Since they had a couple reserved parties going on, the only seating that was offered was the high top table (to the right side of the entrance). I'm not sure if it's normally, self serve, but the process was easy- thankfully a staff came over and let us know where to order. After placing our order, our food came out pretty quick. Crispelli's never misses! I've been to the Royal Oak location, but this one definitely has more variety! I was pleasantly surprised to find a smash burger on the menu. I'd never seen it here before, and wow... it was incredibly tender and juicy. So worth trying! That said, my go to favorite will always be the shrimp and chorizo pizza. It's next level delicious, I genuinely dream about it. Also, shoutout to them for having bosco sticks! They're elevated in the best way and instantly take me back to childhood. I haven't been here in about 10 years and it's the same as I remember. The Caesar dressing is the best, but I wish they had more bread choices than sourdough or Italian for a Panini, and Italian cream cannolis in addition to ricotta. I love this place! It has ample seating and is Conveniently located in a plaza near 15 mile and orchard lake. It is separated into a service vs self service section and I really like how there is a covered outdoor patio with lights that you can still access in the winter. there are many options here for picky eaters, with a wide variety of pizza and bread, salads, pasta, soups and desserts and wine. The prices are very reasonable for the portions you get. I didn't love the breadsticks on this past visit (the cheese was burned onto the bread it felt/ not enough cheese maybe?) but I love their pepperoni margherita pizza it's always tasty and fresh! I didn't realize they also have a nice selection of desserts here such as mini pistachio cannolis and tiramisu! I would love for Crispelli's to introduce a rewards program next if they don't have one already as I'm here frequently. Would definitely recommend to come in whether it be with family or for a date night or with friends, just be cognizant this place can close a little early on the weekdays. read more

I love Crispelli's bread and house salad. Was also the first deep dish pizza I had in Detroit. Very good. They offer round thin pizza and deep dish. Cute interior. Plenty of seating options. Easy to find and large parking lot. My low review is for being charged $24+ for a vegan mushroom pizza. The deep dish are smallish for large pizzas. It's been 2 days and I am already asking my family when we can dine at Crispelli's again. I absolutely loved my first visit! I've drove by the location on Woodward hundreds of time but never stopped in. When my family had a day filled with multiple museum visits, we were starved by the time dinner arrived. A quick visit to Yelp led us to the West Bloomfield location. We loved the two setups -- dine in or cafeteria style. Both options had large tables to enjoy your delicious food. We opted for dining in, which was a 20 minute wait. We didn't mind waiting. We marveled at the cozy decor and browsed the menu with our time. We were seated and met with a kind waitress who welcomed us in and helped us answer any questions. Everyone ordered their own pizza and we also opted for the cheese bread. If there's one thing you get off the menu, it's the cheese bread. Easily best bread I've had. So soft, fluffy, and so full of flavor. Currently debating making the drive just to get that again as I write this! I enjoyed the White Pie, which had artichoke hearts, roasted garlic, and mozzarella cheese. I loved it! Very different from what I usually get, but still so yummy. It heated up well 2 days later. The thin crust was the perfect combo of chewy and soft. As a party of 6, we really enjoyed the options to buy a small pizza for a great price. For 6 of us, we paid around $85 which included an entree for everyone, drink, and we split the cheese bread (HIGHLY RECOMMEND!) Stop by the bakery area on your way out. The chocolate chip cookies are to die for! Melt in your mouth goodness! I'll be bringing the family back here for my birthday dinner. What a nice and quaint place! I've been here many times before but this time, it was just okay. It was my eating companion's first time and he's vegan. He asked for his pizza to be vegan and it seems like they forgot to make it vegan the first time so they had to remake it. So, he had a little bit longer of a wait. He did say, in the end, his pizza wasn't bad compared to some vegan pizzas he's had before so I was glad he at least enjoyed his. We ordered two pizzas from Crispelli's as take out and ate them fresh. We ordered the Mediterranean pizza in veggie form added in spinach and the wild mushroom pizza. They were both great but I personally liked the mushroom pizza the best! One of the pizzas was a bit overcooked making it a little hard to eat and a little too smokey in taste. Hence I'd rate it a 4.5 if I could! Regardless I'd still order from them again since they were tasty and different from Detroit style pizza. read more

Whenever I pick up a pizza from Crispelli's I think back to one of my favorite Yelp events where we actually were able to make Pizza! A super fun event that definitely kick started my love forthis restaurant. With all the items on their menu it's really a shame that I've only actually had the pizza and my go to is the Margherita Pizza. Mainly consisting of pizza sauce, mozzarella, basil, and olive oil. It's so good! I always ask for it to be a little well done, and it always comes out perfect. Nowadays I mainly order takeout vs sitting in since it's usually only pizza I'm ordering and would much rather enjoy it at home, but I have had my sights set on a few items that I would love to try in the restaurant like their Tiramisu. Now Crispelli's isn't exactly what I'd call cheap. You're not going to get a hot N ready here for $5 so know that ahead of time but the food is definitely worth the price. read more

I have been to Crispelli's for lunch a few times and each visit has been good. I normally order the soup and salad combo (minestrone soup & Crispelli salad) which never disappoints. Decided on an easy spot since I was in the area. The hostess asked for our information for contact tracing. We sat down in the dining area. In the evenings the servers take our orders at the table, during the day you order at the counter. We ordered two crispelli entree sized salad with cedar plank salmon. The downside of our current Lenten diet is that it doesn't allow for many or any apps, thus our meals seem to take longer. We tend to be hungry by the time dinner comes too. It must be the cedar salmon takes a bit longer since they make it to order. Our waitress said it would be another 3 mins or so. Took about 25 minutes for our food to come out. They gave us a hard crostini and a bread roll sour our salad, so sad, we had to discard the bread. The salmon looked good. It wasn't cooked on the inside. My husband's fish was more raw than mine, the inside looked sushi raw. The salmon is blackened but it had some sugary sauce all over it, it's some sweet Asian glaze or sauce. There was no need to put it on a perfectly good blackened seasoning, but it's already marinaded in the sweet Asian sauce. They took away the two bowls. Round 1. They are remaking the salad for my husband's with all romaine lettuce, not mixed with iceberg. I asked for just a salad with all romaine too, with no salmon at all, since my stomach was feeling a bit queasy. I am good on fish for tonight. Another 25 minute wait for the next order. My husband felt the urge to crack open a bread roll to see if it looked good, he wanted to eat it but not yet. Our second salads were out in less than 10 minutes. We had two salads, one had a mostly cooked salmon. My salad salmon I didn't want was still raw in the middle, even though I had explained I didn't want any salmon at all. It looked about the same as the first salad in fact. That's round 2. Our waitress looked baffled as she looked at the second raw salmon in my bowl. She sent out the manager. He offered to remake a 3rd salad for me with chicken, even though I didn't really want chicken, it's protein at least, since the garbanzos won't be enough to daily required amount of protein. The manager brought me a new salad in less than 5 minutes with a grilled chicken on top, but it was covered in Parmesan, which he rightly missed since the original order was with our waitress. He took away the 3rd salad and told me he would get a new salad and have me eating soon. It's been 58 minutes since we arrived. Round 3. My 4th salad came out minutes later. Service here is at least good and they were always quick to fix the issues with our food, swiftly, 3 times too. The salad itself is okay, the dressing is super subtle, the leaves are wet and moistened with dressing but there's not much of a hint of flavor from the dressing. Some oil to be sure. Couldn't taste much of the red wine vinaigrette at all. The grilled chicken was sliced up and was fully cooked. The Rosemary seasoning was good and the meat was moist. I guess if you get salad here, the Rosemary grilled chicken is the safe bet. The salad was filling. The manager is beyond nice, super attentive and he did whatever he could to make our meals acceptable and edible. I would consider coming back for the pizza when we can eat gluten and cheese again. read more

This is a fave. Food is above average, and I like the open air atmosphere, and variety of tables. We usually get pizza, which is a New York style. Saucy. Very good. And, I usually have soup, which is excellent. Soup comes with a crostini (during Covid, this has sometimes been absent, ). They have beer on tap (a craft and general players) and wine available. I like the option to seat yourself and order, as opposed to sit down with a wait staff (which they also have). As a side note, the cannolis are made on site, and are very good. I have also had the wings. The rub was a too salty for my taste, but I appreciate that it was not a chicken wing with BBQ sauce. read more

The flavors were so beautifully balanced. The salad was fresh and plentiful; the dressing was not too sweet like some I've had. The meatballs were delicately spiced and the pasta and sauce was so yummy I didn't want to add Parmesan to change the taste. The staff were welcoming and friendly. We love this small intimate eatery for their pizza and pastas, but you really should give their sandwiches and paninis a try too! I recently had their Italian panini and grilled chicken club, and both were PERFECT. The panini had the right amount of kick from the salami, which was perfectly balanced with the fresh mozzarella and basil. And the basil pesto in the grilled chicken club is so good that my husband was scraping the rest of it off my plate! We finished off our meal with a pistachio cannoli. Seriously this place is one of the best kept secrets of West Bloomfield. The service is awesome and everyone is so warm and friendly.
