What a wonderful treat !!! The keratin treatment of my very dry, very curly and unruly hair gave an absolutely magnificent results. My hair feels soft, manageable and have nice, live shine to it, plus I have more define curls. Darya is awesome and sooo good at what she does! She gave me the perfect blonde and rose gold balayage and was so patient with my hair. It took a couple of tries for my dark brown color to lift, but my hair is still so strong and healthy thanks to Darya. The salon is in a great location in the South End and they offer a variety of services. Like others, I too purchased the Groupon for a haircut, blowdry, and deep conditioning treatment. I had not been to this salon before, but I'm sure happy I bought the Groupon because I will definitely be returning. Natalia was nice and very professional - she listened to what I wanted to do with my hair and took her time cutting and styling, thus delivering a high quality end result. My hair has proven to not be the easiest to deal with (it's gotten messed up by stylists several times due to its wavy/curly nature), so I usually stray away from doing anything other than a blunt cut. However, I really wanted a change, and trusted Natalia with my hair and I absolutely love the way it looks now! The salon has a very homey atmosphere, and at the end of my visit, they didn't try to sell me a bunch of products I will never use, so that's a definite plus. This is a small but very cute salon with lots of on street parking. It's clean and the staff is very friendly. I had a great hair cut and blow dry and would recommend it ONLY for cuts and blowouts. Unfortunately, I had a very bad experience with color. I had a partial foil and one side (right side) was done very pretty and I was very happy with it. Unfortunately, the other side (left side) was in patches and very uneven. I called the salon about it and they were very gracious and polite. They offered to have me come in and fix it at no additional cost. Unfortunately, they weren't able to quite fix it. In fact, they made it worse at first and then finally colored over it with a toner so that my hair is now light brown rather than blonde highlights. My color is just OK now. I'm not really 100% happy with it and I can still see the blotchy uneven patches coming through. In summary, very friendly staff, great hair cut and great blowouts. Came here with a Groupon for a keratin treatment. Great service, but let's talk results. My hair is BEAUTIFUL, like mermaid-sunning-on-a-tropical-beach pretty. It's sleek and shiny and feels like silk. It's easy to style and blow dry, and I cannot stop touching my hair. And forcing other people to also touch my hair, so they too can experience my silky-smooth strands. I had an awful, no-good coloring/bleaching experience in late 2013, which my hair never fully recovered from - dry, straw-like, prone to frizz and breakage. Keratin treatments helped smooth things over a lot, but I definitely noticed varying levels of efficacy from different keratin treatments and stylists. DH Estetica takes the cake. Now, they did have me sign a waiver about acknowledging that the treatment has formaldehyde, and the room did fill up with smog as we starting blowdrying and flat-ironing the chemical. I did inhale the smog but I'm still alive and my hair is beautiful so I think it was worth it? The stylist put on a WWII-looking gas mask to protect herself (and she was pregnant too), so just be forewarned that this is some potent stuff. I'm really pleased with the results and I would plan to go back here for more keratin treatments. read more

I went to this salon expecting baliage. The stylist foiled my hair and made it much darker than I had explained to her. I was blonde and came out essentially with dark hair and a few blonde highlights. I called back immediately after I left to get it fixed and was told they couldn't see me until next week. DH Estetica was FANTASTIC, I had a more than exceptional experience from my stylist, darya. I received a balayage that matched my keratin bond hair extensions perfectly!, hair extensions of this kind, and quality are always expensive no matter where you get them, but this place was very reasonable with pricing. As for the customer service the hair dresser was polite, accommodating, and very easy to talk to making the long process go by a lot quicker. My balayage was perfectly colored(she even dyed the ends of the extensions herself to match my roots), I was even late due to an emergency appointment, and she waited for me still, for which I sincerely appreciated. Everything there was clean and well kept. I have no complaints from this place just and will be back there for all my upkeep! I went in a few months ago for my first EVER session for lip fillers, I was super nervous! I don't even let anyone do my eyebrows that is how much I worry about messing with my face! Unfortunately my hair was a bit too damaged to receive the Keratin treatment that day. I have over-processed blond hair and Natalya was concerned that my hair may not be strong enough to handle the high heat of the flat iron during the Keratin treatment. She gave me the B3 demi-permanent deep conditioning treatment to help repair my hair. My hair felt so healthy after the treatment and I was able to come back a few days later to get my Keratin. I think I made a mistake going in with a groupon and expecting the same treatment as those who pay the full price. I paid $129 for a keratin treatment (hot iron straightening included) - lasted till i washed my hair (which I did with the recommended sulfate free sodium free shampoo). I have long thick frizzy hair which I explained before but I believe the same amount of product was used in my hair as would have been for someone with half the length, volume and frizz. I could have gotten the same results with a regular ironing treatment for 1/3rd the cost or could've done it myself! I mean why even bother to put in that amount of keratin or whatever products in my hair if it was to do nothing? Moreover - I was told the minute I sat down not to expect noticeable results even before the treatment started. I mean, I understood that the result wasn't going to be sleek straight hair (like after a japanese straightening or ironing) but I was promised smooth and frizz free - at least for 2-3 months. I did not even get frizz free let alone smooth for a day after washing!! The two stars here are for Darya - for giving me the time and patience while booking my appointment. I was her last client of the night but I never felt like she was rushing me or giving me any less than her full attention. One note, be conservative when telling her how much length to take off. I have no complaints, she did exactly what I asked her to, but she did take off more than I was expecting so it was a little alarming at first. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is that I had to wait a while under the dryer after my shampoo while Simone finished up her previous client. I think that DH Estetica is the exception and I think that I'm going to stick with them for awhile. The place is cozy and comfortable, they only have three chairs so it's relaxing and quiet, both Dasha and Natalia are very friendly and attentive. I'm so glad and relieved to have finally found a hair salon I can stick with. I don't get my hair cut often, perhaps twice a year, and I've spent the past 2 years in Boston jumping around from salon to salon in search of a hair stylist who "gets it." I came here with a Groupon for balayage as my roots were growing out after a single-process color, and I wanted something low-maintenance instead of constantly touching up my roots. The stylist did a reverse balayage to extend the color of my natural hair into my colored hair, and I love how subtle of a transition it is. She took her time and was very meticulous with the coloring process down to the blowdry, which I really appreciated. Now I don't want to do anything to get my hair wet in order to maintain it! I purchased the Gilt City deal for this salon only after reading favorable reviews for the salon's stylist, Simone. Well, yesterday I met Simone in person and let me first say that the prior reviews must have been written by her immediate family members. Never in my life have I received such poor customer service and been treated with such disrespect as I was by SImone. My first interaction involved walking through the salon's front door where I was not greeted by any employee. However, a woman (Simone) who was sitting in the customer waiting area looked up from her cell phone and said "hi". Never did she say "can I help you" or are "are you here for an appointment" or "what is your name"? So, I introduced myself and explained that I was there for a 1:30 appt. Simone informed me that my appointment was in her book for 1:00 (it was only 7 minutes after 1pm when I arrived). I apologized thinking that maybe I wrote the time down incorrectly??? Again, even if I did mistake the time of the appointment, it was 1:07pm when I walked through the door. Nevertheless, Simone's attitude was already off the scale and she seemed bothered that I had shown up at all. Simone then walked me to her chair where I sat down and attempted to explain what type of style I was interested in. I have short hair (pixie style) and I had been trying to grow it out for a couple of months. Simone began to lecture me on what I needed to do if I wanted my hair to grow out. She actually told me that I need to make a commitment to a style and NOT cut it at all?? I began to wonder who was calling the shots here, me or Simone?? I then explained that since my hair hadn't been cut in 3 months, I felt that a trim and maintenance cut was necessary to keep it looking healthy. I then went on to asked Simone if she could recommend a cut that would get me through the awkward stage and the holidays. I said that I would be happy to "make a commitment" but it would have to be after the holidays. After explaining this, Simone seemed completely disinterested and actually said that I was her first appointment of the day and that she didn't need me causing confusion in her head??? I could hardly believe the way that she was speaking to me. Is it really that odd for a client to ask a stylist for suggestions?? After Simone's comment about her "head confusion" I realized that there was no way to salvage this appointment and thought it was in my best interest and end our very short relationship. I simply got up, grabbed my bag and left the salon. Simone followed me out the door sarcastically wishing me a good day and happy holidays??? At no point during my short lived appointment, did Simone seem interested in working with me as a client. In fact, I think she would have been quite happy if I never walked through the door. You'd think that the salon would want to retain new clientele, why else would they offer a deal through Gilt City? I spent only 10 minutes with Simone before getting up and walking out, but it was the worst 10 minutes I have ever spent in a "service" industry in my adult life. Luckily I walked over to another salon on Washington Street (Kent Newton Salon) where I was greeted with a smile, offered a beverage and treated with respect. Not to mention that I walked out of Kent Newton's Salon with an amazing haircut. The owner of DH Estética is likely aware that there is a salon on nearly every block in the South End and with that type of competition, you might want to consider hiring staff that are welcoming and respectful to all clients. read more

Have actually never written a review for anything before because I haven't ever been exposed to such a awful experience and poor customer service. The owner was unapologetically rude when I didn't "thoroughly read the fine print" in the groupon and told me I had the option to either reschedule causing my card to be charged for the services I was causing her to lose service on (the salon was painfully empty) or to get charged the additional money for the service in addition to the groupon I already purchased. Which I also can no longer use because it would be for a first time service only. Lose lose situation. But at least now I know how reputable this salon is. read more

I have gone here twice- the first on a groupon- and had amazing cuts both times from Simone. I was always a super long hair-ed girl, but decided to change it up one day and got my hair cut bob-length. Simone not only listed to what I wanted but had great suggestions. Plus, the salon just has a good vibe- the stylists seem to like each other and are joking around and making conversation while they cut your hair. Plus, the second time I went I arrived early and they gave me a deep conditioning treatment while I was waiting because one of the stylists was free!
