Went there on a Thursday night at 7:00 and the place was bustling! Great all around service, from our waiter to the busboys. Brian is a wonderful general manager, and keeps the place running smoothly, and the guests happy. Unfortunately, tonight was Brian's night off. (Well deserved!) I had the seafood salad, and substituted more crab for calamari. The salad was excellent. Great remoulade dressing. I also had the clam chowder, which truly was some of the best chowder, I've had anywhere! My son had a hamburger, which he enjoyed very much. Do not forget about this restaurant. The food was great! Crab cake well worth it's price on a bed of fresh cut corn and a splash of arugula. Love their aioli sauce. But there's no carryout parking spot or offer to bring it out. We hit Di Pescara for restaurant week after being trapped in the house for 48 hours of polar vortex (or as my friend calls it Polar dick punch). Sometimes the restaurant week menu isn't a totally accurate picture of the menu, but they served items from their normal menu, so in this case, I'll hazard a guess that it is. The food was good, not UH-MAZING, but good. The seafood chopped salad was huge, as was the chicken briony (or is it BRONY!? I'll see myself out) and the sauce with the chicken was very flavorful. I'm glad the desserts were teeny tiny to offset the rest of the food. Our server was very friendly and service was quick, but as others have mentioned in general, they let dishes pile up on the tables, and I thought it was a little odd that the host who took us to our table dropped a special menu from inside the menu on the way over and instead of bringing it to the table, he picked it up and took it back to the host stand. As the Yelp 3-star description says, everything was A-OK, I just don't know if I'll rush back. read more

This is a lettuce entertain you restaurant and is has been here for more than decade. It's consistent and yet has reinvented itself over the years t remain relevant. Seafood is fresh especially the fish. Daily specials are worth inquiring about also. They are quite amenable to tastes as well. Came here for the first time in 16 months with my family. My latest visit to Di Pescara was much improved. It's amazing what a difference great service makes in the restaurant experience. Our group was a large work dinner for 17. A few of us arrived early, so we grabbed seats in the bar area and enjoyed a glass of wine with an order of Artichokes alla Marco while we waited for our table. I really like the cozy, intimate setting of the lounge, and would be content to return for a cocktail and a couple of appetizers. Perhaps the Di Pescara dining room really shines with large groups. Our table had two servers, and numerous food and drink runners kept the party going smoothly. I thoroughly enjoyed my Maine lobster salad, which was large enough for two to three people to share, and gluten free to boot. read more

We recently moved to the area and are using the fact that our kitchen is still packed to try some of the restaurants in the neighborhood. A Lenten Friday dinner meant that my husband needed a good meatless or fish option and so we ended up here. There was a small snafu at the beginning -- my husband called ahead to ask if there was a wait. He was told there wasn't but they took his name anyway in case they got busier before we arrived. When we got there and gave our name, they had no record of it. I assume the person he talked to thought she'd be the one to greet us so didn't write it down. We were seated right away but it caused some initial confusion. Our server was attentive, despite how busy the restaurant was. We never had to wait or ask for refills on our drinks -- he was on top of it. He checked in a few times without being intrusive or overbearing. I ordered the California roll and a green goddess salad. The California roll was good. The rice was tender and the flavors were balanced. The green goddess salad was fantastic. The herbs and garlic were pronounced without being overwhelming. My husband had the seafood trio, which came with a lobster tail, a crab cake, and salmon. I stole a bite of the crab cake which was rich and flavorful. We didn't know until the end of dinner that diPescara is a LEY restaurant (bummer - we have a gift card at home we could have used!). It didn't change anything about the experience, except we got some rewards in the LettuceEat app for our dinner. read more

If you want to go to a senior cafeteria with hit or miss dishes, this is your place. Wanted a bustling Italian restaurant with the din of table talk and the sound of silverware hitting the plates. But it was mostly quiet except for some breaking glass. Older crowd. Ordered shrimp cocktail and the shrimp smelled like it had just gone bad. Turned it away. Minestrone soup was ok. Pasta was pretty good. My son's filet was nice. Maybe they have too ambitious a menu to excel at seafood and Italian food. read more

Great Executive Chef in Michael Bonner, very talented with great recipes and his kitchen crew at DiPescara are spot on in performance and preparation! Five stars! We agreed that DiPescara needs to get a firm grip. Renovate! Make it bright, light, modern restaurant with wood floors.  We are 20 years into a new millennium! We want to go back.....but with the dining room as it is right now, that's not going to happen. BTW: we traveled to come and dine here. We were promptly seated but instantly noted that the main dinning area has too many tables for it's size. Very cramped space, could lose 4 tables to make it less cramped but lets face it.. that's a lot less profit. Appetizers/Sushi and salads all came very quickly and were all delicious. The sushi was very good, of which my expectations were low due to reviews on Yelp. I am currently sitting down at this restaurant as I am writing this. I came here to treat my guest to dinner for 4th of July. A total of 6 of us. One of my guest order his usual California roll and he said it was not fresh and had a bitter taste to it. I order the chicken parm. And they bring out a chicken without pasta. WHAT KIND OF ITALIAN RESTAURANT doesn't have pasta for their chicken parm? Even if it is Al a carte, the waiter should have naturally mentioned it in regards to the pasta. My guest also order dishes they thought pasta came with. And they awkwardly ate their entrees. By the time their side pasta came, they already ate their main entree... What made it worst was that the pasta we spent 20 mins waiting for was not cool and still hard. I tried my best to look pleasant and tell the server that we were dissatisfied but because they were closing at 7, they did not want to fix or cook the noodles more. In fairness, this is probably not somewhere I would ever come if I had to pay for my own meal. However, if you want to treat, I'm game! The seafood chopped salad here is AH-MA-ZING! Seriously so good. And so much food. The rest of the menu looks tasty too, but I've never felt it necessary to order anything else because I really love this salad. I've only ever been to Di Pescara for lunch, and we always sit in the bar area. Service is top notch. It is a little dark inside, as some other reviews have noted, but I've never found it to be a problem. It's pricey. But you get a lot. So I can't really say that it's not worth what you pay... it's just more than I'm typically willing to pay, especially for lunch! read more

I do not recommend that you order online from this restaurant. They have multiple items on their online portal that they can't provide. I know this because they sent me the wrong order for dinner, replaced it with the wrong order, and charged me for something I didn't order Then, I made the mistake of giving them another try for lunch. Again, they didn't have the item I ordered. They replaced it with a lesser cost item, and did not adjust my bill. So yeah. Order online at your own risk. read more

We shared our first post Covid meal with some friends for an early dinner last night. Like several of our favorite restaurants coming off the pandemic they are at the top of their game and prepared an outstanding dinner. We ordered off their Supper club menu which features three courses and select beverages for $26.95 per person. We started with their orchard salad featuring pear, apple, pumpkin seeds, blue cheese and greens in a green goddess dressing. Very enjoyable. My horseradish crusted Whitefish was generously portioned, well prepared, and served on a bed of spinach in a delicious tomato sauce. Succulent, not overwhelmed by the crust, and no pin bones. My wife enjoyed the baked salmon in a barbecue soy ginger sauce served on a bed of green beans. It too was well cooked and tender and delicious. Included desserts of peppermint ice cream with hot fudge sauce and chocolate mousse cake were also wonderful. Service was efficient and attentive and the manager stopped briefly to check on us. We really enjoyed our first post Covid meal with old friends and highly recommend Di Pescara. They are trying hard to please their customers. read more

This was the first in restaurant dining experience in almost 10 months and it did not disappoint. This also was not my first time dining here, I def should've written a review sooner. They bring out a yummy warm bread to start. We got the fried calamari and tuna tartare for apps and they were both delicious. For my main dish, I got their chopped salad with shrimp (this salad is my freaking favorite) and he got the oven roasted salad with fingerling potatoes. We also got the chocolate mousse cake to go bc we were just stuffed by the end. That chocolate mousse cake is divine. Super rich and chocolatey mm! Our server was lovely, however she did forget our to go dessert at the end for longer than I liked, but that's okay, NBD. We will be back for more!! Oh and they have a pretty large tent set up outside for covid reasons and they are doing a v good job of following all the rules and staying safe. I felt comfortable eating in here. read more

Di Pescara is a local Lettuce Entertain You restaurant. It is in the NORTHBROOK court mall and it is usually pretty busy. I have tried to come here a few times where there was a substantial wait. The parking is mall parking and can be a bit tricky. The restaurant is an Italian fish place. They also serve sushi, which I've never had. They bring out bread with the most delicious olive oil. My favorite dish is their miso surf and turf and my husband is a big fan of their gnocchi. It should be noted that if you are a big Saranello's fan, this has a very similar menu and likely the same owner. As far as service goes, I think it is quite good. Di Pescara is a nicer restaurant and it would be hard to spend less than $20 a person. I think it's menu is slightly limited but has some tasty dishes. read more

Visted Di Pescara for lunch last week. They had no mussels and linguini. Thou, I ordered shrinks with angel pasta. Both the pasta and the shrinks were overcook presented over a very thin sauce and tasteless. I am generous with 3 stars. read more

BAR RESCUE LIVE You know all of these shows where they set up hidden cameras & then the owners sit & watch what the staff does. Well I felt like I was sitting on my couch watching that show, but instead I was in the middle of the mess. I really don't want to call out a single employee but our bartender/waiter was not really good. He seemed nice but wasn't very good at multitasking. I witnessed so many things that I will not be able to share all of it with you within the 5001 character limit Yelp has. I asked our waiter about why the Calamari marinara was called "our way" in the menu. The waiter informed me that it really means nothing! What? It has to mean something. Even though he knew nothing about it, I still decided to order it. When it hit the table it was covered in spicy marinara sauce with a drizzle of balsamic & fresh basil. Okay that seems like something to me. First of all I liked it but what if I didn't like spicy or balsamic. It also arrived at room temperature. I wasn't happy but I do not send food back. Our waiter doesn't know the menu at all. We also ordered the crispy shrimp pescara with spicy sauce. It was actually hot in temp, when compared to the calamari. How could two apps delivered at the same time be different temperatures. I know our calamari was sitting for a while. Also the shrimp was described as spicy in the menu & wasn't spicy at all. The calamari was spicier. I also believe that the policy here is to not clean tables at all. The table next to us was covered in dirty dishes for over an hour, then the staff started dropping off more dirty dishes. It was pretty disgusting. In fact, we started a nice collection of dirty dishes on our own table. Why won't the staff pick them up? I also ordered the Braised short rib on Parmesan crusted ciabatta with cheddar & fried onions. I asked the waiter about it & he was able to tell me it was his favorite. I asked about the sauce & he told me it comes with au jus and sauce on the side. I was thinking BBQ sauce but instead it was ketchup. Is ketchup a sauce? My friend Eddie, from college, use to eat it on his spaghetti, so I must be mistaken. The sandwich was tasty. I only had one bite because I was a little full. As we were sitting there, the manager Brian asked if we were okay. I'm sure it was because I was taking notes in my phone. I told him we were good but in reality it was hard for us to leave because this was some great entertainment. Brian even came back and offered us all free desert. Did he know we were watching? We politely turned him down. Finally settling on a small scoop of vanilla for our little one. I will say that the manager Brian's offer of free desert was the nicest thing to happen here. Okay back to the show. I had called Brian over to inquiry about what "our way" means for the calamari. Brian had a long description about what that means. I told him what his waiter told us & Brian said, "I will inform him." Two minutes later Brian told our waiter to just stay behind the bar & he was bringing in a new server. The new server took the "Sex in the city" table next to us. Yes I now had to listen to Samantha talk about her first date with a guy. I really don't need to start watching another show. Our waiter kept working the floor even though Brian had told him to stay behind the bar. Later I heard our waiter complain! He said, "I'm not mad at you but Brian put you in my section & I've got nothing to do. It's slow in here." Our waiter needs to start watching this show, that I'm watching. Honestly this waiter couldn't handle watering my garden, if I let him. Staff should never talk bad about management, when customers are sitting there. We were just about to leave, when I heard our waiter tell a carry out customer that he couldn't find her salad. He walked around the room twice & told her he was having the kitchen make another one. I pushed my wife back into the booth & said, "I gotta watch this one!" The customer got mad & said, "I've been waiting 8 mins already!" The waiter said, "I can probably comp you the salad!" He told her that it seems like the customer before her took the wrong salad. She only took the wrong salad because this waiter gave it to the first customer. I'm never gonna leave here. I'm wondering how long it's gonna take the first lady to realize she has the wrong salad & return. This place is a total mess. I might be sitting here all night watching this. Another table asked our waiter a few questions about the Lobster Fest they were running. He said to the customers, "Do you know Red Lobster? We kind of stole the idea from them!" Honestly I can't make this up. I'm sure the LEY chefs would be happy to know this fact. Okay so if you are bored & you want to watch a train wreck. I highly recommend u come in here & watch this TV show. I also witnessed 4 tables that had things wrong with there food. I am a big fan of lettuce entertain you restaurants. This is no exception. My son and I went for a Sunday dinner. Even though you are eating at a mall, plan to make reservations if you are coming for dinner. The chicken parm on the kids menu is a good delicious value for $8 and includes a drink and peppermint ice cream. I had spaghetti marinara which sounds boring but was great. I often stick with their chicken dishes which are all very good. I also enjoyed a small green goddess salad to start. Crusty bread, olive oil and Parmesan are offered to start. The menu is eclectic but I think their Italian options can stand up to many good Italian restaurants. read more

Doesn't fish and chips WITH fried shrimp sound awesome? That's what I thought too, until the dish I ordered for an early dinner came out and I saw the "chips". I was served a mound of tiny match-shaped potato sticks. What are these "chips" that you speak of? Not the thick, soggy-in-some-places, chips that you get and douse with malt vinegar. This could have been incredible, but I ended up wasting a lot of food here. J's scallop dish wasn't better either. It was drowning in a cream-sauce. If the seafood had been fresh, why would you do this to it? It was hard to eat, lacking in flavor, especially at $25 a plate. Then, I thought, "HEY! I love the brioche doughnut balls here", and those too disappointed. Not even warmed though. I rarely turn down carbs sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. Still a bit mildewy smelling and filled with a geriatric crowd. The good? My chowder and the ginger lemonade. But we all know I like to eat more than that. read more

Great drinks, great seafood, superior service and a smartly contemporary atmosphere make this place special. I'm a seafood fan, so I'd be happy if my last meal were shellfish. The quality is high here. What I like most about this place is that it feels like a hidden gem, a private club. It's neither hidden, in the upscale Northbrook Court mall near Neimans, nor private, because it's very popular. But the lighting, colors and service in the place give it a je ne sais quoi. It's part of the Lettuce Entertain You empire, so they've got the service down. I've tried the Louie Louie salad for lunch and the whole wheat capellini. Both were outstanding. Prices are reasonable too for what you get. It feels so civilized to eat here after shopping at this haute haven. read more

Incredible! From the bread all the way down to the perfectly Cooked Chilean Sea Bass. I substituted spinach instead of asparagus and it was delicious. The fish was flaky, moist and perfectly cooked! I've been to this restaurant a few times, and each time it is consistently "sturdy" and by that I mean, good food, uniquely different, but not "over the top" but that's ok! I'm not a salad person, but their salads are extremely good! Their mayfair dressing for the ceaser salad is wonderful. It's very creamy and the anchovies are subtle and gives it the perfect taste. The croutons are homemade and meaty bread is used. Their sandwiches are excellent and their chicken was cooked perfectly, seasoned proportionally. Their service, from the servers to management are LYE standard, which is excellent. Everyone showed a genuine concern and were very responsive to any concerns I had. Incidentally, this visit they were able to prepare a luncheon for 30 people with two hours time, and they were right on time. My clients were extremely pleased. DiPescara will not disappoint. My only "beef" pardon the pun, is that they don't have sausage or any pork products. Imagine that! An Italian restaurant without pork! But that's ok, still great restaurant, and its a highly Jewish area. NO problem for me, I'm Catholic...and I appreciate sensitivity to our fast and abstinence laws. Mazel tov! read more

Another nice LEY restaurant here. It's mainly Italian, but they also have sushi and burgers and other sandwiches as well. Food quality is very good. Wife had their sushi (rainbow roll) and chopped salad combo for $17.95. I had their burger with grilled onions and fries for $11.95. The burger was nicely presented disassembled and I could on put my own amount of grilled onions, and ketchup, etc. I also very much liked the cloth towels in the washroom, and hadn't encountered that in a while. Waiter and water service were both a bit slow. There were a lotta apparently non-working housewives dining, and it was quite busy for a 12:45pm lunch. They may have been headed to the adjoining Northbrook Court mall afterwards or just before lunch! read more

Where do I begin. My boyfriend and I were headed to a movie at northbrook court tonight . I'm a loyal lettuce entertain you member so I suggested we go to di pescara for dinner. They are having a scratch off promotion and it just so happened I got 3X points, so I was looking forward to going. Di pescara has a nice ambiance. Soft atmosphere. Lighting was on point, music was a good volume, and temperature was comfortable. We sat down at the bar because last time we were there we got really horrible service and weren't even greeted upon being sat after 10 minutes. Tonight was no different. The man bartending was overwhelmed, unfriendly, very frustrated, and should not have been taking tables in the bar as well as bartending. We watched as what I had assumed to be the manager stand by the bar and doing nothing. Not touching tables, not jumping in to help, and talking to the bartender on the other side of the well standing at the terminal. You could tell he was trying his best, he was moving with a sense of urgency, but there's a way to acknowledge your guests and be friendly while doing it. I would know. We asked for waters and when we finally got them they were given to us with his hand over the rim of the glass. His hand was cupping the rim of the glass. That was the last straw for me as I said let's go we will dine someplace else. I was so appalled. We frequent at big bowl in Lincolnshire and something like this would never happen.
