I ordered a lot of food here for my birthday party. I felt that the occasion called for more than Domino's, but it still needed to be relatively cost-effective given the order's scale. The food arrived on time and relatively hot. Though I remember having this pizza a few years ago and enjoying it, I found it largely unremarkable here. The mushroom and onion toppings were OK, but it was strange to see sauteed onions in the mix; that is unusual in this context. The pizza was not very flavorful, and the sauce was too sweet and didn't work well with the cheese, which itself fell off quite easily after the first bite. They advertised three salads and should've specified one that was without lettuce. The Caesar is obviously going to have lettuce and the caprese is not - both types of salad are well known enough to warrant the use of "obviously." But the remaining salad seemed as if it would be regular, just with tomatoes, olives, and onions. It was...those three ingredients (plus spices and oil). To that end, those ingredients tasted great as a finished product, but it wasn't what I was expecting to feed a large crowd, with some picky eaters. read more

Driving around with my husband late Saturday afternoon, looking for a late lunch/early dinner. Opened Yelp to see if we were near any place new to us. We happened to be done the street from Vinny's. The menu looked yummy! They had lots of pasta dishes, pizza, and panzerotti which are my favorite! We went inside and were greeted by a very nice gentleman. We ordered a pizza and panzerotti to take home. Everything was ready quicker than we thought. I'm still dreaming of my panzerotti! By the way, it's a circle of dough with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese inside (you can add more ingredients; I like mine with just sauce and cheese), it's then folded and deep fried. It wasn't heavy like some places make them. No big dough border around it. My husband loved the pizza. Thin and crisp. Definitely want to return!! The location is small. Maybe two high top tables. I've never seen so many five star reviews for a new place, so either it was a five star experience or lots of friends wrote reviews. While I'm not going the five star route just yet, I will go with four stars on my one and only visit for take out pizza. I'll have to try more of the menu before considering upping my rating. The medium sausage pizza I picked up was still hot when I got home from my ten to fifteen minute ride. The crust is thin but not cracker thin which is fine with me. The sauce was very tasty and salty but it didn't over power the cheese and the tasty Italian sausage. Plenty of wonderful mozzarella cheese and sausage on it as well, which I also like. I want a piece of sausage in every bite I take and this did the job. It was very good to excellent and I welcome it into my favorite pizza list. I will try different ingredients and especially the Fusion pizza which has Salumi, Prosciuto cotto, hot Salami and Mortadella and of course the mozzarella. Plenty of pasta dishes on the menu too. I still think Vinny's thin crust is "the bomb"; but didn't realize it has to be eaten hot out of the oven. One of the messages I received said "between 7:45 and 8:00." Another said 7:57. If you order online and get a 1/2 hour pickup time, it may already have been out of the oven for 15 minutes. Then if you don't eat it for another, say, 10 minutes, it can become as chewy as beef jerky. You need to order by phone to find out when it's coming out of the oven. Or at least show up no more than 15 minutes after you order if you're just getting thin crust pizza. If you won't be eating it hot, get it par-baked and finish it at home. I did this to bring it to friends in Lake Bluff and it was fine. read more

Just moved to Glenview from the Northside of Chicago and have been on the hunt for a good pizza joint. The pizza was great and the fried mushrooms reminded me of Browns Chicken (but bigger and better). Below average pizza place on the North shore. I don't find anything that special or super tasty about the pizza or anything else I tried. I got the fusion pizza, which is there speciality. It had mortadella, salami, and prosciutto and there wasn't much I enjoyed about it. I found the flavor of the sauce to be nothing special. The cheese was very thick and chewy and not gooey and stringy as I've enjoyed with other pizzas. The crust I found to be a bit doughy and not super crispy and enjoyable. I also tried the fried mushrooms, italian beef, and tiramisu. The fried mushrooms were tasty; they were crispy with a light breading and seasoned well. The Italian beef was meh. It was a tad dry and again like with the pizza, there's nothing with the beef that's making me want it again. It didn't have a super seasoned and savory flavor. The tiramisu was very good, however. Nice balanced coffee flavor and mascarpone filling to ladyfinger ratio. I can see people liking this place just for the variety and convienence, but I've had better pizza and found that my staple pizza spots are too good to have me wanting to come back here again. read more

Our family loves pizza, so we've tried them all! We live close to Vinny's and saw the great reviews, so we really wanted to love this pizza. Ordering and pickup were fast and efficient, and our Caprese salad was fresh and delicious. However, the crust on both pizzas was hard and tasted quite bland. We tried the Cheese, the Pepperoni, and the Sausage. We read that the chef believes in keeping in simple (no unnecessary spices), so maybe it's great for some people.
