I stopped by Diabolo Doughnuts after hearing great things about their doughnuts from locals. Unfortunately it was around closing time, so they did run out of many flavors, but I took it as a sign that they must be doing something right! I decided to go with a box of 4 flavors, which were the Glazed, two Unicorn Farts (Classic yeast doughnut with vanilla bean glaze tossed in fruity ceral and a signature HOT PINK drizzle) and one Sin Crunch (Classic yeast doughnut in a vanilla bean glaze tossed in cinnamon sugar, signature HOT PINK drizzle with cereal down the doughnut hole). The doughnuts are gorgeous and really big so I was shocked that they were so affordable. After taking some pictures, I took a bite out of the Unicorn Farts and fell in love! The doughnut was fluffy, sweet and delicious. I also took a bite of the Sin Crunch and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves cinnamon sugar! All in all, Diablo Doughnuts has an eclectic & delicious menu, friendly staff and a very chill ambiance. Next time I stop by, I'll be sure to arrive early so I can try out some of their other amazing flavors! read more

We love this place! We have been here 3 or 4 times and every donut we have tried has been delicious and interesting. We honestly haven't had a bad donut yet. My favorite are the cake donuts, as well as the yeast donuts with interesting flavors, like the blackberry lime and the mexican hot chocolate. The iced coffees are also delicious, particularly the caramel flavor. The staff is always friendly, and take the time to explain the different flavors available to us. We are always quickly in and out to grab the donuts and coffee to go. We haven't had any issues with parking availability (you park along the side of the road outside). Man, I was just not a fan of these donuts at all. I opted for two donuts based on popularity on Yelp: the blueberry basil and the one with the Old Bay seasoning. I also opted for a seasonal special: golden latte with turmeric as I have a weakness for golden lattes. Sadly, all of these donuts fell very short for me, especially with their hefty price tag ($2+ per donut). For the blueberry basil, it's basically a normal donut that is topped with blueberry basil. Most of the donut has no flavor as it's just a normal donut with the topping. I wish that it had chunks of berries/basil throughout the actual donut - not just the topping. The golden latte one was just a-okay in my book again. It was actually a good texture donut, but the flavor was lacking again, IMO. The Old Bay seasoning one was the best, most unique out of the three I tried. It was odd tasting salty on top of the donut, but the topping made for a unique experience. Sadly, again, the actual donut had no flavoring and just wasn't a good tasting donut like I've had elsewhere. Sadly, I couldn't finish any of them and ended up tossing about half of each of them. This place is absolutely wonderful, a hidden little hipster gem right outside the city. Best, most creative, inventive unique donuts in the area. So many crazy, creative tasty combinations, you just have to see them and try. The donuts are honestly beautiful and so well-crafted. The shop is adorable too and parking is plentiful out front. Similar to shops selling brightly decorated cupcakes that vary only by icing (at least based on the ones I tried), these are more of an instagram thing or a place to bring a date. I need to preface this review with the fact that I have never been to the physical location of Diablo Doughnuts. My lovely Yelpy friend Melissa B. had told me about this place, as she is lucky enough to have an adoring hubby whom brings them home to her. My interest was piqued but I was deterred due to city parking and my own ineptitude. That being said, what I can vouch for is the doughnuts themselves, thanks to my super-awesome co-worker whom brought some in to the office this morning. My hands-down favorite was the Unicorn Farts. This is a doughnut covered in glaze and topped with Fruity Pebbles. Yes please. And also, It's pretty. Came here earlier today and I ordered the Blueberry Basil donut. Honestly, the donut was meh. As someone who makes bread and tries many donuts and doughs often, I was not blown away by Diablo. I think the reason they have such high ratings is for their fun flavors and I would love to come back and try the strawberry cheesecake or the Chesapeake donut with Old bay on it, but in terms of just the donut base, there is definitely better out there. Day one I loaded up on the carbs and ordered two. Peach Mint, which I think may be a seasonal one based on the sign out front. This was pretty good, for my personal taste a little too minty, still crushed it, however. Next, was Maple Bacon. Yeah. Enough said. Oh, you should known they call this one the Panty Dropper. On my second trip I exercised more control and order just one. A Unicorn Fart. This baby was covered with Fruity Pebbles. It was as expected and fun to eat. They must keep that horned horse in back cause I never saw it, or smelled it for that matter. The coffee is good, as well. Fresh and hot, but no fancy barista activity here, just be warned if that your thing. Cold brew os also available. Even though I had my own cup, I was told they could not fill it up. So I had to take the paper cup which I promptly threw in the waste basket, after transferring my coffee to my travel cup. This may frustrate some. At the end of the day when we bought this, the crumb was slightly dry. Similar thing with the cinnamon crunch. I used to bring 2 dozen of these bad boys to work once a month. They are such a hit! All of Diablo Doughnuts are so colorful, playful and yummy! I have tried almost all of their flavors but here are some of my favorites: 1. Unicorn Farts ($2.50 each) - come on, the name itself should make you want to buy one of this doughnut. It's basically colorful cereal crusted doughnut but it's so much fun to look at! 2. Panty Dropper ($3.00 each) - I crack up every time I say this. This doughnut is a maple bacon doughnut. I know it sounds weird that there is a crispy bacon on top of a maple glazed doughnut but trust me, it works! Yum! 3. Samoa ($2.50 each) - if you are like me and end up buying 10 boxes of girl scouts cookies then this is the doughnut for you. This doughnut imitates the coconut coated, chocolatey, caramely goodness that comes with Samoa cookies. Argh, heaven. 4. Strawberry Shortcake ($3.00 each) - I think this is a special flavor because I don't see it every time I go but this is my favorite. It's absolutely gorgeous how the strawberries are cut up and placed on top of the doughnut with cream filling. The sweet and tart flavors of the strawberry cuts through and complements the heavy, creamy taste of the filling. It's probably like 500 calories but when it's this delicious, I will gladly eat it and clog my arteries. Everyone that I have interacted with here are super friendly. Also, I organized an event with them where I had to feed 200 people and they were very accommodating and made the donuts half the size so that it was more of a "bite-sized" doughnut. Tips: They are closed on Monday AND Tuesday. If you want fresh doughnuts, you need to be there super early - I usually go around 8 am. read more

The only reason and I mean the ONLY reason they did not get a full 5 stars was because of the price of these donuts which are anywhere between $2 to almost $4 per donuts depending on how extravagant the piece is. A regular sugar donut can cost $2 to a Strawberry Cheesecake for $3.75. Don't get me wrong, the donuts are good, but you are not buying a dozen for your co-workers every other week.
