This review is coming from the standpoint of a person working to set up a wedding. The vicinity itself is nice. I even had time to go on their little hiking trail. That's why this review has got stars. As for whoever was doing event coordinator here/staff here, I wasn't impressed. We came here at 0900 in hopes that after all of there events were over for the day, we could start on the wedding arrangements, of which the reception would start at 1800/1815. My section was the drapes/curtains, which takes forever to set up. We confirmed with the lady at the lobby that all activities are over at 1400. However, even after tables and chairs were set up by THEIR caterers, drapes weren't allowed in until 1600. Why? Who knows. So at 1600, we came and set up with the lighting people. With barely enough time as it is to rush and get everything set up for 1800, they had guests coming at at 1745 (not sure if it was the staff or wedding planner who let them in, but that's what happened). Our team barely made it out in time before the guests came in since. Instead of waiting until the appropriate time (1800/1815) as previously planned and letting us clean up our stuff, THEIR staff high tailed it and threw all of our equipment into random boxes and LOCKED rooms and shooed us out. I understand that it's somebody's wedding you're trying to plan, but KEEP TO YOUR SCHEDULE and we'll be able to work with it. That extra 15 minutes would have made a complete difference on how everything would have looked. The person with the keys was hard to find. I had to flag down a kitchen server to help me, as she was nowhere to be seen. BTW. We weren't being paid by the hour nor even by the staff of DBC. We just wanted these people to have a nice wedding and a great set-up, which is why we arrived as early as we did. But seriously? 1.5 hours to set up a whole room of drapes isn't gonna be the greatest looking of jobs. If tables from THEIR staff were already set up at 1500, we should have been able to set up as well since it wasn't interfering with any other events or people. read more

We had our wedding reception at Diamond Bar Center this past month. I cannot begin to tell you how happy we are that we chose this place as our venue for our reception! Our guests loved everything about this place! The view, how spacious it is, the decor, everything! The best thing about this place is when you have the ballroom for your event, you're the only one in there for that night. There isn't another party being hosted right next door. Definitely intimate for you and your guests! Not to mention the staff has been extremely helpful and was pleasant to work with as our big day came up. As a resident of Diamond Bar, I wanted a wedding venue as close, simple, yet most beautiful as possible. I often walk my dogs around the area and occasionally go there for silence and solitude time. It always gave me this sense of tranquil. Therefore, I felt that it would be the perfect wedding venue, especially when I was allowed to bring outside cater in for a chinese style banquet. The venu has a lot of advantage and is a great wedding venu, but hosting a wedding there took a lot more work and time and money than I expected. Also, the place is heavily booked, so we had our wedding on a Sunday instead. First off, since the venue is a city property, there were a lot of strict rules and regulations on alcholol, clean up, time, etc. Though the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, they had to abide to strict city rules and go with everything according to the clock and contract. Among that was the time. We had to pay more in order to extend the set up time, so that costed us a lot more than expected. The center is also very strict on clean up too, we had to make sure every scraps inside and out was picked up as well and get everything in and out at a small window of time. Luckily, we had an amazing group of wedding volunteers from friends that made this possible. I can imagine how stressful it may be however, for others that may not have this kind of help. Our wedding was on the most beautiful and perfect day of the year, (mid April) with the trees and flowers just starting to blossom. We could't ask for a better ceremony location! I loved the garden oval area, where were were able to use the trees for shades and the lawn area to set up a dream wedding. The lawn area could only accomodate 250 or so guests, and that was our exact guest list. One of my favorite element of the Diamond Bar center is that it sits on a hillside, and when we had our reception inside, we had the entire windows uncovered, so our guests could enjoy their dinner while looking out the beautiful sunset outside the hall. It made the wedding atmosphere unique and nothing like a typical hotel wedding banquet hall with 4 solid, windowless walls. My only disapointment was the lighting above the dance floor. We met with the center coordinator a few days before the wedding to make sure all lightings and sound were in place according the our setting. However, on the day of the wedding, the lights above the dance floor did not light up the entire time, making our photos and area bland. No one noticed this to fix it, so that was a disapoinment also. Overall, I was very happy with my wedding and how the Diamond Bar Center help make it memorable. Honestly, the last place I would want to host any wedding is a city community center but the Diamond Bar Center is definitely exquisite, classy, and prestigious. I especially enjoyed working with the nice and friendly staff. read more

Attend/plan several meetings and events here for work. The venue is beautiful, location is easily accessible, and the scenery is exquisite. I deal directly with the staff and they are always helpful and friendly. Anything you need, they do their best to accommodate. If an issue arises (paper towels in restroom, ice in kitchen) they resolve it right away. My only issue with this venue has nothing to do with the facility or employees; but the residents who come to the site for whatever reason. They have walked into our private event and helped themselves to food. Downright rude and disrespectful. Employees handle it when notified, however, they can do nothing until informed. read more

Great venue! I had my wedding here 2 weeks ago and our guests complimented our decision to have our reception there. The staff was great especially Monique! She was so helpful, understanding, and just wanted to help make our day great! I appreciated her very much and even got me and my husband and cup of water as she could tell we were so busy greeting everyone she took the time to check on us. Beautiful view for great pictures! My fiancé and I went here today to see if they had a chance to give us a tour and maybe some information or if not we were wanting to see the location from the outside and make an appointment. The only reason I give two stars is because the girl who gave us the papers with pricing was very nice but she was very busy on the phone. There was another girl in the front desk who never asked if we needed help. We stood there for a while and she interacted with some vendors for a wedding and she did not seem very nice. We finally walked away and she just tells us to not go in the ballroom.... so you have time to tell me where not to go but you won't help? Or say we'll be right with you? What a shame because the location was beautiful. But there are also 3 ballrooms and that mean you might have to share the space and some have complained about party crashers. read more

I am a wedding coordinator with Dream Events Weddings in Montclair. The bride and groom fell in love with this venue. The only bad expierence is that they were given misleading information about the venue. So I suggest you get everything in writting and copies of all your paperwork. Overall the venue is great, the wedding was beautiful! we had the ceremony and reception in the same location, and only had 1 hour to transform the room. We attended a wedding on May 19,2018 - The venue looked beautiful thanks to the work of A1 Party Rentals in Covina, CA. Unfortunately the biggest problem and disappointment was the rudeness and unprofessionalism of Monique Saliu. What was to be the most beautiful and amazing day for a bride and her guest were unforgettable.. Monique had made several remarks of how she would shut down the event in front of guests. The caterers had set up to serve the food inside the ballroom and were told they had to move outside to serve because they were using burners to warm up the food. The caterers had discussed with the venue what was going to be done and had been given the ok to serve inside. "Rude" The bartenders were running late because they got lost and Monique would not allow anyone else to set up the bar for the bartenders to start serving as soon as they arrived.. I would think twice before booking an event at the DBCC. read more

As a guest of an event I recently attended, it's a great venue spot. Parking was super easy and open, so no circling around for hours. Directions are very easy to get to. Very open and spacious both inside for an indoor venue and outside for an outside event. Dance floor is a little small, but given the amount of people the place holds, it is about right depending how many people actually get up and dance as well. Was very clean, the restrooms and the surrounding areas of the venue were clean and well maintained. The area it's in is beautiful. Overlooking the mountains and the valley is really nice. Hope more of my friends have events here, or similar to here but no complaints here. read more

I have reserved a date here for a wedding because I've been a Diamond Bar resident for 20+ years, grew up here, and I just loved that they built this beautiful facility. It was pricier than other venues considering it was just borrowing a room(no services included) but I thought "this is my hometown, it'll be great to have my wedding in a place i love." But then I hit problems. First, I am actually having the ceremony and reception in the same room and so I needed stairs to go up to the stage. I asked if the facility had any stairs that I could use and they said no. I asked if they knew anywhere that I could borrow stairs from and they said they didn't. If i recall, this place had many weddings done and I'm pretty sure someone borrowed stairs or else they would've magically had to jump up about 3 feet to get onto the stage... Second, I called to see if I could set up about 30-40 minutes to have a rehearsal for the ceremony. The first woman I spoke with was very nice and said that I could use it on a certain date at a certain time. Unfortunately, I didn't know this time conflicted with our engagement photo session so I called back and spoke with another woman. She said that we had to pay $50 to rent it for one hour. I told her what the other woman said but she said no it's $50. I paid $2000 + for this room...I think the least they could've done was let me just have a quick rehearsal for 30-40 min..? I was a bit upset that she just cut me short stating that I have to pay $50. I am very unhappy with the Diamond Bar center because of this but there is nothing I can do now since the deposit was made. I just want to warn other future brides that even though this is a minor event, I would've loved to know about it in advance because I know there are many facilities out there that actually care about the brides and do everything they can to accommodate them. read more

Unaccommodating service. Said they needed 1 day in advance notice to book tour. OK. Tried to book one 6 days in advance. No tours on weekend. Sigh...didn't even tried to work with us. Mentioned again no last minute tours. I said forget it then. Emails back and forth. If you don't want people to contact you late at night then maybe you shouldn't contact me so close to midnight BEN. Too strict and no flexibility. Way to make me feel special when I am trying to pay YOU money to host my special day. I rather spend money elsewhere that will at least 'appear' to make me feel wanted! I understand a business is still a business. But the event manager comes off short and makes me feel like such a bother. If this is what I have to work with in the beginning, forget it. I'll take it as a red flag. So far, had a few email exchanges with him, and basically everything is a NO! That's his only vocab or something. Thank goodness I live in Cali where wedding venues are a plenty! read more

We had our daughter's first birthday and baptismal party at the Sycamore room here. A lot of our guests liked the space and the area, however, behind the scenes there were a few things I disliked about this place. One of them was the fact that they were a bit inflexible about so many things such as the set-up and clean-up times that they give you. For an event with 100 people, they couldn't possibly expect you to set up in 30 minutes. I'm just glad they let the party decorator come and use the hallway to get all the balloons ready before our 30 minute set up time was up. Same goes for the clean up: 30 minutes to clean up everything except for the tables and chairs. That means we had to empty the tables ourselves and sweep the floors while their guys stood around to take the tables and chairs! They also wouldn't let us put anything on the walls even though we were planning on using things that wouldn't damage the walls. Robin, the coordinator that was there for the party was great though, she was accommodating especially to me when I had to use a private room to breastfeed my daughter. We had them take some of our food during the party which they enjoyed. We paid good money for this hall and the space was enough for the guests. This place is probably good if you're looking for a really nice place and you have a good decorator, but be prepared for some strict rules. Find a good decorator who can make the place look great without using the walls. Ours actually looked very nice and they wanted a picture of it for the website so we will send them one. I just feel like we could have found a similar hall for a much cheaper price where we didn't have to worry about someone counting every extra minute of our use of the place. It was a great place but especially if there's no booking before or after your event, I just feel like they could at least be a little flexible so we can enjoy our time. I'd give 4 stars for the place and the staff, but for the inconvenience of having to clean up by ourselves while the staff stood there and watched, I'm giving them a 3 star. I doubt I'll have another event for my daughter here again. I'd rather go to a park or someplace where the rules are not as restricting. read more

just coordinated a wedding for this location that took place this past weekend. the center is modern, with amazing views, and plenty of space areas for guest to wonder around and take in the beauty of summitridge park! the on-site staff was very agreeable and helpful. the center was the perfect locating for an outdoor ceremony with a beautiful natural backdrop and indoor reception space that accommodated 220-250 perfectly! only thing is they book up to a year in advance so reserve early! read more

Nice facility. It is very easy to find and it's a great place to hold your events. The parking is easy so your guests won't have to pay for parking or circle a thousand times. It's very private and spacious. There's an outdoor lawn area used mostly for wedding ceremonies. The facility itself has a few rooms, the main one being the grand banquet room. Pretty nice wedding venue overall. Just went for a friend's wedding and the nice high ceilings with view of the mountains was gorgeous. Pricing seems very reasonable. Only draw back was there was no rooms to change and you would have to drive to a hotel after the event was over. Looks like a great option for anyone on a tight budget and still want a nice venue. I had my wedding here in June, this place is really great. I loved the view during the sunset and at night we enjoyed the city lights. Alot of people at my wedding where asking for information on planning for other weeding there. I especially enjoyed the fact that the kids could be outside running around without me worrying anything happening to them. I guess im still stuck in the L.A. party scene. Over the past few years I have had the pleasure of working all up and down the west coast, mostly in California. I have done close to 1,000 events ranging from small crowds of 50 people for a birthday or privet event to large crowds of 1,200 people. With this said I understand that large crowds can get out of control. This is why places have rules and regulations. However customer service can make or break how people will view an event location. At this Diamond Bar Center when you book the man room that can fit 500+ people, you get nothing but the room. You can not have control over the lights, which can change the mood of the event. They have dance lights linked up to a remote iPad, but no one knows how to use it. Whats the point. If you have a DJ or are doing a big seminar you can forget about buying or downloading the newest and hottest songs as requested, and link devices to TV's or projectors to give how to videos over via WiFi. Now when someone spends $5,000 plus on a ballroom for 2 days in a row one would think that Internet would be included. If not that's okay I will buy it for the days of my event. To spend $25 or $100 on top of $5,000 will not break the bank. The lied and said their was none and everyone could see the huge routers hanging on the wall. Things to know when booking: For you event make sure to ask for plenty of time for set up. This event I attended booked an entire day in advance to allow for set up. However, they only allowed for 3hrs for set up. Due to the wast of time many of the event had to be finished and changed during and in between segments. This is the worst place for vendors !!!!! For guest it is 50/50 depending on the event. read more

had my daughter's wedding reception here. Donna Puga is the sweetest girl in the world. There is no problem setting up in one hour if you hire the right staff. I hired Picture Perfect for decorating the room as well as china, flatware, glassware, etc... Mark knows this place inside out; he does at least one or more weddings almost every month there. As far as lighing, learn how to operate the lights or ask for help. It is not rocket science. The DB Center staff actually do go above and beyond to help you. if you want to have your wedding here, it is actually cheaper than going to a hotel or golf club and you get to personalize it and not have to pick Plan A,B, or C. (always a lousey chicken breast with rice and veggies salad and rolls for an outrageous price). plus you do not have to pay to get your cake cut, and you can buy it from whomever you want. Way more freedom if you have your reception here. We hired bartenders and hosted the bar so our guests can enjoy themselves and not shell out tons of cash for drinks. (so rude if you ask me). Nobody can believe the cost because it was a beautiful reception and it was elegant. if you want to have your wedding there; these were my vendors. almost all of them are vendors who do business at the DB center all the time. 1. Picture Perfect (DB); chavari chairs, china, dinner ware, light fixtures, everything you need!!! This guy loves to do weddings!! 2. Xavier's florist (DB) (high end flowers; affordable price). 3. Mexico Lindo (Pomona) catering and apptzers. (first wedding people actually got full and loved the delicious high quality food)!! buffet style they served dressed in traditional chefs' attire. (big white top hats). graduates of CAl state Pomona School of Hospitality) not your average caterer!!! 4. Mr. Bee Bartender (tips certified) and serving staff. (Downey) incredible service at an incredible price!!!! (everybody wanted to rip me off). some people want 27 bucks an hour per server, Yikes!!! 5. wedding cake (A piece of cake by Erin; rancho cucmonga); former head pastry chef at Patina. (you won't believe the price; and everybody loved it). we had none left. 6. Crystal Nicole photography ((diamond bar) (so much talent and so eager to please and so affordable) 7. ULC limos (nobody will beat them) the guy was early at the hotel to pick up my daughter! 8. Ann's bridal bargains for invites, favors, personalized flasks, etc. These vendors along with the DB Center let my son-in-law along with my daughter have the wedding of their dreams without breaking the bank. We are not rich at all, but you would not have known it. It is sad when people do not have a nice reception because they think they cannot afford it. i shopped for these vendors hard!! I almost cried when I first started trying to hire vendors. I searched high and low for the best at an affordable price. you might find somebody a tiny bit cheaper than Mark from Picture Perfect, but he will meet anybody's price, and he knows how to get the room ready in one hour and he knows the DB center big time!! Also be sure you have people to help you -- along with cars -- to put all the leftover stuff, booze, food,etc. away after the reception. DON"T believe the negative things people say about this place. you will only cheat yourself out of having your wedding your way. read more

Hello! I just had my wedding at the Diamond Bar Center on 8/14/2015! It's a lot of work but can be done and you can make your wedding look like you spent $30,000 but in reality spend under $10,000! I did all the leg work for the best vendors and deals so my list of vendors should help you tremendously!!! Robin and Matt are amazing!!! *You need to hire a wedding coordinator who has worked the venue before! You can find one for about $600-$800! Make sure to go to the vendor shows! Make sure Robin has worked with her and likes her!! *Mr Bee's Bartending service was amazing and inexpensive!!!! The best vendor I hired that I was the most happy with! He even met with me twice and gave me an alcohol list of the amount of alcohol I would need! *Petrillos Italian in Glendora catered and the food was a hit!!!!! We had a huge italian buffet with bread on every table, a yummy antipasta salad and three types of pasta under $7 bucks a person!!! It doesn't get cheaper than that!! Trust me I checked every every catering company and restaurant In the area and outside of the area! Check out their reviews! Matt the manager even made my husband and I a heart shape pizza! We feed 400 guest for $3,200! Matt 626-367-5634 *Do not hire Ramons Event services for clean up or staff! They are all lazy and have a bad attitude and gave us soooo much grief! Ugh it was awful. I got into it with Ramons wife in the kitchen! **********This is the most tedious of all things!!! You need to rent or buy your own linens and for some odd reason the center provides only the extra large tables not the standard banquet tables most venues provide! Linen rental cost is expensive and even more expensive at the Diamond Bar Center because you need a rare large linen size. So I purchased my own and spent a ton but now at least I can rent them out a few times and sell them and make some money back! So if your having a wedding a Diamond Bar Center you can rent or buy mine for cheaper than you will find any where else! Trust me, I did the leg work! All you need to do is buy a pretty overlay in your color which shouldn't cost too much since overlays are a small piece of materiel that goes over the white polyester. My white linens drop all the way to the floor to give it an elegant look!!! The Diamond Bar Center was a fantastic venue for our wedding. The Grand Ballroom has an amazing view and the venue itself is very spacious. We fit 35 large, round tables with a dance floor comfortably (it can seat up to 400 for dinner with a dance floor). The staff is extremely accommodating and great to work with. You can bring your own caterer and vendors of choice so it was much easier to plan our wedding since we weren't restricted by a list of venue-approved vendors. The only downside is the venue books up very quickly so make sure to call far ahead of your event to check on availability and to put down a deposit to secure the date you want. read more

We had our daughter's Quinceañera October 2015. All our guests loved the venue, it has privacy and amazing views! The grounds are awsome which compliments the ability to take great pictures. Plenty of parking space. Robin, the Diamond Bar Center Coordinator, was awsome and went out of her way to make our daughter's Quinceañera a memorable occasion. The day of the event, all the crew was friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this venue. I would definetly use them again!!! read more
