Neither he or anyone in his office knows more about EDS than anything you could just read online. It's a very cookie cutter experience. He's just banking on the the fact that there are no other EDS clinics and no competition to contradict his practices uselessness. He doesn't want to spend more than five minutes of his time with you. Just wants to inject needles into you and expect $500 cash in return. Even if he has an appointment with you just to talk to you for a few minutes and do nothing $500! However, the office manager is ridiculous. I needed a letter for a handicap admission to Museum elevators, etc., and while he was still at Tulane, his staff whipped it up free, no problem, but the second he got his own staff and practice the people running it, nickel and dime for everything and are very unprofessional. When I asked to update the letter this time I was charged $100 for a letter when any other doctor would have just filled out a form for free. They still did it incorrectly, it took weeks for them to get around to it, they did not fill out the form, and would not give me my money back. Plus, no apology for their incompetence. I went to my Primary Care and within five minutes she filled out the form for me and apologized that any doctor's office would be so monetized and unprofessional. There are other EDS doctors and other doctors that offer prolotherapy in New Orleans FIT will lie to your face and tell you that they are the only ones. They are not. It seems like they only care about getting a reputation like Instagram influencers to be famous and make money to work on athletes without compassion for everyday people.

How would you just want? Just a regular on-call doctor just to come in and say OK we're gonna do this. Why not leave him with a speciallist who will follow the notes accordingly

In building B they have a gorgeous new sports medicine rehab/PT room, inpatient rehab and medical offices. They are also currently undergoing further renovations. Most of the occupational therapy is done in a room in the back of the building rather than the fancy new room, but they still have comparable equipment. Building A houses an Ochsner lab (for blood draws), Ochsner Employee Health and medical offices. I go for physical therapy in the sports medicine building and really like it. The therapists are professional, friendly and knowledgable. They have nice new equipment and lots of tables and exercise machines. They employ computerized Epic charting like Ochsner's Main Campus so they always have your information pulled up and remember where you are in the therapy plan each week. I would return to this facility for any further PT/OT or sports rehab in the future without a doubt. Parking is limited in the front of the building, but they have a parking garage as well as lots behind building A and across the street behind building B. Note: this is not an emergency or urgent care facility, you must have a referral or appointment.

I've always had issues with sleeping so I decided to finally get one done and ask my general doctor for a referral. Make sure to give Sleep Rite a call as I didn't receive a call to make my appointment. It wasn't until I tried about two times to get a hold of someone properly was I able to get penciled in. There's a few things to know when preparing for your sleep study here. -Bring a comforter or your blankets (and sheets even) since the ones they provide aren't hotel grade. Definitely more so hospital vibes with the bedding. -There are two bed pillows they provide but I luckily brought my own. This is also key for folks who like to sleep with a few pillows and one in-between their legs for all of my fellow side sleepers. -Can't drink alcohol or caffeine after 12pm the day of your study -Minimal water and no other liquids after 5pm the day of your study -Wear pajamas you don't mind being watched in. They have to monitor you overnight so be conscious of that. You check-in the night of your sleep study at 8pm and are kept overnight until 5pm. They'll run down everything with you and let you know what to expect. For those of us who wake up in the middle of the night to use the restroom, there is medical staff working overnight so simply speak out loud when you need assistance and someone will be there to assist. They have a way to unhook all the wires without having to replace them on your skin. It takes some getting used to sleeping with the wires but you can be on your phone, watch tv, or use your phone until you fall asleep. I'll be going back for my CPAP study since I now have been officially diagnosed with sleep apnea so let's see how that one unfolds.
