I have been a Discount Tire customer for many years, several vehicles and, multiple sets of tires. I highly recommend them because they carry a number of different quality tire brands, their tires are competitively priced and their service is usually very timely and efficient. However, the last time I visited the Forest Lane Discount Tire which was for a simple tire rotation, I had a 9:00 am appointment, was at their shop at 8:55 but it took until 9:15 am to be able to check in and they didn't bring my car into the bay until 9:45. Perhaps they were short-handed that particular day but I didn't leave their shop until nearly 11:30 for service that shouldn't have taken more than half an hour. I'm still a loyal Discount Tire customer but I hope my next appointment is a little more efficient. read more

*Best place for full service repair** I have been coming here since 2014. John, Diyar, Juma, Roberto, (formerly there for years) have always taken care of my cars and then my son's car. I have always used synthetic oil on my cars, changed in time (5K vs 3k Miles, you get longer time between) from the day they were new, till they get older Synthetic high mileage. My choice and a good one. I have had 5 cars lasted 300K miles and still running when sold. They have best price (It's worth a little extra $ to keep engine great more years). I do inspections here, tires, tire repairs, they plugged my tire within 10 minutes and I haven't had a problem since and that was 6 months ago and I think it was 7 to 10 dollars, any maintenance that comes up, all the way up to when my old 2007 Dodge caliber RT I bought new needed an RT transmission in 2019 (11 years later a lot of driving) and they got me the best price and did an excellent job, car, engine, transmission still running great at 297,000 mi when it was time to get another one 2021. Several times I thought I had a more serious problem, as I have a 2003 Lincoln LS that I got that had very low miles in 2016, I brought in knowing sone about cars, and I was told it wasn't what I thought and my repair cost much less than what I expected, so they do not tell you you need something you do not. They will always meet or beat any price in DFW, but, if you are looking for cheap, for them to do a Band-Aid job quick fix that is only going to cause issues later, this isn't the place to go. Like an alignment, and you have ball joints that are hanging and almost broke, they will show you, and of course you have to repair that, because that happened to me one time on my Dodge and you cannot have a car like that legally on the road... they certainly didn't break them, the car had been driving rough. You cannot align a car that has ruined ball joints or broken struts. Makes sense, right? I hit a huge metal object in the road, which ruined the engine on the Lincoln, sadly, as it sits down very low, the car towed there that night and talked to them read more

The customer asked for a lesser expensive, but still not cheap oil. They put the most expensive oil in his car anyway and made him pay for the most expensive Mobil1 synthetic oil, even though he didn't ask for it. Never coming here again! I really wanted to like this place as I gave them two automobiles to repair. One was an insurance claim. As we were going thru the Artic freeze my insurance company was slow to get to the site to inspect the damage. I was told they would charge me for the car being in their parking lot since he was delayed. Really??? My second automobile I gave them a list of what I wanted done that Firestone and my Jag repairmen suggested needed done. They replaced the tires at no special discount and returned the car to me saying they didn't see the other items needed done. Two days ago I wrote a good review of this establishment, only to have to come back two days later and let you all know how John, the president screwed me over. I came to him Monday afternoon to get my brakes analyzed as I did not know if they needed both pads and rotors or just pads,. I told him I wanted to bring it in on Wed. when my social security check would be deposited by then. He later suggested I do it right then and there so I wouldn't have to come back, but again I explained I would not have the money deposited into my account until Wed. So he suggested I write him a post dated check and then jokingly asked me if the check would be good, and I laughed. I have been to this store before and have always like the service. I then stayed and let him do the brakes and an oil change and gave him the check dated 12/13/2018. Next thing I know, he deposited the check on Tuesday and although it paid, it caused me an overdraft not only one but two because a smaller check hit at the same time, and my bank (Chase), posted the larger check, causing one overdraft and left no money for the 2nd check. I would not recommend this establishment to be used for any auto repair service. I took my car in for an 4 wheel alignment as my car was slightly pulling to the right while driving. Upon driving up my tire pressures were equalized between right and left with new tires on the front of the car. My car was on the lift all of 15 minutes and then they told me my car was finished and good as new. I paid my 50 dollar fee and drove away. As soon as getting on a straight road the alignment was worse not better with a much more pronounced pull to the right than before bringing it in. I also noticed that the tire pressure in the right front tire was 2psi lower than when I brought it in. They obviously do not know what they are doing and are not reputable. read more

This place is amazing! Now that I have said that - I am so sad to see bad reviews, or that say this place is "ghetto" - it is the cleanest mechanic/shop I have ever been to! The guys who work here are all super friendly and helpful - I know little to nothing about what happens under the hood of my car and they listen to me try to explain what's happening to my old jeep and help me better understand what is going on and how to fix it. They are always willing to take a look and give me price estimates and work with my weird timing and small bank account. Not once have they ever tried to oversell or up-sell me on anything - there was construction in my neighborhood and I was constantly getting nails in my tires - they took great care to patch them and not once did I ever have a leak! I blew a tire once and came to buy a new spare for my car - I ended up in OK for several days after they got me a replacement tire and they held my tire, wheel, hubcap, and even tire cover for days with out issue or complaints until I was able to come pick it all up! I'm here now after my car stalling yesterday and noticing a spinny thing stalling and not spinning - they took my car right in and got it fixed quickly and within the budget I have! I went in and had a lot of work done on my front end. The car worked a little better, but went to another mechnic when the car made a lot of noise going over a bump. I went back and they would not give a written estimate until I told them I realy wanted it. I spent $1600 at this place and spent $1600 again at the second mechanic. Part of the problem my spare tire was loose. I can't prove it, but I think they put something oily in my brake fluid that costed $1500. They got mad because when I came back to so I guess they might have done it. I really had a poor experience. read more

This place is terrible. I went here because I ran over a nail and needed to get my tire patched. He said no tire patching is 15 dollars you need a plug that is only 7 dollars. I told the guy 3 times I wanted the tire patched. When they got done it was the worst plug I have ever seen. There was two inches of plugging material sticking out of my tire. Very poor experience. If I could give this place no stars, I would. Unprofessional. Incompetent. Scammers. My boyfriend and I went in for his '06 Jeep Liberty because it was making a squeaking sound on the front passenger side. We didn't know whether it was wheel bearings, brake shield, U joints, or some other kind of issue, so we asked them to take a look. At first we go in, and we have to wait 10 minutes before anyone even comes to the front desk to ask you what you need or you have to go out to the garage and wave someone down. We finally got a hold of the manager Mostafa. We tell him what the issue was and what we thought was wrong with the car and he said he would take a look and let us know. They "test drive" the car for about 45 min. While we sat in the seating area waiting, waiting, and waiting some more. Until we go to the back to find out what's wrong and where the car is, turns out they just parked it in the back and it's been sitting there ever since. First they tell us, "oh it's probably the wheel bearings." Then they said they wanted to test drive it again just to be sure because the mechanic and the manager said they were 95% confident that the wheel bearings was the problem. We had errands to do, so we told them that we could come back in an hour and that the manager would call us when it was ready. So we left. About an hour or so later, the manager Mostafa calls us. He is still unsure of what the problem was, but they THINK it's now a more expensive problem, the front differential. We asked how this could be when he was so sure about the wheel bearings, and he fed us some fake story about how the mechanic took something out and it stopped making the noise. So we come back and conveniently Mostafa is nowhere to be found. We were close by and got there only 5 minutes after we had received the call. So all of a sudden this seemingly cheap issue has turned into a $2500 problem. Fuck that. And they were even trying to charge me a service fee. The first thing the mechanic asks when we walk in is how much did they tell you the service fee charge was. If you can't even tell me for sure what is going on, you still want me to pay you? When you give me conflicting issues and first tell me it's one thing and then another? The mechanic at the front who was telling us it was the front differential couldn't even look us in the eyes when he told us what the problem was. And after I asked him how much that would cost us, he said about $2000-$3000. I said I don't have that kind of money and that I would rather sell the car, he said not to worry about the service fee. We specifically told him to check the brake shields, but they said that wasn't the issue. I lost my whole day and wasted my time here with these unprofessional and incompetent people. I finally took it to another mechanic and all that was wrong was that the brake shield was loose. After 20 min, it was fixed and they didn't charge me anything. They said the car was running great and that there were no major issues. These people at DFW discount tires are scammers! Stay away from here!!!!! Beware. These people just want your hard earned money. Go somewhere else and pay extra if you want good service for your car. read more

Sadly I didn't read this first. It looks like they take advantage of their women customers. I took my car in to get new tires and an oil change because it was due to have both done. My car hasn't had any issues and this was routine maintenance. When changing my tires they came in and told me I needed to have new bearings and new shocks installed. I told them I couldn't afford both now and they told me the bearings really needed to be done so I caved and paid for that to be fixed. In all I spent a little over $300 which wasn't bad. I ran out of time and had to leave before they did the bearings but told them I would be back the next day. Everything was running smooth and the next day I went back and had the new bearings installed. Immediately after I left and had stepped on the brakes I heard a noise that wasn't there before. I took the car back the next day and they said my rotors are bad and need to be replaced. I asked them why wasn't it mentioned before I had work done and why wasn't it making a sound then but is now and they told me one thing doesn't have anything to do with the other. They said to fix the rotors will be another $300, I told them no way I could afford that and left but now my car is messed up and it wasn't before. read more

WORST SHOP I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!!!!! WORST SERVICE AND WORST SKILL!! i am giving them one star only because there is no option to give less. if it were possible id give this monkey cage a negative all around. I took my car here because it started over heating while i was driving to a family members house. i was able to get it to the destination and had a family friend who is a mechanic take a look at it before i took it anywhere. he quickly informed me that it looked like my water pump had gone out. i was a Saturday around 5 o'clock and most shops are closed or closing around that time. I called DFW and told them they were the closest to where i was and asked if they'd be able to repair my car and they guaranteed that they could assist me. after bringing my car in and telling them i needed a new water pump they looked at my car and told me we were wrong. they said i needed a new thermostat which i had already had replaced 4 months prior. they kept trying to talk me into doing things to my car that i knew did not need to be done and after refusing to let them do those services they called and said they were no longer willing to work on my car and i needed to have it towed to a shop where i live which was 40 miles away. They forced me to pay them 70 dollars for nothing and sent me on my way with my car no closer to fixed as before. i had it towed to the shop that normally does all my repairs they replaced my thermostat like DFW had suggested even though they knew it was not the problem. they then told me i was right all along and my water pump needed to be replaced. i ended up paying over 100 extra dollars because of DFW having me pay them for nothing and towing my car because they refused to replace my water pump. they are scam artists and i would not recommend them unless u enjoy wasting your time and money. I have 5 cars in my household and have taken 3 to be repaired here. At first I thought they were o.k. but I brought my Infiniti in to repair the bearings. They repaired it and I continued to have an issue with that axle. I took it back and they said the bearing was o.k. and I needed two control arms and a laundry list of repairs totaling $1,700 I refused. I took it to another repair shop they told me that the first repair was inadequate since the bearing is part of the control arm and the control arm should have been replaced in the first place, this caused additional problems. They fixed what needed to be repaired for $600.00 and my car is fine. These people will rip you off if you give them a chance. Beware!!!! read more
