Reposting this review since Yelp placed it under the not recommended section This review is for our experience with Chuck. I am certain he will be expecting us to voice our review after the multiple negative experiences we recently had with this jeweler. For those of you even thinking about going with this business, Please read previous negative reviews from Laurie and Adrean as both my partner and I shared very similar experiences. We came to Chuck because we were looking to have a gold necklace melted into a ring. Mind you this necklace was given to my partner by his mother as a child and held a lot of sentimental value. To be specific, this was an 18k gold necklace weighing at 20 grams. We wanted this necklace melted into a band with personalized engraving. We were told this would be no issue. So we left feeling my partner's necklace was in trustworthy hands. A few weeks later we are Notified the ring is ready for pickup. Excitedly, my partner goes to his office to pick up his ring. This is where things get shady really quick. First off, the ring did not have the personalized engraving we requested. Secondly, Chuck tells my partner that the ring is "actually 14k and not 18k." Thirdly, after having to ask him to weigh the ring, he reluctantly tells my partner that the ring weighs 11 grams. My partner ended up leaving his office in disbelief. As soon as I found out I immediately reached out to him about this. Discrepancy 1: why would you tell us the ring is ready for pickup if it did not include the engraving we requested? turns out he didn't even write the engraving request on his "notes". This obviously illustrates lack of attention on your part. Discrepancy 2: WE KNOW we gave you an 18k necklace so why would you tell us that you had a "14k note written" for it???? just like you didn't have the engraving written on your notes, your notes mean nothing. That is not proof we left you a 14k gold necklace. For this we blame ourselves because we should have requested an itemized receipt indicating specially what we were leaving him with. All we got was a receipt with a 300 fee for labor. Nothing else. Because this necklace was a given to my partner as a child, we did not have the original Proof of purchase with us. Though trust me we are diligently working to find it. Discrepancy 3: We provided Chuck with a necklace weighing 20 grams. The ring came out to be 11 grams. Where is the rest of 9 grams??? We ended up reaching out to multiple Jewelers about the recycling process and we're told the same thing by all. "Depending on the design of the ring, the most you should expect to lose is 10-15%. " again what happened to the remaining 7 or so grams of you take into account the loss for recycling gold? Turns out he ended up admitting that his jeweler ended up selling the remaining of OUR gold. At no point in our transaction was there an agreement that you would keep the remaining of our gold. I mean who in their right mind would agree to such a thing especially being something of sentimental value???? Mind you Chuck did not address any of these issues with my partner in person. It wasn't until I called him out on it that he acknowledged any wrong doing. His resolution was to bring the cash difference to make up for the loss and offered a couple of hundred dollars off if we chose to have another ring customized!? Ok, so here's the final kicker. He ends up giving us 160 dollars cash for the loss!?!? What a ripoff and scammer!!!. If you take into account the dollar value amount per gram of gold it should have been over 200 dollars ( this is if you're considering 14k gold at about 34 dollars a gram) but again WE KNOW we gave 18k. To think that I was going to consider you to customize my ring as well. NOT A CHANCE!! People please do your research before considering this shady and unprofessional business. He gave us back something that wasn't even ours. Even the engraving was lazy. We trusted Chuck with something that meant so much to us and ended up losing far more than what the necklace was worth. We will definitely be getting rid of this ring and going to another trustworthy jeweler. Do not want a constant reminder of this shady business. read more

I have to write this review to thank Chuck so much for the care he showed, knowing that sometimes a ring is more than just a ring. I live in Las Vegas, Nevada and was having a hard time finding a jeweler that I could trust with an expensive ring and a family heirloom. This year I got married and a month before my grandmother passed. For my 75th Birthday my husband went to JWiesner's to purchase a .75 carat diamond which he gave to me on my big day. It was gorgeous! We talked about how to use it and decided to have a new wedding ring made. We have worked with Chuck and Jim before and have loved their custom made pieces. My engagement ring diamond was amazingly the same color and very close in size to the new diamond. We picked out a design we liked, and were able to make some changes with Chuck on his computer. He then had a wax model made. The model still needed some modification. The 2nd clay model was perfect so we gave Chuck the go ahead to make the ring. We picked it up yesterday. Wow! It is gorgeous and exactly what I wanted! Chuck was so helpful, gave great advice and encouraged me to make the ring exactly the way I wanted it. This was a fun and rewarding experience. read more

I can't speak more highly of Chuck. The design process for my wedding band was easy and relaxed, and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Chuck took the diamonds from my existing ring, and designed a beautiful halo setting - transforming it from tired and outdated to fabulous. The design process began with emails - I sent Chuck a photo of my existing ring and an example of one that I liked. He replied with a CAD rendering of a new setting that was remarkably realistic. I was sold! I immediately set up an appointment for an in-person consultation. We discussed band widths and types of metals for the new setting - Chuck was super informative as he guided me through my choices. After a couple of slight adjustments to the design I was sent updated CAD renderings for review and approval. The result is a beautiful new ring with halo diamonds that match my existing five stones perfectly. It's so sparkly, I have to be careful not to blind people ;) Chuck's pricing beat quotes from other jewelers, hands down. I got this ring looked at by 2 different jewelers they both told me the ring was Not gold it was platted. I was so hurt and disappointed and I was taken advantage of.
