Was very disappointed to go with my family today and older woman behind counter was less than welcoming, more so seemed we were bothering her as paying customers. I have been going to this bakery for decades. It used to be one of my favorites, their baked goods were fresh, delicious, the customer service was great, and the people that work there were the nicest. Not any more. Since it's been under new ownership, I have gone back a few times, trying to give them a chance, but each time I've been disappointed, mostly by the customer service, the attitude of the employees, and the obviousness that they are claiming day old stuff is fresh. No, it's obvious when you have dried out frosting, it's not fresh. I was hoping it would get better, but no , not at all. Last time I was there, they didn't even care that a customer didn't have a mask. I should've known from the first day of the new ownership that they had let go? or that they fired? everyone who worked there, put up a sign that said "Kosher like Bakery " , it wouldn't be the same. So disappointed. Out of principle, I feel I shouldn't even buy the few things that are still good. :-( read more

My 89 year old mother went in today and bought bread and cookies--when she got home she noticed they forgot to put her bread in the bag. i called the store and they were rue to me and when I came in to pick up the 2 loaves of bread the manager did not apologize nor did she treat me respecfully. I complained about her attitude and she told me I could take my business elsewhere. I asked her for the name of the owner and she wouldn't tell me. REally? I called the BBB and filed a complaint--one of many according to them And Township disclosed owner.'s name. Wow we have been patronizing this bakery for decades.... After reading some reviews, I really wanted to love this place. I drove 25 minutes to check it out. I needed a couple of desserts for a family party and didn't want to settle for grocery store items. SO, I went for the seven layer cake. The gal working the counter was great, she offered me a sample. I thought it was ok.. But there must be something wrong with me because I've read such rave reviews.. I'll get the cake anyhow. I also bought a banana nut cake. My family didn't care for either one. I must admit this is probably the first time we didn't make a dent in the desserts.. I would go back for pastries and breads available, but leave the cakes up to someone else.. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE: On Nov. 20th, I called to order a Chocolate Bobka coffee cake for Thanksgiving. They told me to COME IN to place the order, pay for it, & pick it up in time for Thanksgiving. I drove TWELVE MILES to get there only to be told they would NOT take my order, because THAT cake was not on the "pre-order" list. (Even though I was TOLD on the phone to come there). This is my very favorite authentic Jewish bake shop. I'm partial to their cinnamon rolls, the butterhorns, the butter cookies and of course the best seven layer cake around! I've even hooked my "goy" friends on the stuff! And don't miss the cinnamon fingers - I think they only make those on Fridays, but well worth it if you can get there. On the "downside" parking at the shopping center can be sketchy and you may not get a convenient space. But I look at it as attempting to walk off a few (okay a very few) of the calories! read more

This Bakery has incredible bake goods and bread!! I used to live about 1/2 mile from this bakery and went there at least twice a week for years!! The seven layer cake is to die for as well as the "covered wagons" and "wagon wheels!!" These last 2 cakes are a rich chocolate cake with a huge top layer of buttercream, encased in a chocolate fudge frosting. They are sinfully rich and gooey!! The Chocolate Babka is another favorite of mine. Clumps of chocolate in a rich buttery dough!! The "refrigerator cookies" are my childrens' favorite! The texture is very unusual, sort of a velvety melt in your mouth feel; definitely no butter in these. Unfortunately, we moved to Texas and now can only enjoy these baked goods on visits and when family sends us a "Care Package." I have never enjoyed baked goods as much as the ones from here and truly miss Diamond Bakery!! If only they had mail order ... The Challah, Rye Bread, Pumpernickle Bread, and Onion Rolls are also incredibly good! I do not understand how anyone could give this Bakery less than 5 stars!!! read more

Three years since my first review, and Diamond Bake Shop has kept its excellent standards. I won't even buy brownies anywhere else. Theirs are chocolatey, fudgy delights.
