Disappointed in the quality of the ring setting we got from here. Noticed an issue of unpolished,…read morescratchy prongs underneath the diamond and on the sides of the prongs. We immediately went back and were assured it would be fixed. They told us it would take a few days because they needed to remove the diamond to get in and polish the metal. Seemed odd since we came in with our own stone to be reset and the new setting from here was supposed to be custom made prior to setting our stone, but we let that go despite the confusion on our part. The next day we were told the ring was ready to be picked up and my partner collected it. When he gave it to me, I again noticed the ring was not up to par and the scratches were still visible. I called them to ask why they didn't remove the diamond and polish the prongs, and was met with lies and hostility. Vince told me they "didn't have to do that" and was very disrespectful on the phone telling me I need to "know my place." He seemed disproportionally upset and irate; perhaps he was having an off day. Ultimately, my partner and I decided against dealing with them any further due to their unprofessionalism and will be purchasing elsewhere. (We noticed additional issues including the diamond not being set properly, and I can't imagine Vince dealing with any more criticism!) TLDR- Stay away if you have a high attention to detail and expect great customer service, because they sure don't have those qualities here! Such a shame.

Getting back into the car I noticed a folding sidewalk sign for Leah Jewelers in Suite #108 a building I was never in. I guess it was an old building with what was converted to some nice little shops. Anyway met the owner Hector who has EXTENSIVE jewelry experience and was at the late York Jewelers for years. True gentleman and proceeded to replace both batteries for a very fair price I felt. He is not a watchmaker but is partnered with a long time friend that is if you have any high end automatics that should be services every 10-15 years. To be fair, he should have thought twice before forking over $500 to such a retailer, but he's a trusting guy and the ring is lovely--and also, unfortunately, not the right size. Ms. Proprieter Fung told me that not only would it (1). cost $80 to be re-sized, and (2). have to be sent to Hong Kong, but (3). would need to be an entirely new ring--smaller--meaning FEWER diamonds, yet MORE money?, and (4). not be finished until the first week of March. Here it is, March 2nd, and I just got off of the phone with the Fungs' daughter who seemed confused and disoriented as I read off my receipt number. She said that they would have to call me back. As of right now, I might have to file a police report. Do not give them business--well, not if you expect to receive service with your purchase.
