Is there a way to give an establishment zero stars? It has actually taken me awhile to write this, as my experience at DH Estetica was somewhat traumatic and unbelievable. I lived in the city for 20 years and have been to many salons. Mostly I would go to Salon Marc Harris or Mario Russo, depending on availability. I decided to give this salon a try and ended up having to walk out after enduring some of the rudest treatment I have ever encountered ... anywhere, by anyone. A horrible, extenuating medical circumstance caused me to miss my appointment. I'm not going to get into what that circumstance was, but I did open up and tell the owner of the salon about it as I apologized profusely for missing my appointment. During the rescheduled appointment, the owner kept bringing up that I had missed my appointment the week prior, knowing full well the very personal medical reason why this had occurred. She did this while working on another customer sitting next to me, which was mortifying. Comments like "we have to make sure people respect our time" were made, which is totally inappropriate when someone has just endured a really trying medical situation. And then my stylist stated that despite being hospitalized and incapacitated, I should be paying a cancellation fee because "who knows if you're telling the truth." And despite knowing the very personal situation I had been in, the salon owner jumped on the shaming bandwagon and made yet another snarky comment. Again, this was a very personal, extenuating medical situation that I had confided in the owner of the shop about, putting me in a really vulnerable circumstance. Yet the stylist and the owner seemed to be goading me into divulging the details in front of their other client. It was so gross! Meanwhile -- and this was the most disturbing part actually -- the stylist combing out my hair started to do so in a rough manner bordering on violent, such that I repeatedly looked at the woman sitting in the chair next to me as if to say "is this really happening?" It was as if I was in the twilight zone. She was mid-style, and in no position to leave. But she kept flashing me looks like "omg I just found out my stylist is crazy. Run, save yourself!" After some heated words I got up from the chair to leave, and basically said that this is just not how we treat people in Boston, let alone how a customer should be treated. As a business owner myself, I would have gladly paid a cancellation fee if I had not been openly shamed and had a sad incident in my life questioned by a stylist and a hair salon owner in front of another client in what seemed like an attempt to humiliate me, and then physically taken out on me by a comb-wielding weirdo. I stated this to the owner (in a more emotional, not as eloquent way, but good enough given what had transpired). She coldly said to me "I will consider your feedback." Obviously I can't provide any insight into the quality of any service that would have come after this bizarre rudeness. I can only cast a lot of doubt on any reviews that would claim that these are nice or courteous people who care about clients. Because nobody with a bit of kindness in their heart would have been remotely capable of acting this way. read more

When I moved from Germany to Boston I was really scared to find a good hairdresser who would be careful with my hair, because I'm very picky with my hair :-) I have long light frizzy hair and a layered cut. (By the way, 8 years ago, I lost all my hairs after a chemotherapy, that is the reason because I'm so picky) Natalia was a recommendation from a neighbor in Back Bay. First I was really wary but I it was time for fresh color...so I had to try it. That was last summer. From the first moment, when I met Natalia I felt me in the "right hands". I explained her, what I want and gave her the number of the color which my hairdresser usually in Germany used. She used the same color and had cut just the points so my hair can grow long and she made me big curls how I like it and I used it from home. When I saw the result, I was so happy! I got what I wanted!!! Natalia is a calm and friendly person, she know absolutely what she is doing...my opinion is that she has a lot of experience with coloring, cutting and styling....she is just great! Since this time I am a regular and I am thankful, that I found her and I'm gladly to recommend her! By the way, this salon is clean and friendly, I always get a promptly appointment and when you come in, it feels like you would visit a friend. Daria is also very friendly and offer always you water or a tee. So you feel very welcome. By the way, Daria...one times I will try Botox. I found DH Estetica through yelp after I had an absolutely awful hair experience and needed color correction ASAP. The stylist who ruined my hair had 20 years of experience, came highly recommended and assured me that she could give me an ombre that looked natural but more noticable. What she did was essentially bleach half my head so that my medium brown hair was drastically contrasted against the other half, which was a yellow platinum blonde. There was no middle color and one blonde streak up my head from where the bleach leaked from the foil. I came in to DH Estetica and pulled my hair out of a ponytail for a consultation with the lovely Natasha, whose eyes bulged and head began to shake. She immediately began brainstorming ideas for how to fix the bleach disaster while still understanding what I wanted and how to get there given the problem. She got me in a week later and gave me a deal on color given that I had already spent so much for the disaster in the first place. The salon experience was great and Natasha, Daria and I were able to poke fun at the bad hair, knowing that it would be fixed. My hair will probably need a few more rounds of color before the rather obvious disparity between blonde and brown is neutralized, but Natasha worked magic on my head and I can at least wear it down again without wanting to cry every time I look in the mirror. I had an amazing experience! My mom came in to get lash extensions. She was so nervous because she had a horrible experience at another salon on Newbury street. Every question she had about lash extensions, she had answered. The professionals were so helpful and made the experience a great one. While I was there, I started to talk about my "not so great" experiences with stylists and how I want a hair cut but do not know what it is I want. The stylist took her time after my mom's appointment to look at my hair and give suggestions. Right away I could tell that real professionals work here. I got so excited about my new hair cut, I booked an appointment right away. I was not disappointed. The stylist took such good care of me! I am so excited to come back to get my color done. I recommend this place to all the Boston Men who want a timely, clean, pleasant and reasonably priced experience! I have been a very happy customer for a few months now. As a guy finding a good haircut place in the south end was not the easiest. Places are either too expensive and difficult to "deal with" (no appointments, etc) or cheap and not the best haircut. This place has everything good! The staff are great, the cut is amazing, and the price is very reasonable (and they always shampoo before your cut too...). You are in and out easy. They take you in between appointments if they can, or will schedule you at your convenience. Thumbs Up ! read more

Yesterday was my third visit to DH Estetica and I've had the greatest experiences each time. Darya is a very thoughtful and caring stylist, she discusses all the details in advance and checks whether you are liking it all the time. The eyelash extensions looked good on me for almost 4 weeks, which is a lot longer than I used to have in other salons. Yesterday I tried balayage and haircut for the first time with Darya and it looks wonderful! It took us a long time (because I have a lot of hair) but Darya was patient and did her job amazingly although it took us about 4 hours! Totally recommend this salon and I will definitely return for more services. read more

Both have good eye on what will or will not work for you. Natalia did an awesome job dying and styling my hair. She gave me great advice on how to properly dye and take good care of my hair. They use good quality beauty products. Dariya game me a good advice on the type of quality color sustaining shampoo and conditioner I can purchase to ensure my color stays on longer. A hidden gem in the South End of Boston! I have been here for haircuts and highlights with both Simone and Natalya and both never fail to do a fantastic job! Sometimes I came in with a picture for reference and Simone was very receptive and attentive to what I was looking for. Other times I didn't really know what I wanted and Natalya knew exactly what my hair needed to vamp up my blonde color and give me layered volume and bounce. I've been going to that place for over a year and absolutely love it. All girls are very kind, Dariya is the nicest person I ever met. She always offers the most convenient time for you. Wonderful experience at DH Estetica last June...only reason I haven't been back yet is that my hair cut I got with Natalya has grown out so well that it still looks good! She was able to add great shape to a so-so cut from another salon. I also got a Keratin treatment - and was very pleased with results (they even booked me for next day.) I will be returning soon - and telling my friends to do the same in the meantime. read more

Had my first Keratin treatment here (via groupon) and it was amazing -- everyone was very friendly and explained the treatment in detail. My stylist did a great job, my hair has stayed smooth and straight. However, if you purchase the groupon, keep in mind that the lighter keratin treatment (which I did and is definitely recommended for hair that is not exceptionally thick/curly) is an additional $40. read more

I am glad I chose Dh Estetica. It was my very first time getting hair extensions put in and I was very nervous. After a thorough consultation I ended up getting a combination of keratin fusion hair extensions and nano links hair extensions. I finally had my first visit at DH Estetica last Tuesday! My husband has been geting his haircut here since last December. Natalya is great both with mens and womens hair! I had my hair dyed dark purple red and i love it. Haircut is neat and awesome. They use great products and color lines, great grey coveratge and no skin staining like with some other cheaper brands. Darya is an incredible esthetician. She always makes me feel so comfortable before getting my Botox injections. I get the lowest amount possible in my forehead to prevent wrinkles, and she always does an excellent job. Additionally, the studio is clean, nicely decorated, and easy to find. I got eyelash extensions done by the salon owner, Dasha. She was absolutely amazing and super welcoming. On top of that, the lashes came out amazing! I've gotten so many compliments and I absolutely love them! I would and have already recommended this salon to my friends! They're great!!! Yesterday I went to this salon for the first time. I got a wonderful dermaplaning peel from Darya for only $70. I consider this price very reasonable for the area. I had my hair washed and styled for $30. All the people working there are very pleasant and they made me feel home. Now I'm waiting for my hair to get a bit longer so I could go back there for a cut. read more

Darya does an amazing job and knows exactly what you want. Both times I've gone, I explained slightly what I wanted and she knew the best way to incorporate the colors. This time I wanted a balayage w/ caramel, brown & tones of maroon/red. Clearly it came out flawless! She definitely knows what she's doing, I don't trust anyone else! Scheduling is extremely difficult! Charging me a late cancellation fee after my aunt went into the emergency room and I couldn't make my appointment.... Based on client services to date, would not recommend to a girlfriend. Can't speak to their actual services, because the scheduling process has been too cumbersome for me to even get in there. read more
