Their location is out of the way for us, but we heard it was highly recommended so stopped by on the weekend. it was just two of us, but we couldn't decide so we left with a dozen donuts. Some of the flavors seemed so bizarre, but we wanted to to give them all a shot. We asked for recommendations so they made sure we got some of their more popular options. Every donut knocked it out of the park -- including the weird ones. There was one that had bay (?) seasoning that was brilliant. We loved how they seem to be having fun experimenting with flavors but are sticking to what is actually good. The only one that was "just good" and not amazing seemed to maybe have coffee grounds in the frosting -- not quite sure. (We should've written all the flavors down!) We will definitely go back and highly recommend it. It's a great small business and addition to the community. Food: Maple Bacon Donut was bought, but not eaten for a few hours (due to seeing Bop Pizza and its gelato next door neighbor) but was still a wonderful mix of sweet and savory on a fluffy yeast donut. I've had this type of donut on a cake and wasn't impressed- Diablo's did it right. My party had 3 different donuts (sorry gang but I can't remember the names, however a cookies and cream concoction was a hit with the little guy and a blackberry topped selection was very sweet so be prepared for it to taste as sweet as it looks) Customer Service: When we arrived, there were 3 folks in front of us. This gave us time to look at the selections. A friendly tattooed gentleman chatted with my little guy as he asked about the kind of milk they have. He could see that my son was excited about getting a donut and talked it up with him. It was around the 10am hour and more donuts were being set out so that was even more entertaining to my guy. Our service was on point. The Space: small like a drop in donut shop should be. We were given the offer to have a table set up for us, but declined as we were planning to be mobile anyway. Berry Cronut: Good flakiness of the cronut with berry icing on top. Would recommend if you want something slightly less sweet (the cronut helps balance out the sweetness) Chocolate cake donut with berry icing on top. The staff was very helpful and fun to chat with and had the patience of saints as my indecisive libra ass struggled between two flavors. "ONE OF EACH" they chanted and it swiftly became a rally cry for the disillusioned and socially distant, as my friend and I joined the chant in unison and suddenly Jean Valjean was there waving a giant flag bearing the insignia of Diablo Doughnuts, and we marched into the morning ready to fight the hunger of our generation!!! Holy crap, my family drove from ct to md in order to have these donuts and man I was not at all disappointed. Make sure you get here early, as in right when they open up, so that you have access to all the flavors. On the day I went they had so many options and not a single one that I tried was anything less than incredible. My favorites were the unicorn fart (with fruity pebbles), the hybrid donut that was half bacon and maple and half s'mores (like how is that even legal it's that amazing) and a raspberry one. The donuts were fresh, light, and incredibly flavorful. They were also absolutely beautiful and every single one tasted amazing. Had to check out all this doughnut hype! Wow!! I've had my fair share of donuts and this is by far the best ever!! The whole experience is 150%. The place is really cool, the owner handed me my donuts and got my coffee. That's impressive! Then he walked me outside and shared updates of what's coming. To take that time to speak to lil ole me, that's top notch service. The looks alone and presentation, hard to hold back! I got the Boston cream, comes with rainbow sprinkles and the glazed. My husband and I moved to Delaware and even make a special trip to the shop when we visit the area. What we love is the fact that they're one of a kind donuts. My favorite was the fruity pebbles one followed by the maple bacon. Lucky charms was a close third but I would prefer to only have the marshmallow charms minus the cereal parts. It can be hard to choose what to get so maybe plan a few trips to try different donuts until you pick your favorite. Honestly, I didn't expect much from these donuts. Yeah, there are cool flavors available, but I just wasn't "wowed" walking in and seeing them. I got four and it came out to a bit over $11. To me, this is an expensive doughnut ($3 each). The taste and flavors didn't really justify the pricing either. I did appreciate the large size of the doughnuts (making it easy to share). The owner is spectacularly unprofessional. I ordered $30 worth of donuts days in advance, because apparently it's to much to ask to just stop by and buy a donut, like a normal place. But I did, but the day of I was running late to pick them up. I do not fault the owner for having very strict and rigid rules for pick ups. He decided that he can't be bothered to be open more than 9 hours a week. But that's on the website, so it's public knowledge before you shop there.  When I called and said I was 90 minutes from the shop and running late to get them he reluctantly offered to allow me to pick up the donuts from another shop nearby. And I was ok with that. But then mid conversation he changed his mind and decided to stay and wait. But he let me know that he shouldn't have to stay because it's my fault for being late. And I was majorly inconveniencing him. But he MIGHT stick around, and to call when I was close. He called about an 75 minutes later to ask if I was close. I told him it was going to take longer and if he could leave them at the other shop, like he offered that would be easier for both of us.  Before I knew it he was screaming about how he has a small business of just him and his wife, how he hadn't slept since 9pm the night before! How the contract says he can keep my money. And I'm so inconsiderate! I cut him off, because none of that was relevant. When I just straight asked him "Sir, what's the resolution?" He said, "Don't yell at me! You are so rude! And you just don't care that I'm waiting." It's not that I didn't care, but I was in fact late and he didn't have a solid contingency plan for late pick-ups. Either leave them at another shop. Wait. Or you keep the $30. But yelling on the phone at me while you weigh all the options is disgraceful and a terrible way to conduct yourself professionally. I ended up hanging up on him because this conversation was way too intense with a total stranger over friggin donuts. He called back literally 8 minutes later to go on and on about how I don't care about him. But he'll still refund my money, even though the contract says he doesn't have to. He may refund my money, he may not. Whatever. I just know with that much hatred and negativity I don't want that energy in my food. So he can keep the donuts. Take the $30 and see an anger management therapist. read more

Found this place on Yelp, so I decided to go with my sister yesterday. The store is easy to find, and is cute inside with the huge doughnut murals on the walls at the entrance, but once you walk inside, it kinda seems a little bare bones and oddly eclectic. There's farmhouse pendant lighting, skateboards on the walls, and two walls full of comics. The Simpsons one makes sense, but all the old retro Nickelodeon ones there too. There wasn't a long line, but it felt long because we weren't really moving along. My personal recommendation would be to have one person take the orders and box them up, and a second person to ring people out, to speed things up, but maybe it was just a busy moment for the store. The doughnuts were good, and the blackberry lime one was the best one we had. We, of course, had to try a unicorn fart doughnut, which was good, but obviously it's just pure sugar. The blackberry lime though was so good, with a perfect amount of both flavors. I enjoyed the blueberry basil also, but Blue Star doughnuts in the PNW has them beat on that flavor, so it didn't hold up to my expectations unfortunately. We visited here right after we went to Blue Moon Too which is right across the street. They have a variety of donuts and are very creative with their style of donuts. We ordered the S'mores donut and Creme Brulee. I was so stuffed I couldn't finish, but they were definitely some great donuts. I would revisit if I'm every in the area. Went to see what the hype is about? And what is it about I don't know. They are aesthetically pleasing and are good donuts but nothing tremendous. I had something that was a cross between a biscuit and a scone that was supposed to be raspberry white chocolate. I don't think anybody buys that one because it was like it had been sitting in the display for a month. I had to dunk it in milk to eat it (why did I eat it instead of using it as a doorstop?). Also nothing raspberry or white chocolate about it. The other donuts I tasted were good but tasted just like anything anwhere else. Breakfast sandwich--the sausage had way too much sage in it which overpowered the sandwich. And all of the items are very pricey. My companions enjoyed theirs. I think my expectations were just a little bit too high, but I still had a good experience. We grabbed doughnuts here for the first time this Saturday in the early afternoon. By the time we arrived after running errands all morning, they were low on flavors, so we will know to get there earlier for next time. We ordered blackberry lime (still warm), Samoa, maple bacon, and the caramel Old Bay flavor (still warm). I did not quite know what to expect for the blackberry lime, but it was not too sweet and tasted like blackberry pie. The maple bacon was a bit disappointing, as the bacon did not balance out the sweetness of the maple as much as a I thought it would, but it was still good. The caramel Old Bay also did not have enough Old Bay in it for me; I could pretty much only taste the caramel, so I actually ended up sprinkling some Old Bay on top when I got home. Overall, everyone at the shop was very friendly though, and the woman behind the counter made sure to give you a warm one if it was available. Definitely could use some improvement: Your mom, the Oreo crumb one, and Mexican hot chocolate. Samoa: Far better than the Girl Scout cookie (sorry ladies!). The doughnut itself is plush and has a great taste to it. Great canvas for the perfectly balanced caramel, chocolate drizzle, and tasty coconut flakes. Each bite I took I got more and more hungry. So sinful... Definitely the diablo's work! Creme Brulee: Thick vanilla custard enveloped by the fluffy dough and topped with the most delicate, thin layer of torched sugar. The texture dynamics of the sugar elevated the doughnut that would've otherwise been okay since the custard could've used more of a vanilla flavor. Berry Cheesecake: This doughnut is subtle. If you aren't a fan of too sweet, and want something "healthyish"... This one is for you. You can't really taste the cheese but you can taste the cream. The strawberries looked fresh and tasted bright against the backdrop of pillow dough and creamy pipping. Blackberry Lime and Blueberry Basil: Love these flavor pairings. Unique and light. Great showcase of the pure flavor of the ingredients and the fantastic texture of the doughnut. Maple Bacon: I don't typically like maple bacon but this pairing was balanced well. Generous bit of bacon lends a great crisp bite to the fluffy dough. Sin crunch, Captain Chesapeake, and fruit pebble: They were okay. Nothing to wrote home about. The cereal donuts had a strange neon blue icing piped on it that was confusing. The Chesapeake tasted like it had been very good at one point but was dialed down due to trying to please a larger demographic of people, making it indistinguishable. Could use improvement: the chocolate doughnuts had a shallow chocolate flavor. Also, their texture was much more dense, almost to the point of being dry. The Mexican hot chocolate doughnut was particularly disappointing. The presentation/Marshmallow was great. But what made this doughnut "Mexican hot chocolate" was a swirl of cinnamon icing that tasted more like a hot tamale than cinnamon spice. This doughnut, above all others, needs a bit of sprucing. I've had my eye on these donuts since the start of the pandemic but never had a reason to stop by. Recently, I placed a preorder because I knew I was gonna be in the area and let me tell you they did not disappoint. The faves were the blueberry basil, cream brûlée and berry cheesecake. Visually, they were beautiful and the donuts were bigger than the Krispy Kreme ones. I would have never though blueberry and basil go together but it was very balanced and unexpectedly delicious. We decided to check out Diablo Doughnuts after seeing it on IG. Their elaborate donuts and toppings immediately caught our eyes. We went on a Sunday around brunch time, but the line moved pretty quickly. Each donut was roughly $3 which isn't too bad. Some of the donuts came right out of the oven and others looked like they were sitting out for a while. We tried the donut with fruity pebbles and another with blackberry glaze. The store was about to close so their selection of donuts were not as extensive. I had the sin crunch, blueberry basil, cookies 'n cream, and maple bacon. I think if you order more than one or two, they'll serve the donuts in a box. They gave me a Diablo Donuts sticker too haha. All the donuts were all really soft and moist, not at all stale. The sin crunch had a generous amount of cinnamon, though the Cinnamon Toast Crunch had lost its crunch by that point & was a little soggy. The Blueberry Basil was my favorite! Such a unique flavor & the basil brought out the blueberry taste, gave it a bit of a tang. Cookies 'n Cream is moist but heavy! The cream is cream cheese so it is definitely rich. The aforementioned flavors are staples of the store, but the owner often puts fun new creations on the shelves.
