Many window companies had a minimum of two or three windows before starting a project. I was in touch with Steve for most of the project and he was absolutely fantastic to work communicate with. He came to the home and did an initial assessment. Once we agreed on the work, i promptly received the docusign and we were on our way! He told me in advance there would be some wait because the window had to be special ordered. Once the window arrived, it was installed within a few days. Very satisfied with the end result.

LA Home Contractors showed up on time as promised and were detail-oriented in the prep, painting, and clean up. They were very patient with our nit-picking ways, always responding with utmost courtesy and patience. Purchasing Completely New AC - Heating System We were so delighted with the painting job that we also contracted with LA Home Contractor to upgrade our AC and Heating unit. Removing our old unit and installing the new main outdoor compressor and the heating blower were all accomplished in a day, they even installed the Thermostat model of our choice that was compatible to the new AC System. (CSLB #1027193) for a full project that included roof…read morereplacement, patio cover repair/paint with new aluminum roofing, gutters, and two window replacements. While we were initially satisfied with the roof, a neighbor later went up on it and reported several "soft" spots where plywood should have been replaced but was not. The patio cover work was especially disappointing. The wood was painted without any sanding or proper preparation, visible staples from a previous birthday party were left in place, replacement boards were installed misaligned and loose, and many boards cracked or split due to poor screw placement. I personally gave the company the benefit of the doubt and even questioned whether my 72-year-old mother had been too rash in her criticism. However, after coming to the house and seeing the work for myself, it was clear the quality was unacceptable. The issues appeared to stem partly from incompetence, but even more so from a clear lack of care. The work felt rushed and thoughtless -- as if the crew simply didn't care about the final product. The project was significantly delayed with inconsistent communication, and tools were frequently left lying around the yard (including in the rain) for weeks. When I raised our concerns with project manager Adam in the aftermath while trying to figure out what went wrong, he was hostile and dismissive, even going so far as to blame my mother for "leaving for her son's house whenever they wanted to come do work." By that point she was already long over it, and like many older homeowners, she had started retreating from the situation when she became unhappy with the delays and quality. Because of the substandard work, we terminated services before the windows were started. We have since requested a refund for the patio portion and the unperformed window work, but the company has been slow and unresponsive. We will now have to hire another contractor to properly redo the patio work, making this entire experience a complete waste of time and money. It is worth paying a bit more for reliable, specialized contractors rather than jack-of-all-trades companies that operate like door-to-door sales operations and are not particularly good at any one thing. Based on our direct experience, I strongly advise homeowners to avoid L.A. Home Contractor Inc.

He was very professional and took extra time to explain the materials that will be used and the entire process. The pricing was right in line with all other quotes we received. We had a horrible experience with our solar company trying to remove the panels before the work from AAA Roofing was able to start. Lee and his team were extremely accommodating and flexible and they were able to move the start date multiple times to match the solar take off schedule. Anita and Gigi were very responsive to all questions we had throughout the pricing, contracting, and scheduling steps. The entire crew that worked on the roof was very nice and respectful. They took their clean up job seriously after each day of work and left my yard and driveway cleaner than when they started.

This is my update to Nov 10, 2025 review and response to Stephanie A from Sunset Home Builders. She…read moreprovided the responses, however I was not communicating with her during the project nor she ever showed up to my locations. Alleged warning by Sunset Home Builders about a need to replace my old roof: The older roof /tile roof, to which the flat roof was attached, was completely redone and re-roofed in 2022, including all other roofs on my house. There was no leak after the roof was completed at any roof locations. The metal tile pan/U-shaped water channel along the vertical wall/tile roof at the subject location was not replaced since it was functioning. This tile pan was extending past the corner to direct water away from it and to flat roof. The flat roof was done in 2024. The leak immediately started with the first rain. Beacuse, under that white silicon, this is what I encountered: 1. The metal tile pan was destroyed by Sunset Home builders by cutting it, bending it, (that created a gap/hole in it) in a attemp to wrap it around the corner thus directing water under the waterproof membrane, and behind other incorrectly installed metal flashings along the other vertical wall. 2. These other metal flashings were cut short thus leaving a gap for water to enter. 3. The patchwork metal flashings was added on top of this gap and nailed with many nails, destroying waterproof membrane. 4. The metal flashings that roofer was using was not the real Z-flashing and L-base flashing. He was using the metal edge from the flat roof in lieu of the real flashings. Unfortunately I am realizing all that after the fact. CONCRETE SLOPE: The contract calls for 1%, and that is what I asked for. CODE: Sunset Home Builders were not asked to do anything that is not per code. During the project, Sunset Home Builders, Omri, was telling me that my electrical wires were not installed correctly trying to avoid fixing the wires that the roofer cut at two locations. I told him that is my problem and they need to fix what they broke. There are a lot of other items that were not properly installed and were part of contract such as replacing the top of rotten wood at the flat roof edges. The pictures tells more than words. I asked one of the two workers if I could go up the stairs. The worker actually doing the work began to sigh dozens of times, deliberately so that I could hear. He came at me with a really bad attitude. The rude worker told me to go up the stairs. The worker at the top of the stairs yelled at me, I was at the bottom, to hold the dog. It's on a little windy street with practically no parking. Frankly, nobody else really wanted to deal with it. I had about a dozen people out to look. I got almost nothing but absurdly high estimates and comments like, "No, I think I'd rather try to stay alive." Konrad has an efficient crew. They put up scaffolding and used a blow torch to bend shingles around the turret. They made it look easy. Amazing!

Most of his reviews on Yelp that actually had roofs installed are all 5 stars. The others all sound like impatient whiners. Crew came Thursday morning and got to it right away. Had they not had to wait for the tile, I believe they would have been done in 1 day. Came back Friday for 2 hours to finish up. Looks GREAT!!!! Now the test will be when it rains
