Best place ever-except for the lab staff. I have been a…read morepatient of The Portland Clinic for well over 18 years. Love the doctors and the convenience of the locations. But this morning-I go to the lab in Tigard for some blood work for a doctor appt at the Beaverton location later in the week. I go at lunch and get checked right in. Then a few min later, I am called up and told the lab tech is taking a break after the next person so I have to come back in 40 min or come back another time. UH, should they not take care of the patients that are waiting, THEN take a break. I left thinking I would come back after work or just go to the Beaverton lab after my appointment. After doing some grocery shopping nearby. I decide to go back and see if I would be the first person the tech sees at 12:45. If not, then I would go back to work. I go in and am told I would be the first person she would see when she returns from break. So I sit and sit and sit. 15 min go by and no sign of this tech. The receptionist tells me she is checking out my chart and will be calling me in momentarily. Then I sit and watch as FIVE other people are called in--all ahead of me. The receptionist tells me I am the next one. yeah right. The tech comes out and calls yet another person that is not me. I was fed up and start leaving as the tech looks at me and asks my name and says I am the next one in line-which I am thinking is not true. There were still 4 more people sitting around and they probably were not for urgent care. By now it was the principal of the thing--they lied to me and wasted so much of my time. They wasted my entire lunch hour plus another 20 min. Be honest and just say--there are a good 10 people ahead of you when they return from break. I will never go to the Tigard lab ever again. I will only go to the Beaverton one.

Miscommunication runs rampant (patients are asked to sign up for EPIC mychart and are not responded to for messages) unprofessional staff, the provider I scheduled with, Jennifer Moshman is not skilled. Initial establishment appointment she does not give a patient feedback, did not listen to my needs, sent lab request to the wrong location twice (they do not have the ability to upload labs to labcorp or epic for some odd reason) offered a test which I did not and would not be able to complete and then took weeks to correct it, lack of communication on 6/9/26 led to an unintentional missed wellness appointment they are now billing as a missed appointment (they will never see a payment for this from me, ever) as I called and told them unforseen circumstances led to be being late in traffic to which they informed me over the phone I would still be seen, having arrived at the exact time I told them I would led to the receptionist not checking me in because she had to "check" with the back office staff, wasted 4 more minutes attempting to communicate with said back office staff only to get up from her desk and then return to tell me I would not be seen, 7/17/26 I just received an EPIC message that it would be billed as a missed appointment (funny how they are skilled in using EPIC for billing and not messaging)

I appreciate that when you bring a problem up, they are very reactive and supportive of testing. That's been nice, they don't ignore your complaint. What I don't appreciate is being told incorrect information, and getting no response from them when I reach out. I.e. I was told to go to a walk-in clinic for a specific test, it needed to be done quickly. I drove to the clinic they suggested, that test is not available there. I then try to call the office and reach out via their portal, and do not get a single response. I get frustrated and just decide to deal with the pain. Ultimately I ended up going elsewhere to take care of my issue. Ultimately, I understand they're busy, most places are, I can look past this. Then the very last time I went, was for a routine visit, in which case, after being checked in and brought to a back room, the person taking my vitals started questioning whether or not my insurance was going to cover my annual visit. I said I believe it would, it usually does (It would have been, I checked with my insurance after this) -- however, instead, they suggested canceling this appointment and making a later appointment in the year because the insurance coverage was unknown. I was now questioning things myself, so I agreed. Before I left, they sent in a very nice woman to have a brief conversation about how my life is doing currently, and that was that. I now see my insurance is being billed over $300 for that. I also owe a balance. Insurance Code 99213. To tell some random person I didn't know that it's hard raising young kids under the age of two. And the weather is nice. Less than 5 minutes. I really want everything to work out at this place, but I am really starting to question things.

Every single experience and interaction is incredibly frustrating. The front desk people are rude,…read moreyou make appointments then sit in the lobby for 20+ minutes past your appointment even when it's first thing in the morning, you never get calls back, etc. The worst is they make you schedule appointments for every little thing just so they can charge you more money. Have a question about your prescription? Set up an appointment $$. The doctor sent the wrong order to the pharmacy? Set up an appointment $$. Your prescription is on back order for two months and you need help getting your medication? Set up an appointment $$. Not to mention the communication is terrible and one person tells you to call back on a certain day just to find out they never scheduled you and that the doctor isn't in. 100% horrible experience all around, zero positive interactions or experiences. Do yourself a favor and find a different provider/location.

He speaks like a parent to me, not a doctor who knows a whole lot more than me. Anytime I have brought him a concern, he never says or implies "that's a stupid question" or demeans me for asking it. He takes the time to really engage and explain everything. To me, that means the world because he cares for the two most important people in my world. I have met several of the nurses and they are always a pleasure to work with. I was actually really warmed by speaking to the triage nurse over the phone because she was SO kind, reassuring and answered EVERY question I had when I called in. When you're worried about your kiddo, THAT is exactly the kind of reassurance you need. I also really liked the emergency docs we have seen the two times we came in on emergent visits and didn't get to see Dr. J. I don't recall the names of the doctors we saw, but they were both female and both excellent. I appreciate that the medical staff is top notch. The staff in administration, is another story. I have never dealt with being billed for my "patient responsibility" and not having the front ask if I want to pay my balance when I check out; but getting a "collection letter." I got a statement requesting payment and 2 days later got a past due letter. I was less than pleased about that. They also seem to be a bit clueless on how to speak to people on the phone when they call in to schedule. If they could get the administration and billing staff to get it together and for the love of all things good, be professional to parents calling in, I could give them 5 stars. But the admin right now is just not the same level of excellence that the medical staff is.

Chronic Pain, Mental Health, and/or Transgender? AVOID THIS…read moreCLINIC! They will do everything in their power to avoid doing anything for you while still collecting money from insurance for appointments. Have complex mental health issues? Hope you only need talk therapy. Their in-house psych refuses to touch complex psychiatric conditions that require 'restricted' medications. The PCPs I and my partner have dealt with refuse to touch psych meds. They don't care about suicide risk or self-harm, they will do everything in their power to avoid touching your care and they will not help with medications, referrals, or safe hand-offs. My partner's PCP actively argued with him and tried ending a video appointment early when he said he was actively suicidal and was having a panic attack. QA and "patient advocates" were notified - nothing. Chronic pain? After several escalations, we had a nice chat with the head clinician where we were told to our faces that we're "addicted to not being in pain", after the PCP refused referrals to rheumotology, neurology, and other related diagnostics for non-medical reasons like they're "overbooked", "radiation", "they'll try the same meds we are". A request for a pain management referral was redirected to a rehab clinic. Ongoing extreme pain associated with on-file and documented conditions yielded a naloxone prescription for 'pain relief'. Apparently we're drug-seeking tweakers, so we don't deserve to have second opinions or individualized assessments/care. Need testosterone but the Trans Care Specialist is already abandoning and abusing your partner for the same issues? Not our problem. Either keep using the abusive trans care specialist we have or we'll force you to go to OHSU for any trans care at all, period, even when we prescribe hormones to cis people without requiring off-site specialists and hoops. Because "I'm not familiar or comfortable" with doing my job because trans people are complicated and difficult to deal with.
