I had the seasonal Tito Santana pizza at the Dewey's in Fairlawn, Ohio yesterday evening. It was unbelievably excellent. There is something cruel and unjust about making the Tito a seasonal offering. You need to get to Dewey's and try this pizza. Then you can join the law suit I'll figure out how to file once they take it away. The Tito Santana is simply that good. read more

I didn't expect to find such good pizzas at my local shopping mall. The place is never too crowded, booths/tables are pretty clean, and service is fast. It's a good place to go if you are going to Summit Mall or other shopping locations around the area. read more

Visited Dewey's with the family recently. We had our periodic family dinner outing and my wife chose this restaurant. Upon arrival, the place was nearly empty, which we enjoyed because we were able to seat ourselves. Our waitress was very friendly and she brought us some of their tasty Coke products. For dinner, we requested a large pizza. My wife requested Caprice on her half and I requested Edgar Allen Poe on my half. My son requested pepperoni and sausage on his pizza. In a short time, our pizzas were delivered. I let ours cool off for a few minutes while we chatted. Then I sprinkled some red pepper flakes on my slices and chowed down. The pizza wais fresh and delicious, as always. I very much enjoy scratch made pizza and this place serves it up to order. We'll be back. read more

Visiting friends in the area and wanted a casual easy meal. We found a great place in Dewey's! Went early on a weekday evening, and we were seated right away in a corner booth. Pizza menu is extensive, can make your on combinations, plus at least 5 salad choices and calzones. We had a hard time choosing, but ordered a house salad of mixed greens, yummy soft cheese, toasted pine nuts and a good and not too astringent balsamic dressing plus the pizza --13" meatball pizza with very flavorful sauce, cheese and lots of sliced homemade tasting meatballs. Server was friendly and super attentive, without being pushy. Would definitely recommend and come back if in the area again. Great job! read more

Consider the star for the food, but even that is generous. The crust is bland. Many of the toppings are not fresh. The balance of flavors on specialty pizzas is lacking. You will not find good food here. Nor atmosphere. Most especially, you will not find good service. We have been looking for a pizza parlor for a time. All of the parlors have stopped taking dine in orders. Delivery is fine, but sometimes, we want to dine in. We were excited to find Dewey's. Being at the mall is definitely annoying, but a full service parlor with a small but decent beer selection seemed ideal. The inside was clean and the show of the kitchen crew tossing the dough provided lackluster visual interest. However, the service was incompetent and antagonistic. We were there on the freezing day before Christmas. The roads were terrible. The dining room was empty. The service had plenty of time to be attentive. The service was divided between two young persons who must have been teenagers. They behaved as if they had never had a job before. They were just barely friendly, not knowledgeable of the menu, and untrained in serving a family with a small child. Despite their lack of skill, they were fine. If all we had to deal with were a couple of young, incompetent servers, it would've been fine. However, about 1/3 of the way through our meal and almost immediately after telling our server that we would likely take some time to allow our child to eat at their pace, another employee came over. Without even asking us, she attempted to shove a pizza box on our overcrowded table. The staff had put three stands down the center of our booth. Clearly, they were unaware that pizza stands are designed to hold two pizzas. As well as three stands, we had three glasses, three plates, pepper and cheese shakers, and napkins. Our table was OVER full. No one should have crammed so much onto our table...actually, Dewey's should use bigger tables. Pizzas take up space, and we had ordered small pizzas. Everyone had ignored us, and we had moved a stand and tray to a neighboring table. The young, unskilled servers, despite having zero other tables, never offered to clear our table to make space. So over comes this new person. Without asking us anything and certainly without trying to clear some space, she proceeded to shove an empty box onto our table. It would not fit. There was no room. The box would have hung off the edge of the table. When I asked what she was doing, she said she was being helpful. When I told her we didn't ask for a box, we might be taking our time to eat, and that there was no room for it, she stormed off. She said, "I'm not arguing with you." Clearly communication was not something anyone ever taught Rachel, because she refused to engage in any appropriate communication. We finished our meal uncomfortably. We cleared another tray off our table and had to ask a server to take our plates. We had to request a box when we were done eating, because no one could be bothered to provide us any service. Could the service get worse? Yes. Since pay is at the register, we had to interact with Rachel again. Instead of apologizing for the poor service and rude interaction, she doubled down on her bad behavior with faux, sickening sweet greetings. I asked for her name and she provided it and asked for mine. When I told her it was none of her effing business, she made sure to read my card so she could use my name in a pointed and sarcastic manner. I had enough and called her an a**hole. I have zero tolerance for such poor service and Rachel is certainly deserving of the title. Despite the poor service, I tipped our servers $35 each. They were unskilled and untrained but with Rachel as the apparent manager, I didn't want to punish them for such a toxic work environment. read more

I love Dewey's! Definitely one of my favorite pizza joints in the area. You can dine in or order for pickup...I usually order my pizza online and pick it up in store to take home. They have several unique pizzas and salads and a good variety of toppings to create your own. Most recently I got artichokes, roasted red pepper, and fresh basil and it was delish! The crust is thin and the pizza isn't greasy...it doesn't make you feel super heavy or gross after which is a huge plus. I wish they delivered but definitely not a deal breaker. My favorite chain pizza spot! Deweys is one of my favorite spots to go when I just want to eat a lot of food. Their pizzas are absolutely delicious and they don't make you feel too heavy afterwards. My favorites are the killer veggie, Ryan's inferno, and the caprese. They have a ton of other great options though as well as the option to create your own. You can also do different toppings on the two halves of the pizza, which makes it super easy to split with friends. When I dine in with friends they always have amazing service and are very receptive to specific requests and substitutions. The pizzas are also delicious to go and I recommend heating the pizzas up in the oven to crisp them. Just make sure not to get it too crispy. The pizza isn't the only amazing part though. Their salads are super unique and taste super fresh. Their calzones are also great to try if you want to switch it up. They are super doughy and cheesy, a great option to try, but I wouldn't recommend getting it to go. read more

Danielle and I had to run to my office to drop something off and we went to Dewey's for lunch as it was nearby. upon our arrival i was reminded that the current pizza special was an elote pizza and it intrigued me. though i still had reservations. we agreed to order a small one and a small "go-to" pepperoni and banana pepper. folks, i gotta tell you, my life was changed that day. i'm of the mindset, normally, that pizza requires red sauce. that's just my preference. this pizza had no red sauce but was F'ING INCREDIBLE. it had olive oil, mozzarella, fresh roasted corn and poblano peppers, red onions, queso fresco and was finished with a drizzle of housemade Tajin crema after the bake. we opted for NO CILANTRO because why ruin a good thing? seriously, i loathe cilantro. we devoured that pizza - each trying at least one piece of the other before returning our attention to the main attraction. i immediately regretted only getting a small. though it may not have warmed up well - with the crema and all. the crema, by the way, was the sleeper here. just delicious. i wish this was a permanent addition to the menu because i don't live near a Dewey's so i'll likely not have another chance to get it before it's gone. anyway, if you're reading this, stop. go immediately to Dewey's and get yourself (and me) an Elote pizza (no cilantro). read more

I must admit, given that Dewey's is a regional chain, a regrettably self-important part of me didn't want to like Dewey's as much as I do. However, I have yet to have a bad experience here. Their menu offers a wide variation of speciality pizzas that are a little out of the ordinary compared to other speciality pizza joints. The "Porky Fig", a clever play on Porky Pig, features a fig jam base paired with accompaniments including prosciutto and Gorgonzola. The sweet fig jam and salty prosciutto are a perfect match. This time around we tried a half seasonal pie with arugula and prosciutto and a half porky fig - both of which were delicious. On Wednesday, they offer retail wine night to pair with your perfect pie. Swing by for a pie and a bottle of wine and you will not be disappointed! read more

Dewey's has become my family's favorite pizza place in the Akron area. Part of what we like about their pizzas is the dough. At some pizza places the dough is just a delivery vehicle for the sauce and toppings, but we think Dewey's dough and crust is particularly better than the rest. I also like that you can get one of their wildly creative specialty pizzas along with a plain pepperoni slice. And either option is good. We happen to also like their salads, if you're into that as well. The peppercorn ranch is a favorite. So if you're a NE Ohio native like me or staying across the street at one of the hotels, I recommend Dewey's for a good pizza experience. read more

During our rehearsal break, we chose to go to Dewey's Pizza at Summit Mall in Fairlawn, OH. This may have not been the wisest choice. Since we had to be back at the theatre at a certain time, we decided to order ahead online. When we entered the restaurant, we asked if we could just sit and eat there since the food came out earlier than anticipated. There was only one other table of people in the whole restaurant; however we were treated as though we were an inconvenience. The manager of the restaurant continued to stare and roll her eyes at us while we were eating and said as we left "we prefer if you chose carry out - you carry out" while I understand her argument 1) we asked 2) the restaurant was just about EMPTY; if they were completely packed I would understand. Overall the classic crispy crust-- was not crispy in addition no cheese pull AND my strawberry salad had three strawberries in it and cold chickenI've had Dewey's before and their food is good but today the mood of the manager and the vibe me and my friends received was so unwelcoming and upsetting. I will not be going back to this specific Dewey's, sadly-- but maybe I'll give another location a try!! read more

I love Dewey's Pizza! I never knew it was a chain until recently. Ohio really, really lacks in the pizza department and you either get plain-jane overly greasy and bland pizza, or you get pizza like Dewey's which is innovative and creative out of the box. My favorite pizza is the Green Lantern. It's loaded with artichoke hearts, roasted garlic, mushrooms, delicious cheeses, and pesto. One bite sends you into a heaven playing symphonies with your taste buds, and transports you into a tango of love and carbs that leave you happily comatose. The last time I went I ordered a pizza that was the special for the month or something. It had a red sauce base, prosciutto, a lemon dressed arugula salad, and shaved Parmesan. HOLY S#!+, so so so so good. You seriously cannot go wrong with any pizza choices here, and every pizza is loaded to the brim with fresh ingredients. Also, on Wednesday it's half price wine night. About $15 per bottle. Secret Cellar has a great Merlot that pairs fabulously with the Green Lantern pizza, and if you have room for dessert you HAVE to try the cannoli chocolate cake! At Porch Rokr, a festival in Akron, Deweys had a tent and was selling pizza by the slice. They handed out coupons for $10 off in the store. I liked the margehrita pizza that I got, so the very next day I used the coupon. I got a large "Edgar Allen Poe" to go. It was only about $12 with the coupon. It fed my husband and I for the next couple of days. It was best pizza I've had that I can recall. I only take one star off because I doubt I would pay full price for their pizza. The Edgar Allen Poe has olive oil, mozzarella, fontina, mushrooms, roasted garlic, Kalamata olives, goat cheese, tomatoes, and parsley. It's a mouth watering combination. If you get a coupon it is totally worth a try, and I would love to try the rest of their menu as well. read more

Stopped in for dinner here tonight because my boyfriend wanted me to try it. Atmosphere of the restaurant and design of its interior were different in a good way and quite refreshing. We were quoted a 15 minute wait time, but only had to wait maybe 10 minutes. They also take your phone number so had there been a longer wait time we could have easily browsed the shops in the mall to pass the time. We were seated in a nice corner booth. The hostess didn't say anything and walked away too quickly for me to even thank her for taking us to our seats. I ordered the candied Walnut and Grape side salad which was delicious! Sometimes when they put fruit in salads it becomes mushy, soft and unpleasant. However the grapes were nice and crisp and the walnuts were a great touch. They also make all of their dressings and the citrus basil vinaigrette on mine was so good I wish they sold it by the bottle. As for the pizza, which was made-to-order, we ordered the 11-inch Green Lantern. I liked how they were careful not to over-cook it. The crust was especially delicious. They also offer gluten-free crust, but I REALLY wish they had a vegan cheese substitute. Waitress was great and service was quick. Would recommend for date night or family dinner. read more

They have great specialty pizzas and even better salads. They can accommodate big groups and is better than eating inside the mall.
