This is a large, inviting Lettuce Entertain You restaurant. The drinks are decent, and the food is very good. Prices are a bit high but appropriate for being part of a mall and northshore. Service was a bit strained on a Saturday night but that's to be expected. It's part of the Northbrook Mall, so we stopped in early on a Saturday, and had a dinner meal, with two drinks, and a shared chopped salad. The server was great about dividing our salad we shared at the table. We had the two specials: pot roast and a ragout pasta also suprisingly made with the pot roast beef. Ate there recently, food and service as good as always, but noticed that the COVID surcharge remains. COVID surcharges have disappeared everywhere else, why does this restaurant insist on continuing with them? Di Pescara, if you are going to respond to this post, prove that 100% of the surcharge funds are going directly to your employees. Provide transparency not only here but in your restaurant so that your customers know that our money is going to a good cause and we're not paying extra just because you're asking for more than the menu prices. read more

I've always passed by here but haven't had a chance to explore until recently. Went on a lunch date with my husband on a Sunday afternoon. It was not slammed at all but man, there were some super noisy people sitting two tables from us that I could barely hear myself think but luckily they left really quickly. At the time when we went, there was a mask requirement so you had to walk to your seat with the mask but once you were seated, you could take it off. We sat in the outside area and covid precautions were practiced- every other table was utilized and the tables were wiped down again prior to us sitting down. The bus boy came right away with menus and water, but the waiter took some time. This was okay for us since we needed some time to figure out what we wanted. We ordered the grilled calamari giardiniera as our appetizer and then I ordered spicy tuna roll for my main entree and my husband ordered the Chicken alla Parmigiana. The calamari came out quickly and it was very good. It was very flavorful and was just ti ght with a touch of arugula. The sushi was okay too but if you are a big sushi lover, the sushi menu here is rather limited. The sushi was okay but lacked excitement and flavor. My comment reflects my personal taste- that does not mean there's anything wrong with it, I just feel like it could have used more pizzazz. My husband chicken alla parmigiana was amazing- better than Maggiano's and I am sure a little more healthier too. Highly recommend it to everyone. Had dinner over the weekend. The waiter and service staff were excellent. Our table had calamari for appetizer, entrees were parmesan crusted shrimp, sea scallops, crab cakes, halibut, and a poke bowl. Overall, all the entrees were well-seasoned. Making a reservation to have our family Thanksgiving meal here turned out to be one of the best decisions ever. Our table was waiting for us. Our waiter, Fabian was tough, not in every way. And the food was spectacular from start to finish. We ordered a bottle of wine to begin with, and toasted to the holiday and gave. Thanks for all our blessings. And then the food started coming in , I am not usually a fan of Vm, their orchard salad Green Goddess dressing but I really enjoyed theirs on their family style orchard salad. This came along with some slightly warmed, brioche dinner rolls, and whipped butter. Next was there really beautifully silky and well seasoned butternut squash soup with a few floating roasted seeds to help add a little extra texture. and I can't forget to mention they're delicious stuffed mushrooms. Yum! Then, for the mains and sides, there were smooth and buttery, mashed potatoes, a delicious, baked, sweet potato, delicate and lightly breaded with a crunch, leg, superior whitefish, both dark and white meat, sliced and very moist turkey, caramelized, brussels sprouts, delicious cranberry sauce made with a hint of orange and Service was very well paced. They kept our eyes slaughtered, filled, and continue to check on us without being intrusive. To finish, there was coffee, apple, strudel, and pumpkin pie with whipped cream. What an excellent meal. I also loved the ambience switch had plenty of energy and buzz while still being subdued and calm. Somehow they managed to have light which put the white coming from the ceiling down to the center of your table so you can see what you're eating and see the food but it's enough off to the side. There is plannable, free parking. Their bathrooms are clean and pleasant. They have an entry ramp for those who need it, including wheelchairs. Highly recommended. Ordered two orders to go of tuna and salmon poke bowls. They were NOT good. When I opened my poke bowl I got a wave of fish smell. Not a good way to start a meal. The container was filled 90% with filler slaw a blob of slimy green stuff and avocado and small portion of white rice. Not a lot of salmon or tuna was in the bowl and the pieces were tiny little scraps. They looked like garbage fish remnants. There were pieces that were not trimmed well with brown still on it. I'm bummed and still hungry. Gave it two stars cause I felt bad I've had many lovely meals at this restaurant, but this one was a such a disappointment. :( read more

As a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant staple, I had always wanted to give it a try. But being up in Northbrook attached to a mall, I just never found my way up there. I met friends, who live in Evanston, for dinner here at their suggestion. I'm so happy they get me out of downtown and into restaurants I've never tried before. I wish I had made it a point to shop and dine here a long time ago. You know, back when malls were bustling, you shop all afternoon and you drop into a booth with all of your shopping bags looking for an ice cold martini and a delicious meal. It was sad to see the elegant Neiman Marcus all closed up. The restaurant has a bit of a mid-century vibe to it. Warm muted tones, modular square lighting and a separate bar area really created a classic essence of a supper club. When I called to adjust the reservation time, the woman on the phone was incredibly polite and helpful. When we arrived, the man who checked us in was less than welcoming, could not find our reservation and seemed irritated. When I explained we changed the time a bit hoping that might help, he got a little snippy. Luckily a very sweet woman walked up (probably the lady on the phone) and took over. So a small hiccup but off putting none the less. Our booth was large and comfortable. The plexiglass divider added a bit of reassurance for indoor diners. Our server grabbed our drink order and a fabulous dinner began. They had run out of the special of the day cards but the server knew what was offered. We had salads and the Tuna Tartare appetizer. My friends loved the Oven Roasted Whitefish that came with a ton of potatoes and veggies and the Crab Cakes that were big and full of fresh crab. I had the Rainbow Sushi Roll that was fresh and delicious. It came with two sauces to try. In addition to traditional soy, there was also a remoulade. To finish, we tried the Key Lime Pie and the Chocolate Mousse Cake. It was the perfect way complete a lovely meal with friends. Don't waste your time or money on De Pescara in Northbrook! The brussel sprouts were burnt with fatty bacon; the Rigatoni tasted like it was made with a cheap jar sauce and greasy mystery meat. I gave our waiter a $25 Lettuce Entertain Holiday Bonus card and he said I couldn't use it because it was Passover. The back of the card only stated that it could not be used on Valentine's Day or Easter, so I asked to speak with the manager, Bhavna Chanana. She said it was Passover and corporate advised them not to honor these cards. I scanned the QR code on the back of the card looking for details and it brought up MILFTOON Porn Comics. I was shocked! This place wasn't busy, the service was poor, the food was horrible and the manager was useless. It's no wonder this outdated restaurant was almost empty! read more

Sooo good!! They just opened up the outside tent "outdoor dining" experience. Came to the mall to shop and got hungry obviously and Di Pescara looked like a great option for dinner. They got us in without a reservation because at the time we went it wasn't too busy. Heated tent which was nice because I really don't want to be eating dinner in the cold. We ordered the turkey burger, poke bowl, and crab cake. Crab cake was the best thing but sad part is it only comes with 1 crab cake, but enough to share with another person for a small appetizer. Portion size was good, service was amazing. I really like my poke bowl and I would love to come back to try more. They are a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant I believe so that's also nice! Support your restaurants people it tough times for them out here and I know they definitely spent a lot for that outdoor seating so I wanted to come support. This has become a staple lunch and dinner spot for me and I come here once a week. Service is always great and the food quality is excellent. Favorite apps to start with are the chicken meatballs which are super flavorful and the sauce is very fresh. Crispy brussels sprouts are also excellent and seasoned well. The chopped salad is always a favorite of mine and is super crunchy with the wasabi peas giving it a subtle spiciness and interesting flavor. Chicken parmesan is nicely portioned with a good amount of sauce to keep it flavorful but just enough to keep the chicken crispy. Braised short ribs are delicious as well with buttery mashed potatoes and roasted carrots. The service and food keeps me coming back and highly recommend if you're in the area. read more

Ordered take out. Came home. Order missing the Strawberry Shortcake. Called restaurant. Transferred two times talked to host then carry out, then placed on hold for manager. Call then disconnected. Called back. Host says they did not hang up on me. I said the call dropped. They transferred me again to carry out. On hold again so I decided to come on yelp and share my experience. Can't tell you if the food is good because I have been on hold and now online sharing my experience so I haven't got to eat it. We used to be big fans of this place, but it's gone downhill a lot in the last year or so. Takeout orders almost always have a mistake in them, but the kicker came when we found a nail with a band-aid in a salad. We called the restaurant and their solution was to send a gift card that worked out to a partial refund for the meal with the nail. We had a wonderful experience here last week. Our evening plans called for an early dinner which ended up allowing us to enjoy the "Supper Club menu." This menu is only available from 11:30-5 on weekdays. For about $30 you get a drink(NA or glass of house wine), Salad or soup, entrée and dessert. The selections they had on this menu were outstanding and plentiful. Some of our party has different diets and this was easily accomplished through the variety of selections for each course. The food was really outstanding and all of us truly enjoyed the meal. We were stuffed and very happy. I can't wait to go back and try more. read more

Poke bowl here was fantastic. It definitely needed the dressing which tied the entire dish together, it the salmon and tuna were fresh and not fishy, the rice was classic sticky, and the cabbage and other greens had a great crunch and flavor. Neither the menu nor the waitstaff informed us that the $36 Bronzino was going to be a single tiny fillet when we ordered to split the meal. Imagine our surprise when we were served. We understand restaurants have had to make changes in order to survive but the least they could do is inform their customer. Very disappointed how this was handled in a supposed fine dining restaurant. After emailing the restaurant direct. Very disappointed, had dinner there last night. We have been eating there since it opened and never had a bad meal. Last night however, I ordered Parmesan Shrimp with linguini and the shrimps were incredibly tough. I called the waiter and told him the problem. He replaced the shrimp with a chopped steak which I told him to make medium rare. When it came it was well done. My wife ordered whitefish, which she gets regularly. Came with a large group (I think there was about 16 of us) and were seated immediately on a Saturday at 7:30. Fantastic. We ordered the shrimp, sushi (assorted), and the fabulous fabulous fabulous calamari. Did I say the calamari was fabulous? Understatement. It is prepared with a zesty pop of giardiniera peppers. Omg this place is great! It's one of my fav spots! There is a lot of yummy items on the menu, from appetizers to desserts and the sides of vegetables you are able to add to your main order. When dining at Northbrook Court we typically opt for dinner at CPK, which my kids go nuts for. Or if we're really feeling "adventurous" maybe the salad bar at Claim Company. Recently I wasn't feeling either option and opted for the fancy schmancy route (or as fancy schmancy we get with the kids) at Di Pescara. The hostess took one look at my rowdy 4 yr old and 2 yr old and seated us way in the back of the restaurant. I can't say I blame her! I've eaten at Di Pescara many times with adults and typically go the sushi route. It's not quite as good as what you'd find at a sushi restaurant, but good enough. And the rolls are huge. I always think I'll want 2, but 1 tends to be plenty. Their kids menu has many great options. We ordered the pasta with veggies for both kids. Once the food arrived I realized one kids meal would have been plenty for both of them, but this way we didn't have any sharing issues. The best part of their kids meal is that it comes with an ice cream cone for dessert. We convinced my 4 year old that there was a camera in the ceiling watching to see how she behaved...and if all goes well she'd be enjoying some ice cream for dessert. The plan worked perfectly, but not as well with my 2-year-old who doesn't understand the concept of being threatened quite yet. Maybe next year! It was a nice change from our usual spots, although a bit expensive for what it is. We'll likely continue to take the kids to their favorite spots and save this one for adult only meals before movies and other reasons to eat at the mall, but nice to switch it up everyone once in awhile. read more
