I don't typically do reviews on line. Choosing a private detective is a difficult thing to do. When our daughter went missing we were desperate to do anything but wait. The police were doing everything they could but it just wasnt fast enough. I did plenty of research on how to hire the right detective. There was plenty to watch out for. Lets face it, when hiring anyone, you just don't know until it's too late in some cases. Our Daghter was missing for 4 days when we decided to call Jason Dewitt. He knows the Bay area very well and his references and background checked out! There are a ton of wannabe detectives in the world, with no real experience. We learned that the most important aspect to any detective you higher is, their ability to work with your local law enforcement. Jason is one of the very few who are respected by police and actually helped Jason help us. The police department and the Local detectives assigned to our case all respected Jason and assured me we hired a legitimate detective. Hiring Jason was the best thing we did to find our Daughter. She was missing for a total of 7 days when Jason found her. Jason did everything he said he would and more! He kept in touch several times a day and responded to our calls and text immediately. A child missing is a horrifying experience for any parent. Jason kept us encouraged and informed. He was able to provide us with information the police couldn't. He found our daughter safe and unharmed. We were told by the police that many times if a missing girl isn't found the first week, it is never a happy ending. Jason was easily worth twice the fees he charged to bring our daughter home safely. If you ever need a detective for any reason. Jason Dewitt is the real deal! Imagine the most frightening thing possible-your 15 year old daughter runs away and you cannot find her. The police cannot find her. In desperation, I turned to a google search and found Jason DeWitt and his private investigation agency. It was the best thing that could have happened. Jason was both compassionate and understanding on the phone and when we met in person at my home. I was not sure why, but I completely trusted him, as did my husband and the rest of my family. He seemed to know all the right questions to ask, and quickly set up a game plan that was based on experience and logic. He was able to make things happen that the police could not. Amazing Detective! I called on Jason DeWitt after my wife and I had lost contact with our 21 year old son for three months after he moved from NJ to the SF Bay area. We didn't know if he was dead or alive, and we were imagining the worst things. After calling and leaving a message, Jason called me within the hour. We gave Jason a picture, recent phone log, and basic identifying information on a Sunday. By Tuesday, Jason was sitting across from Ben in an internet cafe in South Lake Tahoe, about 200 miles away from San Francisco! Jason sent us pictures to show that our son was alive and well. And very few of the professionals from various fields I have worked with over time have made their mark on me to the point where I really believe the world is a better place for having them in it. Jason DeWitt is one of those professionals, however, so I wanted to write this review for the majority of people out there who DO read published reviews. A member of my family had dropped off the radar and we were all extremely worried for her. A colleague of mine suggested I contact a P.I., and went on to suggest I call Jason and cross my fingers other clients didn't book him first, and if they did he would be worth the wait. Jason helped me find a missing family member with mental illness. She'd been missing for almost two months and we feared the worst. We'd done all we could, had exhausted all avenues and felt so helpless. The police wouldn't help us because she was an adult and apparently entitled to disappear despite our concern that she was at serious risk.
