Silver Slipper was at the Small Town Chefs dinner in 2015. The food they brought was very good and a bit unique with the Cajun hibachi idea. So when we stumbled across it while out driving one afternoon, we had to try the place out. The patio was very nice and it was covered, but it was a bit hot so we opted to go inside. The place was very cute. Not very big, in fact I think the patio is bigger than the dining room. It was not too crowded being 1:00 am on Saturday. We where the fourth table seated for food. We were a bit sad when we saw the lunch menu. No Hibachi for lunch. There was a nice selection of sandwiches (club, blt, burger) and salads, but we were looking for that Asian Cajun fusion. We ended up with the Cajun eggrolls and Asian slaw with crab stuffed avocado. The Cajun eggrolls were good, not great. There was way too much corn (which look like it was canned and not fresh) than meat for my taste. The remoulade dipping sauce was really good. The Asian slaw was fresh an good, but it tasted like a regular vinegar based slaw. Not sure what made it Asian. The crab avocado was really good. The crab was fresh and dusted with just a hint of Cajun spice. That mixed with a bit of creamy avocado was out of this world good. The food as decent, but not the cajun hibachi advertised, so I give it three stars. We did get a peek at the dinner menu and brunch menus. Both had the hibachi option, so we are planning a trip back in a few weeks.

After judging this book by its cover and passing it up for 2-3 years, we decided to pop in. At a glance, one would NEVER imagine that this place would have such stellar food and service but it does! *the service is off the charts...friendly, loud, laughing, and jolly waitresses/waiters *boisterous, SQUEAKY CLEAN, and comfy dining area *great prices with FRESH and innovative food DO NOT MISS the Bloody Mary which comes with bacon and shrimp on a skewer (yes, bacon and shrimp)

"People get the fried pickles," - what our server said when I asked her what she liked on the menu. Asked if she liked any menu items & she shrugged. We were excited that both Bayou Teche & Canebreak were on the draft menu but on a Friday night at 7PM, beer was out and "only the manager knows how to change the keg and the manager isn't here right now." My friend drank the last bottled LA31, so we didn't get to drink any local brews. I ordered the Arnaudville roll, described as avocado with fried alligator and lump crabmeat on top. The roll had no avocado and shredded Krab-stick on top. We each had a bite and no one wanted to finish it. Lastly, the server came up to the table and said "Y'all want the check?" Then she brought us 2 checks even though we didn't ask for it to be split. Such a strange & comical experience. I'm giving it 2 stars because the space was nice & I got to catch up with an old friend. The fried catfish was good.

Great Cajun food, burgers & sushi. A causal Restuarant off the bayou Teche. I had the shrimp stir fry right off the hibachi. We sampled some of the fried catfish & alligator which both were excellent.

This place is awesommmeeeee!! A+ atmosphere and amazing food and drinks!! The servers were great people and the restaurant was in a beautiful location across the street from bayou Teche. Had live music with Jacye Guerin and Jacob Gunter! Awesome pair of musicians. Overall had an absolute blast.

We ordered fried oysters with fries, grilled catfish with salad with ranch dressing, and onion rings. It took 30 minutes to get any food. We got there around 12:20 so we were way after the lunch rush. I didn't get any salad dressing but Maddie came back and asked what kind I wanted. Within 10 minutes she brought us our check, let us know she was leaving and gave us the name of who would take care of us. No offer to get us anything else. Glad we weren't wanting any ice cream or a shake, because apparently we were not going to get offered that either. Maybe it was an off day. The food was good though, I think, because I was so hungry when it came that I pretty much inhaled it. You know how when you go to a fast food restaurant they have trash receptacles on the dining room floor? They have that here too. And unfortunately, we sat down next to one. We did get there very early talking before 10am they were so sweet and amazing still letting us order what was available and answering any and many questions we had regarding food options. Service was 5 out of 5 for our first moment in LA everyone was so kind and made our journey so worth it. We got the crawfish fettuccine with the Crawfish dressing and regular rice and an amazing biscuit. (Honestly I could order a dozen just for the road back) All the food was a 10 out of 5 and so sad I don't live closer as I know I will be dreaming of this food for the rest of my life! They have other food there like a grocery store and really thinking of going back just to buy some for the freezer for when I miss it most. And always like to take a moment to talk about the restrooms and when going to places like that I don't expect the nicest bathroom but they shocked the mess out of me. By far the best restrooms. If there is a way to give a place more then 5 I would give them 10 out of 5 over all!!! Will be coming back!

Food: 5/5 I looked over the menu and decided to try the Bayou Sampler. Comes with 2PC chicken (your choice dark or white meat or for extra cost can get mixed), red beans & rice, boudin link & biscuit. All had good flavor, except the biscuit, it was ok. Chicken wasn't greasy but moist with flavor. Red beans also very tasty and boudin link just as good. Service: 5/5 The counter server was friendly and so were the cooks, while it did take a while to get my food, it's cooked to order so that's understandable. Once I got my food, I wanted to take a photo and realized that my order was missing the chicken. Thankfully I had not left before checking it (rule of thumb for any to go order, check your food) The counter server was quick to speak to the kitchen and they brought out my full plate in short time.
