I have done more research and left a review. After the compustar t13 remote start and alarm installation that Wicked Sounds, aka dfm, did for me, I returned because the auto arming and proximity release of the alarm failed. First, the business is an authorized Compustar dealer, but not a pro dealer. Thus, apparently they are not authorized to purchase or install the T13. I am told the errors I have are likely due to error on installation. Compustar has a lifetime warranty, but since they are not PRO installers of the T13 PRO, I have to find a PRO to fix. In the meantime, the business says it works when your here the day it is installed thus not their problem. Conclusion, go to Sacramento for the install at a PRO, because using them leaves vulnerable to the scam that you have no warranty because of their ignorance in proper installation of the PRO product. All this information is kept secret from the customer. I am still trying to fix the defective install and Danny said he washed his hands of me and the install. Keep in mind I suffered intense gaslighting where they record you in front of the cash register and the staff stands outside of the view and acts abusingly and falsely blames you for the breaking the product when you use the product as it is to be used This is a disturbing experience. I had made an Appointment with Dannie to have a new stereo and speakers put in on Saturday. Came in for the appointment, Dannie was not there and was disappointed to hear that there was no stereo. I asked for something similar but nothing available. I took time from work to have this done for my wife and surprise her, so this was not what I expected from a local business I am trying to support. I have had great experience with DFM from previous work, so this is really, really not what I expected. So upset. read more

Recently met with Danny to discuss speakers for my ski boat. Danny was very helpful in advising on the type, style and needs for our family. The speaker install was everything we expected. I recently had DFM install a remote start in my truck. Here was my experience. INITiAL CONTACT I called around to several different shops for pricing and appointment availability. The gentleman I spoke with on the phone was polite and knowledgeable, and was on hold for less than 20 seconds while he spoke with his installer about an appointment. I had received the remote start as a gift and the installer asked me to bring the box by so he could see if I would need other parts for installation. I did need another part; see below. PRICING The installation cost was nearly identical to other shops in the area. As mentioned above, I did not purchase the remote start kit at the shop, however I did need a bypass for my stock alarm/door locks. Shame on me for not purchasing this elsewhere; it cost me $169 in store but I found them elsewhere for ~$70 (identical product). I'm all about supporting our local businesses but that kind of markup is ridiculous! UPSELLING or other "scams" None! APPOINTMENT When I was ready to make the appointment I stopped by with the box so the installer could see what I had. He was very knowledgeable with the installation process and told me I needed another part to integrate with my factory system. Not only did they had the part in stock, but they got me in the same day for installation. They estimated the service to take ~4 hours. SERVICE PERFORMED I dropped the truck off at 12:30 and got a phone call just after 3, much earlier than expected. The installer took the time to show me how the system worked and discussed other integration options that are possible. Installation was clean with no visible wires, and the remote start works flawlessly. Several bits of wire insulation were left on the floors but I needed to vacuum my floor mats anyways. OVERALL EXPERIENCE I would recommend getting work done here if you are an informed shopper. If I need future installations, I'll be coming back. read more

Got put a new engine put in my car, and along the way whatever they could find that was not perfect they replaced so my car would be perfect, great customer service and they care about the customer. I had taken off work and driven from Middletown. When I said I was disappointed that no one called and let me know--the owner did not even apologize. I'm writing my first Yelp review ever, for Dfm Car Stereo -- 5 stars! Suddenly the radio in the new-to-me car I bought became silent. Nothing I did would persuade it to emit music or talk. I called Dfm and the nice gentleman said, "Bring it in tomorrow, and I'll fix it for free." The next day was a Saturday and the store was very busy. But he FIXED IT FOR FREE, immediately! I'm pretty darn impressed, and when I need a serious car radio repair, I will definitely give the job to Dfm! read more
