix - he always comes back happy and smelling great. The other day I I also needed to find a new harness that fit perfectly, and they let me break the packaging on three harnesses before we found the right one! My cat needed his bum shaved & the vet told me to try a groomer. I had previously had a groomer come to my apartment to shave the cat but they were not able to hold him down. I was very anxious about this because I didn't want the cat to be too traumatized and especially, I didn't want the groomer to be hurt if the cat attacked her. When I called Dewberry's Dogs and Cats Too, they reassured me that they are familiar with shaving cats and that it wouldn't take more than a few minutes. I took my cat Pudding to Dewberry for grooming today. I have to say that they did a great job and my cat looks very good and also smell good now. Before she has lots of knots (long hair persian). My cat was a little bit upset after the grooming. but i totally understand this since I tried to cut her knots many times and pissed her off every time (my bad). Last time, i took my cat to do grooming in Pe#$O, cambridge. they cut the hair very short and my cat looks bad and skinny. And she was Wet and shaking in the small cage and waiting for us to pick her up. so I will never go back there again. read more

After constantly switching between different groomers when I lived in the South End, I am happy to say I found a place to stay now that I live here in Southie! The owner's are super friendly and take great care of your pet. You can tell by the questions they ask that they care about your pet and your wishes. My dog has had trouble getting his nails clipped for years and after my 3rd or 4th time here he's calmed down and trusts the staff with his little paws. We have been taking our Miniature Schnauzer, Molly, to Dewberry's Dogs for almost 5 years now. I wouldn't even think to take Molly to anywhere else to be groomed. The most consistent and reliable aspect about Dewberry's Dogs is the fact that the owners, a wonderful family, are both extremely friendly and caring and I NEVER have to worry about leaving Schnauzer Power there. They truly believe in your dog being in an environment that is safe and a haircut that is second to none. This reality gives us the peace of mind to be able to leave our little best friend with no worries. Molly looks consistently great every time I pick her up. I am constantly being asked by people who own schnauzer's where I get her groomed because she looks so great. I can't say enough about their expertise, I just rely on it. I love this place. I have been bringing my 4lb Maltese, Coco here for about a year now .. It's a family run business And they are very friendly & helpful. They will listen to you & do Just what you want in a cut .. I keep my Coco in a puppy cut and She comes out looking like a little princess every time! and Smells good too.. I love this place has it all; Healthy food, treats; especially The "Maddog Treats" Liver is Coco's favorite. I went there with my dog for a nail trimming and found it to be an awful experience. I have had my dog for five years and never have I found a place that has made so many of his nails bleed by cutting the quick. My boyfriend was literally covered in blood from the woman who cut my dog's nails cutting at least four nails that bleed. There was blood on my boyfriend's t shirt, blood on the floor, blood on the dog, etc. The most absurd part is that the owner/woman cutting his nails blamed US for making the dog nervous. Right. We love Dewberry Dogs! We started going there 7 years ago and just loved it! The family is super friendly and they're always willing to accommodate our schedule. We made the mistake of going to a large groomer and they clipped our girl's nails so short she would start shaking if we got near the place. Dewberry Dogs takes the time to dremmel the nails down with no issue. I took my Birman kitty here to get groomed and they cut her in four different spots on her belly. One was longer then an inch. She had to go to the vet immediately for stitches and surgical glue, antibiotic injection and now has to wear a cone. Never go here! Awful!! read more

This is one of the few places that will give kitties a haircut that is not a lion cut! They are very flexible and easy to setup an appointment with. We have been bringing our Mini Schnauzer Whiskey here for the past few months and are extremely happy with them. We just moved to Boston in Jan. and I went with them due to the good Yelp reviews. You guys were right on the money! Whiskey freaked out the first time we brought him in (normal since he is quite neurotic) and then the past 2 times he has been great. No crying or howling. The owners and staff are very friendly, they are open 7 days a week and they have our dog done in about 4 hours. Our old groomer outside DC kept him all day, charged $25 more and our dog freaked out every time we drove into that parking lot. Whiskey is happy, we are happy and he always looks great when we pick him up. read more

I love Dewberry's Dogs I would NEVER NEVER NEVER go any where else they are all so amazing. I have two dogs: Kaya who is a 67lbs Native American India dog, and JR who is a 7lbs mutt. Kaya has high anxiety she is petrified of all people, to the point of where she will pee or poop herself, and has even gotten a bloody nose, and JR well he is just a active 7lbs dog. At the begging of when I started taking Kaya and JR to get groomed I would have to drag Kaya into the shop as she pooped herself from fear. When I final got her in the shop after 5 mins of hell, she would run in the corner and pee. Michelle, Lora, and Bill would all tell me it was ok and they would clean up her mess. I was so embarrassed and wanted to clean it up, but they would not let me. When Kaya ran to the back of the shop she hid under a self, and they were all soooo good to her that they made that her spot. When I would bring her in she would go right to her spot. They not only groomed her, but they help me help her with her anxiety. I have called Michelle crying, because I thought I had to give her up because she was so destructive in my home. Well Michelle help me through it and gave me pointer on how to help her. Now 2 years later with all of there help Lora, Michelle, and bill gave me, Kaya will now walk in with out pooping, peeing, or getting a bloody nose. As of Last week when I took her in, she for the 1st time walk around the store with out her tail between her legs. I am so great full to have such amazing people helping Kaya in more ways then one. I have a Yorkie who is tough to groom. He's big (11lbs), and he still has floppy puppy ears as an adult. I've taken him to at least 5 other groomers in Boston, but Bruna is AMAZING. She always gets his face and ears PERFECT! She nails it every time. And Baxter really Ioves her! He's a little moody with most people, but every time I go to pick him up, he's following her around the shop just so he can be near her. I really like the atmosphere and the staff at Dewberry's. Jennifer, the owner, is really nice and makes all of her clients feel comfortable, particularly those with puppies who may be getting grooming services for the first time. My only complaint is that the cuts can be somewhat uneven. My dog has had some great cuts there, and then some that are just so-so. They are very good about correcting a problem if you aren't happy with the cut. My suggestion would be to find out who cut your dog, and if you were happy with the cut, request that groomer the next time you go. read more

I recently started bringing my pomeranian puppies to Dewberry's for grooming and was delighted with their recent puppy cuts! The owner is very patient and kind with our yippy pups. I was thrilled with their new cuts and never have to worry about their safety while they are there. We first brought them to be trimmed and I would have liked more fur to have been cut, but I think I was not clear enough. They are awesome!!! I live all the way in Davis sq but the groomers around here all had not so great reviews. I listened to yelp and went to Dewberry's and I'm sooo glad I did. It's a family that owns the business and you can tell they really care about dogs. they even gave my dog a green mohawk. he looks so cute! on my way home everyone was commenting how cool he looked with his mohawk. one thing-- they don't have a spot to write in a tip if you pay with a credit card so make sure you bring cash to tip! read more

I take my review of pet services very seriously. I'd taken my pooch to multiple places across the city to be groomed and was never very happy with the outcome- whether it be they crated the dogs too long, they weren't thorough, or they didn't seem to really love dogs. Dewberry is now the only place that I will take Marty to get groomed. When you walk in, you can tell that these ladies are truly dog-lovers. They let the dogs roam free in the back with them. They do the most thorough job of cleaning him so that he smells great for days! They also let me know if they see anything that is a red flag- a sore ear, bump in his skin, etc. The ladies of Dewberry are fantastic, love the dogs they work with, and have always been nothing but over-friendly and accomodate me on short notice. I have brought my 14 lb. terrier mix to Dewberry since I adopted him 5 years ago. They have always been fabulous! Apparently I haven't been there in a year though, because I was told the original owners sold and now there are new owners. I won a $50 gift certificate from a fundraising event about a year and a half ago and the new owners very kindly honored it! I thought that was very nice, they certainly didn't have to. Dewberry's Dogs and Cats Too is an amazing place to take your pet to be groomed. Not only is the family kind and knowledgeable, but they truly love animals and that shows. I brought my six year old Maine Coon cat to be groomed for the first time in a long time. He can be feisty and very ornery when anyone touches his butt (hey...I can't blame him!) but being a long-haired feline, he needed to get shaved down to get some of the knots and matts out. Word to the wise: Dewberry's won't take cats on Saturdays as it's a tremendously busy day and kitties can get distressed with all the bluster. I agreed to bring Oliver in on a Friday morning. I dropped him off at 7:45 AM and left him in the good hands of one of the owners. She opened the cage and pet him, cooed at him and tried to put him at ease. They explained very thoroughly the process they would take with him...clipping his claws, shave-down, bath and trimming him up to even out the shave. I was told that depending how he handled each process would determine how far they would go with him. If he got too stressed out by anything, they would stop and let him calm down before trying to continue. If that didn't work, they would stop so he wouldn't go into distress. The whole experience would be sensitive to his reactions and not a horrible experience where he would be forced to endure more than he can handle. The thoughtfulness that goes into how they approach animals was wonderful to hear. At 10:30 AM, I called the store and was told Oliver was hanging out under the dryer. The shave-down had been hard for him - especially the butt and back legs - but he was calm during the bath and the dryer was doable. The lady said they were going to give him a chance to calm down before attempting to trim him up. Because I had an appointment to get to, I arranged to pick him up later in the afternoon around 2:00 PM. When I got to the store, they brought him out to me wearing the most adorable little bandanna. He smelled so clean and was trimmed up so nicely that I barely recognized the fella! If you have a long-haired cat, you'll understand when I say that he looked like he lost 10 lbs! The entire cost was $95.00 and to me, it was well worth it. Oliver will be back for another "spa day." read more

I took my new cat here three days adopting him from a rescue organization. He smelled bad, had gunk in his fur and was a scared little guy. I asked them to wash him, clip his nails, and if possible, shave the little guy. He was ready about 3.5 hours later. When I went to go pick him up, I was told that they weren't able to shave him because he was too scared and they didn't want to traumatize him. Seriously ?! That is SO INCREDIBLY THOUGHTFUL !!!! They honestly could have washed and shaved him and charged me extra but they actually put my cat and his situation first. If the location wasn't too far from me, I would take my cat there all the time. The only thing that cat owners should be aware of, is that there are dogs in the back that are allowed to walk/ run freely. The cats are placed in the same area but in cages. If your cat is a scared cat and/or has had a troubling past, it may be too overwhelming. With that said, the owner is the sweetest lady who will put your animal's need first. read more

My Yorkie has been going here since he was a puppy. The owner is really sweet, and you can tell she loves her job. On occasion there have been up to five yorkies there and she lets them play once they are groomed which i like because i hate to think of my pup being stuck in a cage all day. Once he was cut a little too close and bleed a little - this was not pointed out to me, which i would have preferred. Another time she said she cut his hair shorter on one side because he moved, but i couldn't even tell! The give treats to first time clients, and also sell some dental products and healthy dog food. I took in my old cat to get groomed here at Dewberry's. It was our second time there and both times were extremely positive experiences. My cat is a fairly big, long-haired cat and can be pretty ornery. I used to believe that it would be impossible to give the cat a bath, but Dewberry's proved me wrong. After both groomings, he came out chipper and active - not normal for such an old kitty! You can really tell that the staff at Dewberry's give all of the animals lots of love and attention.
