The team at DHL in Redondo Beach is incredibly professional, friendly, and helpful. Every time I call about my packages, they go above and beyond to ensure everything is delivered on time. All the employees I've spoken with--especially Joe--have been consistently kind and patient, even when I call frequently to check on my shipments. I recently had a package that was supposed to be delivered today, but due to an issue, I was told it would arrive on Monday instead. To my surprise, the supervisor personally came out and delivered it the same day! That's outstanding customer service. I had a great experience here on Oct. 3rd! From the moment I walked into this spectacularly clean location to the excellent service I received from Joe, I was very pleased that I made the extra effort to use DHL. The package I shipped to Texas arrived the next day. The most amazing part was that Joe chose the absolute perfect size box for the wide variety of odd-shaped items I was shipping. Celeste Bermudez of DHL Global Forwarding at 6800 Gateway Park Dr, San Diego, CA 92154 is the best. She tirelessly helped me and forwarded me all the needed documents to enable me to find a broker and secure customs release within the same day. You cannot find a more helpful person. The same thing cannot be said of the location though. They list a telephone number on the DHL Global Forwarding website, but every time I called, Verizon (my cellphone carrier) would inform it is a wrong number (or I get busy tone all the time) - I tried for a few days and called many times; no luck. Fortunately, the shipper in Europe provided Celeste's phone number and email address. That was when the process handling got accelerated and resolved in 2 days. But for her help, my shipment would still be sitting in the bonded warehouse for another week at least. Highest praise to Celeste. Thanks again! read more

WORST DELIVERY SERVICE EVER. DHL had my package from Dec. 28th, 2017 until Jan. 19th 2018. I tried tracking, which I paid for. The phone rep I spoke to said she couldn't tell me if the package was in their Compton, CA office or not. Contacted the sender, they could not help me either. Most unprofessional major company. I would give zero stars if I could for their lack of service.... I received a text message stating my package was going to be delivered on Wednesday March 5, 2014. I requested that the delivery address be changed to my work address as I was not going to be home to sign for the package. I called on Wednesday to find out where the package was and when it would be delivered they told me it was being forwarded to an outside company for delivery and it would be delivered on Thursday. The man I spoke to was rude and acted like I was interrupting his day at work. I called on Thursday to find out when and to what address the package would be delivered and they told me it was not going to be delivered until Friday due to severe weather in China (the package has been in LA since Tuesday!). I called this morning only to be told they do NOT know which company they have outsourced the package to and it is being delivered to the original address (which no one will be at) today (Friday March 7, 2014). I asked the rep if they could get me in touch with the delivery company to get them to leave the package without a signature or deliver it to my work address. I was told they would have someone call me back by 6pm. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced with a delivery company. In the future I will be sure to go with FedEx or UPS for all my delivery needs. I have never actually worked with DHL but I will be telling everyone I know never to use your services. read more

This is not a real "DHL Express",. my vender shipped 2 KG parcel from Bosnia due to COVID-19.She can' choose other carrier, so she used the DHL Global forwarding to ship the parcel. The vendor charged me 555 euro dollars for shipping. The whole process dealing with DHL Global forwarding was a nightmare. They sent me emails through 5 different persons from different departments then I replied them in the morning 10:30 am. The email responded spontaneously showed the CSR were day off at 2:30PM. They didn't assign another CSR to be in charge of reading my reply email. They tried to respond your email slowly on purpose to delay your parcel custom clearing process so that they can charge you extra storage fee. They also have lots of hiding fee in additional to real shipping fee, The real DHL Express didn't charge you hiding fee. When you received their invoice you will be in shock. And they asked you to wire transfer, and you can not use credit card. That costs another 30 dollars for the wire transfer. Be careful!!!! read more

HORRIBLE!! JUST SURPRISED THIS OFFICE IS IN BUSINESS!! We were trying to ship a specialized shipment with them and I called; left messages; and after repeated calls, finally talked to someone who had no customer service skills and NO CLUE!! Gave me another name, # to contact - tried that # - left message.........AND STILL ZERO HELP! I finally sent someone to retrieve our package and I finally got a phone call (24 hours after pkg was dropped off). They want $75.00 for a warehouse handling fee. THEY DID NOTHING TO DESERVE THAT FEE!! I am beyond disgusted and will make sure that we avoid the Redondo Beach, CA office never sees another package from our company............ ** Still leaving one star but Phil from Customer Service has called since posting my original message. Sometimes being heard helps. He was very professional and polite to hear my concerns. read more

I will never do business with this company again. They made a billing error to our company, billing us instead of the receiver. After receiving a past due notice, I tried everything at all levels of this company to get them to understand that they made a billing error. Over the course of almost a year, nothing was done. I tried repeatedly to get someone to understand with no results. They finally reffered the matter to a collection agency even though I had several people at DHL admit they had made an error in billing. Still not resolved. Own a business? Considering using DHL? RUN!!!! Take it from a business owner, DHL is absolutely horrible! I made the mistake of using them for LTL / Heavyweight freight. First off their rates were BS. The overly confident sales rep was nice enough to lie about the rates. Sure it worked for about a month and then they raised the price OVER 50% because they "screwed up" and weren't making enough money. After readjusting their prices the shipping costs were totally overpriced, one of the most expensive carriers. Not only does their pricing suck but their website is just as bad. You can't even view the PROOF OF DELIVERY on their website when you login. All the other carriers let you do basic tasks like that but not DHL. Good luck calling the phone number on their LTL website, they operators have no idea how to use their own website (assuming one actually picks up the phone). On top of all of this the Redondo / Los Angeles office is too lazy to even setup a voicemail system, so just think of your customers calling to schedule LTL delivery only to be greeted by endless rings. Down to the super friendly delivery man that has brought my heavy packages all the way to my door step. Timely delivery EVERY SINGLE time even on sunday mornings! The import services departments dedication to get in touch with me while trying everything they can to get my package cleared as quickly as possible. I shipped several packages via DHL last November to Italy. I have never worked with a more incompetitant group or unprofessional business. My 3-4 day shipment took just under a month. In tracking the shipment, I was repeatedly given incorrect information and even told flight numbers that the shipment was on. These flights did not have my packages and in some cases did not exist. After dozens of phone calls I found out that the packages were sitting on at the dock in NY and had not yet been scheduled by DHL to ship. I have names of close to a dozen people that I spoke with in trying to locate my packages. I have now been dealing with Dhl since April in regard to disputing the charges. In the end, DHL gave the issue to the first person that I called with the problem. Not likely to get much resolved that way. They decided I still owe them money despite there Increadibly bad job and the money that it cost me to make up for the mistake. Shame on them! I will never use DHL again! read more
