Just had a haircut with Scott today. A friend had recommended and I read the many 5 star reviews. Scott is now at 391 Cambridge St, Allston. Parking on the side street was not difficult. Scott did a fantastic job layering my flat Asian hair and is a master with his scissors, He does not change to thinning shears. He does everything with his one scissors. It reminds me of past haircuts in Asian countries. So I left with a nice natural look with some lift in my hair, that hopefully doesn't require too much maintenance in the mornings. I had gotten a balayage a year ago and it had grown out. Knowing absolutely nothing about hair, I found Scott on Yelp and booked an appointment for a haircut and a root touchup. However, I had no clue what the original color was and Scott told me he'd try his best to match the previous stylist. And after hours, multiple washes, a few rounds with toner, and adjustments, I am so so happy with the result. Scott is good at what he does and was incredibly patient. With 14 years of experience, the haircut was fast and the layers were cohesive. He was able to expertly blend the newly recolored hair in with the previous coloring and, when I requested that the roots be darkened a bit to look more natural, he was happy to take the extra step. He will give his own honest opinions about what he thinks will look best and I decided to just trust his judgement. I'm glad I did. Scott was also easy to talk to and the banter was fun. The price was incredibly fair for the amount of time and effort he put into this job and I was shocked by how low it was. Definitely seek out Scott for your haircuts and color jobs.
