My kids would give it 5 stars, but as a mom 3 for price alone Lol. We took them to the North Pole Express which sells out in July... yes July. For the price of tickets it's kind of a joke. Adults are $40, kids are $40 ($35 for traveling passengers and they get the same stuff). I really wish they had a more reasonable ticket price. If you want your full family together and only have 3 of you, you are required to buy the whole section, or hope no one is sitting there. They ask you to get there 1-1.5 hours early so you can walk around and be on time. We were told we could get on the train 30 mins prior but they didn't load us until about 5 mins prior and our take off was take. It goes for about 40 mins total. During that time they pass out cookies and a bell. You also sing carols. Once you get off they give you a coupon for a photo of Santa... but Santa photos don't happen until you sit through a 20 min musical production. After that they hand out the souvenir cups with chocolate milk (it was pretty good! Tasted like a frosty). Overall good experience for my 3 year old. My 1.5 year old was over it after 20 mins, but it was a fun memory to make!

Train arriving at the Fort Worth stockyard.

Nice little train ride from Grapevine to the stockyards of Fort Worth which is a nice alternative from the get there mode of transportation. But remember, this is a slow and lazy trip that's cute and fun for younger passengers or this not in any kind of rush. A bit too corney for most people, the downsides of this train are the cramped seating, noisy A/C, cheap snacks from the local warehouse store, and no alcohol beverages. Please manage your expectations. Upside is it's a friendly venture to and fro as long as you remember you'll have to let faster trains on by. If you have the time and want a slow and enjoyable time, this is your best bet.

Cute train. Fun experience. Snack service was painfully, irritatingly slow. Might try a wine train but otherwise, once was enough. Edit: snack service on the return trip was like lightning. Apparently, it was just that guy. Work smarter not harder, my friend.

    Fun on the RR!

This has potential to be a kid-friendly historic adventure. These old rail-cars are beautiful, and what child doesn't love trains?! However; all of the other local trains use the same track - so it is subject to huge delays - certain to provoke tantrums from young and old alike. From the new Trinity Metro Texrail (to DFW airport), to the regular freight and Amtrak trains - our adventure turned into a disaster. Our leisurely trip was supposed to be about 80 minutes each way, but the first leg alone stretched out to 3 hours. Worse still; the delays meant there was no time to eat or sightsee in the crowded Fort Worth Stockyard. Since you can't take food from home, this limited sojourners to living on train popcorn. They expected us to go 7.5 hours without real food? Almost the entire train bailed in the stockyards, to eat and Uber home. Never again.

It looks like the trip to the stockyards gets a lot of hate, but people need realistic expectations. This is a vintage train that shares the rails with other trains including faster commuter trains. They tell you the schedule upfront (before you book your tickets) telling you how long the train ride is both ways. So if you have a problem with how long it takes, don't take it! We rode the Cotton Belt route from Grapevine to the Fort Worth Stockyards and back. It's a lot of fun, and the train is in really good condition. It's a unique way to take in the history of both Grapevine and Fort Worth. I wish they gave you a little more time in the Stockyards because an hour and half is a little short, but it's still a lot of fun!

The package we received $10 in video games (no prize games) and unlimited attractions: golf, rides, laser tag, go carts There were 2 attendants that appeared to be working. One stayed at the cars -it was the most popular-possibly because there was an attendant there so it looked operational. All other attractions we had to go find an attendant and that was quite difficult. Plenty of employees walking around but none working attractions. We finally found one person and she seemed responsible for all of them. So only one ride at a time could be operated. That is ridiculous since we paid for unlimited and only one closed at a time. Pizza was supposed to be ready at 11:45 -we had 1 sorcerer for more than 30 people! Too much for one person. Pizzas were not delivered until 12:10 and only 2 at a time and were served 2 slices at a time by waitress. We then had to wait to get 2 more pizzas. So we spent A LOT of time waiting for rides and food and very little time participating in the activities. Pizza was terrible -think kid pizza. Not one participant asked for seconds. Worse than Main Event pizza It could be improved with staff! And better food

And for the love of God, make sure you purchase pre-paid parking online or you're looking at a $5-$20 up-charge for parking. Mornings and nights are the cheapest but I recommend going in the earlier mornings (9am-10am) time slots so it's not as crowded and you can spend more time taking photos. Tickets per person are a tad cheaper ($46 vs $52). Personally I think the ICE! shows aren't as good as they used to be. The displays are shorter, the jackets are worn out, and you no longer get mittens. AND i got a rash after wearing the jackets. A photo package costs $60 and each additional photo with the Gaylord Frame costs $15. Enjoy the holiday madness!

I purchased tickets on sale and it was about $60 for both of us. It mentioned parking was not included but never in my life did I expect it to be $40 plus tax to park and I feel that should have been more transparent. Additionally, the signage at the Gaylord grounds is terrible and unclear, especially at night. We drove around in circles to eventually find the parking lot where there was no indication of handicap parking location anywhere either. All the entrances are automated boxes so you can't find anyone to ask. We had a slot at 7:15 and the line was forever.. we were in line longer than we were in the event. I'm not a fan of cold but I came prepared with a down jacket, sweater, gloves, Ugg boots, and hat and I only started feeling cold on my hands towards the end where the slides are. The jackets they provide do NOT have pockets so keep that in mind as you are required to wear it. We finally got out and I was excited to check out the little market stores (Kendra Scott!) but they had all just closed at ~8:30. Very disappointing.

So with that said I'd like to level set what you should expect. The park is clean, reasonably priced, and has about 4 rides you'll write home about. The park is mainly limited by space since it's in the greater Dallas area. It was fun and you'll make memories. But it's best to take this park for what it is and not compare it to other parks. It's great for 4-7 hours.

This park relies on technology to work which blows my mind when it comes to customer service. Well 3hrs into the park, rides were closed or not working. Finally got to a ride that was and sure enough the digital pass doesn't want to work since apparently it has to be scanned at every ride. God forbid someone take the fast lane that shouldn't be there. Although my tickets said fast pass, the date and order number, we were told we need to exit the ride and go to customer service. Customer service if you can even call it that is also useless. I was told by 2 different workers that they "unfortunately don't do refunds" oh you bet your ass you're going to give me a refund. I did not pay $350 for nothing. I continued to ask for rank up until I was talking with the regional manager that finally said she'd get me a refund. But not for parking. I asked for a card to contact corporate. Who never responded until I made a Google review. Finally they tell me no refund for parking. Although they were at fault. Nothing to sweeten the deal. I don't care about the money as much as principle. I worked in customer service for 10 years hell even as a construction project manager I'm still in customer service. This right here is not service. This park absolutely sucks. Don't waste your money or time, they don't respect yours. So disappointing. I was really looking forward to this too. Typical business profit over people. I won't be sad to see them go out of business, I'll build a data center right where they are at.
